After dinner, Mai Chenghuan sat alone in the courtyard, lost in thought. Seeing that she had something on her mind, Mai Laitian came over to talk. Mai Chenghuan told him everything about Yao Renfu causing trouble at the hotel and didn’t hide her concern for Yao Zhiming. Mai Laitian could tell that she liked Yao Zhiming and sympathized with his situation. He encouraged her to treat Yao Zhiming well and make up for the family affection he had long lacked.

He Dong came to see Yao Renfu and accidentally revealed that Yao Zhiming and Mai Chenghuan were in a relationship. Yao Renfu immediately understood everything. Liu Wanyu heard about Yao Renfu causing trouble at Xing'anli and came to confront him. From a distance, she saw Yao Renfu stirring up trouble and inciting employees to rebel against Mai Chenghuan. She couldn’t hold back and charged forward to demand an explanation.

Yao Renfu refused to back down, and the two soon fell into a heated argument and parted on bad terms. Liu Wanyu then went to see Mai Chenghuan and reminded her to beware of Yao Renfu’s schemes. Mai Laitian invited Yao Zhiming to go fishing by the river and used the opportunity to ask about his relationship with Mai Chenghuan. Yao Zhiming admitted that he liked her. Mai Laitian approved of their relationship.

Yao Zhiming was overjoyed and immediately shared the good news with Mai Chenghuan. Song Huaimin hired Luo Mingli as his defense lawyer. Luo Mingli, upon learning that Mai Chengzao was Maomao’s lawyer, didn’t take him seriously. Mai Chengzao, however, didn’t back down and fired back with witty remarks. Worried that he might not be a match for Luo Mingli, Mai Chengzao advised Maomao to find a more experienced lawyer. But Maomao had full confidence in him.

Zhang Peisheng approached Yao Renfu for a partnership, offering him a large sum of money to take back the Xing'anli Hotel. They quickly struck a deal. With the Shanghai Tourism Festival approaching, Mai Chenghuan wanted to use the opportunity to promote the hotel and discussed practical marketing strategies with Zhang Ziyu. After careful consideration, Yao Renfu decided to start with Liu Wanyu. He approached her to discuss the marriage between Yao Zhiming and Mai Chenghuan.

Liu Wanyu was completely unaware and called Mai Chenghuan, who was in a meeting and couldn’t answer. So Liu Wanyu went directly to Botticelli to confront Yao Zhiming. She questioned his intentions with Mai Chenghuan. Yao Zhiming explained sincerely that his feelings were genuine. Liu Wanyu demanded he become a live-in son-in-law and put him through some tests, which Yao Zhiming readily accepted. Yao Zhiming went out to scout shops, and Liu Wanyu offered to accompany him.

They visited several physical stores and worked late into the evening. Seeing how dedicated Yao Zhiming was, Liu Wanyu was quite satisfied. He hurried off to pick up Mai Chenghuan after work, and Liu Wanyu went with him. She brought them together and gave Yao Zhiming a few conditions. Worried that Yao Renfu would cause trouble again, Yao Zhiming promised to handle everything and ensure their life remained undisturbed.

When Mai Laitian came home from work, he overheard the conversation between Liu Wanyu and Yao Zhiming. He supported Yao Zhiming. Liu Wanyu was surprised to learn that Mai Laitian already knew about their relationship — it turned out she was the only one in the dark.
