Yao Zhiming was heartbroken over Yao Renfu’s sudden death. He sat on the floor in a daze, speechless, with Mai Chenghuan silently by his side. Liu Wanyu and Mai Laitian cared for Yao Zhiming attentively. It was Yao Zhiming’s birthday. Liu Wanyu made steaming noodles and carved “Happy Birthday” out of carrots. Mai Laitian brewed a cup of this year’s new tea for him. Though Yao Zhiming felt the warmth in his heart, he still couldn’t escape his sorrow.

After eating a few bites, Yao Zhiming once again felt the warmth of family, and tears streamed down his face. Mai Chenghuan gave him the sample cigars that Yao Renfu had picked during the tasting session before his death as a memento, and did her best to comfort him. Only then did Yao Zhiming begin to let go a little. Early the next morning, he visited Yao Renfu’s grave to express his grief.

Mai Chenghuan promised to always stay by his side, and Yao Zhiming was deeply grateful. Xing’anli Hotel lived up to expectations and was named one of the Top Ten Boutique Hotels. Mai Chenghuan was overjoyed, and Yao Zhiming was happy for her. She gave bonuses to the staff and granted them a five-day annual leave. Zhang Ziyu bid farewell to return to Switzerland for further studies, and Mai Chenghuan welcomed her to work at Xing’anli after graduation.

Yao Zhiming went to the market and bought a pile of groceries, wanting to cook a thank-you meal for the Mai family, but he didn’t know where to start. He had to call He Dong to find a home chef to help. Yao Zhiming thanked the Mai family for their continued support and help. Mai Chenghuan immediately saw that the dishes weren’t made by him, and Yao Zhiming admitted it.

Mai Chenghuan then publicly announced that Xing’anli had been named one of the Top Ten Boutique Hotels, and Yao Zhiming also shared the news of his promotion to President of the East China Region. The whole family rejoiced. After the meal, Mai Chenghuan picked some flowers grown by Yao Zhiming and placed them in front of Chen Shuzhen’s memorial photo, sharing with her the recent happenings, hoping her spirit would bless them.

Liu Wanyu received a hospital notice that her physical examination had revealed a shadow on her lung, suspected to be a tumor. The doctor advised further examination. She was stunned, feeling as though the sky had fallen. When Mai Chenghuan, Mai Laitian, and Yao Zhiming came home from work, they saw Liu Wanyu asleep on the sofa. She lied, saying she had a stomachache.

Mai Chenghuan showed concern, but Liu Wanyu quickly changed the subject and urged Mai Chenghuan and Yao Zhiming to get married soon. Mai Chenghuan said she wanted to wait a bit longer. Mai Chenghuan arranged for a tour group for Mai Laitian and Liu Wanyu, wanting them to go out and have fun for a few days. Liu Wanyu didn’t want them to worry, so she didn’t mention her illness.

Mai Laitian packed their bags overnight and left early in the morning with Liu Wanyu. Though Mai Chenghuan noticed something was off with Liu Wanyu, she didn’t give it much thought. Mao Mao suddenly received a call from Ding Ding, who tearfully said that Song Huaimin had hit him. Mai Chengzao and Mai Chenghuan happened to be present, so they went together to confront Song Huaimin.

Song Huaimin had sent Ding Ding to his grandmother’s house and yelled at Mao Mao. Since the second trial had not yet been decided, Mao Mao had to endure it for the time being and left with Mai Chenghuan and Mai Chengzao. Liu Wanyu and Mai Laitian departed with the tour group. Liu Wanyu was preoccupied the entire trip and had no interest in sightseeing, so Mai Laitian took her back home.

Mai Chenghuan invited the hotel’s lawyer to help Mai Chengzao devise a custody battle defense plan. They worked through the night to formulate strategies.
