Xin Jialiang put on an arrogant air and acted condescendingly in front of the Mai family. She even deliberately asked Mai Chenghuan to order the food. Xin Jialiang accompanied Mai Chenghuan, who disapproved of Xin Jialiang’s overbearing behavior. Xin Jialiang kept apologizing to Mai Chenghuan and tried hard to speak well of Xin Jialiang. Mai Laitian expressed his gratitude to Chen Dejing for her hospitality and shared how reluctant he was to see his daughter Mai Chenghuan getting married.

Liu Wanyu praised Mai Chenghuan in public. Xin Jialiang promised to love Mai Chenghuan for a lifetime. Xin Jialiang pointed out that Mai Laitian didn’t know how to drink red wine, which led to an awkward argument with Liu Wanyu. Xin Jialiang deliberately served the fish tail to Mai Laitian and Liu Wanyu. Mai Chenghuan suppressed her anger and took the dish, but Mai Chengzao snatched the fish tail and ate it to ease his parents’ embarrassment.

Liu Wanyu discussed the wedding plans with Chen Dejing. Chen Dejing let Xin Jialiang decide on his own. Xin Jialiang wanted a destination wedding, while Liu Wanyu insisted on holding a lively wedding back in their hometown. Xin Jialiang mocked the guests invited by Liu Wanyu for not being classy enough, which led to a direct confrontation. Unexpectedly, Xin Jialiang sided with Xin Jialiang. Mai Chenghuan couldn’t bear it any longer and publicly announced the cancellation of the wedding.

Yao Zhiming came to deliver a gift to Mai Chenghuan and overheard the families arguing from outside. He quietly left the gift and walked away. Xin Jialiang yelled at Mai Chenghuan. Liu Wanyu was furious and got into a fierce quarrel with Xin Jialiang. She dragged Mai Chenghuan and Mai Laitian away. Xin Jialiang chased after them and tried to persuade Mai Chenghuan with kind words.

However, Mai Chenghuan saw through the Xin family completely and broke up with Xin Jialiang. Xin Jialiang returned to the private room and yelled at Xin Jialiang, who stormed off in anger. Mai Chenghuan received Yao Zhiming’s gift and called to thank him. Yao Zhiming advised her not to mind the Xin family’s prejudice and to live with dignity. Liu Wanyu vented all her anger on Mai Laitian, who was overwhelmed.

Mai Chengzao cooked a bowl of noodles to comfort Liu Wanyu. Liu Wanyu placed high hopes on Mai Chengzao, wishing he could bring honor to the family, but Mai Chengzao kept his feelings to himself. Mai Chenghuan returned home dejected. Liu Wanyu thought Xin Jialiang wasn’t too bad and decided to give up on the hometown wedding. However, she was surprised to learn that Mai Chenghuan had already broken up with him.

Liu Wanyu felt sorry for her, but Mai Chenghuan was determined. Mai Chenghuan went to vent to Maomao. Xin Jialiang kept texting to apologize, which annoyed her. She was completely disheartened. Maomao took her to a bar to unwind. Mai Chenghuan drank a lot and quickly got drunk. Mai Chengzao came to pick her up but suddenly received an internship notice from Fangyuan Law Firm. He was overjoyed, and Maomao happily ordered him a drink.

When Mai Chenghuan came out of the restroom, Mai Chengzao took the tipsy her away. Mai Chenghuan returned home early in the morning. She personally made a delicious breakfast and sincerely apologized to Liu Wanyu. Liu Wanyu had already forgiven her and just wanted her to be happy. Mai Chenghuan promised to find a boyfriend Liu Wanyu would be satisfied with and gave her a gift along with a cake to make amends. Liu Wanyu felt deeply comforted.

Liu Wanyu asked Mai Laitian to borrow money from Grandma Mai, Chen Shuzhen, for Mai Chenghuan’s dowry. Since Chen Shuzhen was not his biological mother, Mai Laitian couldn’t bring himself to ask. Liu Wanyu personally went to the nursing home to look for Chen Shuzhen, but was told she had gone out for morning tea. Disappointed, she left.
