Xin Jialiang had no choice but to admit his relationship with Mai Chenghuan. General Manager Xin wrongly assumed Yao Zhiming had known in advance and arranged for Mai Chenghuan to receive them on purpose. Mai Chenghuan quickly explained that Yao Zhiming had no idea about their relationship, but General Manager Xin didn’t believe it and stormed off angrily. Xin Jialiang pulled Mai Chenghuan aside and kept apologizing.

Mai Chenghuan was furious—over the past three years, Xin Jialiang had lied, pretending to be a struggling designer from out of town, with farmer parents. She never imagined he was actually from a wealthy family. Xin Jialiang admitted he had hidden the truth at first, but by the time he wanted to come clean, it was too late. He planned to explain everything during dinner that night, but Mai Chenghuan, upset, wanted to break up.

Mai Chenghuan voluntarily explained everything to Yao Zhiming, insisting she had no idea who Xin Jialiang really was. Yao Zhiming didn’t press further. Xin Jialiang returned home dejected. His mother advised him to leave Mai Chenghuan and wanted to introduce him to Director Zhang’s daughter. But Xin Jialiang insisted on marrying only Mai Chenghuan, which infuriated his father. Mai Chenghuan lied, saying Xin Jialiang was working late and returned home alone. She even brought supplements for her parents.

Liu Wanyu was dissatisfied, and Mai Chenghuan had to admit they had fought. Xin Jialiang came downstairs with flowers, loudly declaring his love. Neighbors gathered to watch the scene. Mai Chenghuan insisted on breaking up. When Liu Wanyu found out Xin Jialiang was rich, she begged Mai Chenghuan to give him another chance and spoke highly of him. Mai Chenghuan quarreled with her mother on the spot and locked herself in her room.

Her younger brother, Mai Chengzao, came home for dinner. Xin Jialiang begged him to help. Mai Chenghuan called and asked Mai Chengzao to come back home for dinner. The neighbors, annoyed by Xin Jialiang’s noise, hit him on the head with a bamboo pole. Left with no choice, Mai Chenghuan went out to meet him. Xin Jialiang swore he’d never lie again, and only then did she forgive him.

Yao Zhiming called to inform Mai Chenghuan she could stay at the company but would have her bonus deducted. Mai Chenghuan was overjoyed. Mai Laitian and Mai Chengzao waited downstairs with ice cream for her. Mai Laitian asked about Xin Jialiang, and Mai Chenghuan answered truthfully. Liu Wanyu called Mai Laitian and was finally relieved to hear that they had reconciled. Early the next morning, Wu You arrived at work and saw Mai Chenghuan back, which made her unhappy.

Yao Zhiming held a meeting, requiring everyone in the marketing department to create a proposal for a 520 Wedding Season promotion and announced a public competition. Zhu Zheng encouraged everyone to participate. Liu Wanyu, who was talented in singing and dancing, continued to choreograph for the senior dance troupe after retirement. She thought she was the obvious choice for lead dancer but was beaten to it by Aunt Zhou, thanks to Zhou’s future son-in-law sponsoring costumes and performance fees.

Liu Wanyu was indignant. She posted pictures of Mai Chenghuan and Xin Jialiang on her social media, bragging about his wealth and status. The other ladies in the dance troupe were envious. Mai Chenghuan worked late into the night on her proposal. Liu Wanyu called, urging her to come home early and had prepared pig’s trotter soup. Mai Chenghuan wanted to finish work first. Liu Wanyu reminded her to stay in touch with Xin Jialiang.

He came to pick her up and brought her a late-night snack. Liu Wanyu called again, and Xin Jialiang volunteered to come over for dinner the next day. Liu Wanyu was thrilled and dragged Mai Laitian to clean the house late into the night.
