As the first rays of dawn filled the room, Yin Xue silently watched Lie Ruge as she slept peacefully. When Lie Ruge awoke, she felt a blush creep over her face, realizing Yin Xue had been observing her. Yin Xue smiled, calling her "a beautiful woman like a jade" and asked if he was already in her heart. He teased that the First Miss, who feared nothing, was afraid to admit such a simple truth.
Lie Ruge denied it, prompting Yin Xue to swiftly block her acupoint. He then got her boots and, to her amusement, knelt to put them on for her. Lie Ruge playfully asked why he would block her acupoint just to help her with her shoes. Yin Xue replied that otherwise, she would not have allowed him, adding that no man in this world would treat her as he did.
He then released her acupoint, reminded her that it was time to leave for Luoyang, and stepped out to prepare the horse carriage. Meanwhile, An Ye Jue’s subordinates were pursuing Lei Jinghong, who had been targeted under her orders. Lei Jinghong managed to evade them by clinging to the underside of Yin Xue’s carriage as it passed. An Ye Jue’s subordinate reported that they had injured Lei Jinghong but he still managed to escape.
An Ye Jue, displeased, acknowledged Lei Jinghong's exceptional martial arts and his use of bombs for escape. The subordinate expressed concern about the Old Sect Leader, but An Ye Jue dismissed it, stating that she had "taught Young Master a lesson" before without any repercussions from the Sect Leader. She ordered her men to continue searching, instructing them to "tie him up and drag him back here" once he was found.
Lei Jinghong, badly wounded, sought refuge in Feng Huang's room at the Flower Tasting Brothel. He asked Feng Huang for a favor, offering to pay her handsomely. He explained that he trusted her because she had seen through Dao Wuxia's character before and because her straightforward, "bad" temper suggested she wasn't as shrewd or universally pleasing as others, making her more dependable. Lei Jinghong first requested help with his wounds.
Back at Prince Jingyuan’s manor, Lie Ruge’s maid, Die Yi, found Bodyguard Huang. Lie Ruge was not yet back, but a woman from the Flower Tasting Brothel had delivered a "mud moisturizer" for her. Bodyguard Huang discovered a Thunderbolt Clique door talisman hidden inside. Recognizing it, Die Yi realized who was seeking Lie Ruge and, since Lie Ruge was absent, decided to go to the Flower Tasting Brothel herself. There, she found a severely injured Lei Jinghong.
He told Die Yi that there was internal strife within the Thunderbolt Clique and not to inform his father, as he suspected his "Second Mother," An Ye Jue, was behind the attack. Lei Jinghong urged Die Yi to warn Lie Ruge to always be wary of An Ye Jue. After Die Yi left, Feng Huang pressed Lei Jinghong for a marriage proposal, demanding that he marry her in return for saving his life.
Lei Jinghong, however, firmly refused, explaining that as the distinguished young master of the Thunderbolt Clique, he could not marry a brothel lady and bring shame to his ancestors, especially since he was the sole heir of a prominent family. He also revealed he had a sweetheart who was about to marry someone else.
Hearing this, Feng Huang’s hopes were rekindled; she declared that she only wanted his identity and a formal status, not his heart, saying she didn't care if he officially married her or not. Lie Ruge, upon her return, was told by Die Yi about Lei Jinghong's injuries and the internal strife within the Thunderbolt Clique, as well as his warning against An Ye Jue.
Lie Ruge, anxious about Yu Zihan who was sleeping more and more, decided to see him first and promised to visit Lei Jinghong after the current situation was resolved. Yin Xue, for his part, officially handed over the Flower Tasting Brothel to Madam Hua and entrusted his other assets to his disciple, Youqin Hong. Youqin Hong pleaded with Yin Xue to reconsider, reminding him of his inherently cold body and the monthly torment of the toxic chill.
He feared that absorbing the Chill Spell would be too much for Yin Xue. Yin Xue simply stated that it would be fine, though internally he knew his chances were slim. Yin Xue then carefully placed Yu Zihan on a bed and lit seven candles, telling Lie Ruge to guard them diligently. He warned her that if any of the candles extinguished, not even the gods could save Yu Zihan.
Lie Ruge, using her Flaming Fisticuffs, guarded the candles as Yin Xue began the healing process. The room's temperature plummeted, and a nearby bowl of tea froze, while Yin Xue's face became covered in ice as he absorbed the powerful chill from Yu Zihan. Yu Zihan, briefly awake, thanked "Prince Snow Robe" before Lie Ruge urged him to sleep.
Severely weakened, Yin Xue instructed Lie Ruge to swiftly take Yu Zihan back, ensuring he slept for three days and three nights undisturbed, as any disruption could nullify their efforts. He warned that Yu Zihan was at his weakest, and an attack from Dark River Palace could be disastrous. Lie Ruge expressed concern over Yin Xue's pale complexion. Yin Xue reassured her, mentioning that Youqin Hong, whose martial arts were superior to hers, was waiting outside.
Lie Ruge promised to return after taking Yu Zihan home, to which Yin Xue, knowing her devotion, simply said, "Even if I don't look for you, you'll come to seek me out." He urged her to hurry back. That same night, An Ye Jue learned of the activity at Prince Jingyuan's manor and was informed that a thousand elite soldiers had been mobilized, making security tighter than usual.
An Ye Jue saw this as Yin Xue's cunning foresight but also as a rare opportunity to kill him. Believing this was her best chance, An Ye Jue led her Thunderbolt Clique forces to attack the Prince of Jingyuan's manor. However, they found neither Yu Zihan nor Yin Xue. The manor's guards were well-prepared, deploying poisonous gas and a barrage of arrows, completely annihilating An Ye Jue's forces. Die Yi and Bodyguard Huang were among the guards defending the manor.
Realizing she had been outsmarted, An Ye Jue angrily muttered about Yin Xue's calculating nature. She concluded that Yin Xue and Yu Zihan were not at the manor, nor at the Flower Tasting Brothel, but deduced that Yu Zihan's grave injuries meant they could not have gone far. She vowed to find them. An Ye Jue's search led her to a desolate forest cabin, where she found Yin Xue, covered in frost and shivering from the cold poison.
She mocked his weakened state, calling him "the Sir that people are eulogizing," but now "useless." Yin Xue, despite his condition, retorted, reminding her of her own unusual act of stabbing herself sixteen times with a hairpin, knowing An Ye Luo loved someone else. An Ye Jue, revealing she had tracked him using her telepathy, mocked his "stupid" decision to go to Prince Jingyuan's Manor, which resulted in the loss of her entire army.
She dismissed the lives of the Thunderbolt Clique men, reiterating that Yin Xue was now powerless, with the toxic chill attacking his heart. An Ye Jue questioned why Yin Xue didn't simply kill Yu Zihan to win Lie Ruge's heart, suggesting it would have been faster and more pleasurable. Yin Xue calmly replied that he was not as despicable as she thought. Enraged, An Ye Jue wrapped a black sash around his neck, choking him.
Yin Xue, bleeding from his mouth, taunted her again, stating that even if she killed him, An Ye Luo would never truly love her. An Ye Jue tightened the sash, but Lie Ruge suddenly appeared, stabbing An Ye Jue from behind. An Ye Jue, having practiced dark arts, immediately sealed her wound. Lie Ruge used Flaming Fisticuffs to guard Yin Xue's heart. An Ye Jue and Lie Ruge engaged in a fierce fight.
During their struggle, An Ye Jue's internal energy somehow broke the seal on Lie Ruge's Flaming Fisticuffs, causing her power to surge. With newfound strength, Lie Ruge delivered a powerful punch that disfigured An Ye Jue’s face. Seizing the moment of An Ye Jue’s shock and pain, Lie Ruge quickly helped Yin Xue escape into the forest. However, their escape was short-lived as An Ye Luo suddenly appeared, ambushing them.
Yin Xue, with a desperate surge of strength, pushed Lie Ruge out of the way, allowing An Ye Luo to seize him. An Ye Luo assured Yin Xue that he had no intention of harming Lie Ruge, but chillingly added that Yin Xue’s death would surely plunge her into eternal sorrow.
With a final, malevolent declaration, An Ye Luo stated that the only way for Lie Ruge to never forget Yin Xue was for him to die, and then struck Yin Xue with a powerful blow.
