Luo Mingli affirmed Mai Chengzao's efforts and publicly criticized Lawyer Liu. Lawyer Liu was furious. Knowing that Luo Mingli was the brother-in-law of Mai Chenghuan's fiancé, he still took out his anger by scolding Mai Chengzao. Mai Chenghuan agreed to all of Ms. Chen’s requests, trying every possible way to meet her unreasonable demands. She even invited Ms. Chen to a wine tasting event at the hotel, hoping to help her connect with potential clients. Ms. Chen was deeply touched.

As she was preparing to start a business, she was grateful that Mai Chenghuan bore no grudges and offered such a rare opportunity. She immediately paid off all her overdue property fees. Yao Zhiming witnessed this and felt comforted. Mai Chenghuan left early and returned late every day, passionately serving each resident and quickly gaining everyone’s recognition.

One evening, when she had not yet returned home, Liu Wanyu grew worried and asked Mai Chengzao about Mai Chenghuan's relationship with Xin Jialiang. Mai Chengzao made excuses to cover it up, and Mai Laitian also helped to divert the question. Liu Wanyu didn’t ask further. When Mai Chenghuan came home late, her parents were at the supermarket. Mai Chengzao took the opportunity to persuade her to leave Xin Jialiang and not to compromise herself for his job.

Mai Chenghuan reassured him to focus on his work and not to let her relationship with Xin Jialiang affect his future. Liu Wanyu sensed that Mai Chengzao was hiding something and suspected that Mai Chenghuan had argued with Xin Jialiang. Unable to ask her directly, Liu Wanyu was advised by Mai Laitian not to interfere in the younger generation’s marriage matters. However, she couldn't let it go and decided to visit the Xin family to find out for herself.

Liu Wanyu brought smoked fish early in the morning to Chen Dejing. Chen Dejing immediately saw her intention and insisted that Mai Chenghuan and Yao Zhiming had teamed up to bring down the Xin family. She accused Mai Chenghuan of leaking the bid price to a competitor and Yao Zhiming of reporting the kickbacks Xin Jialiang gave her. After hearing the whole story, Liu Wanyu felt that Mai Chenghuan did nothing wrong.

Xin Jiali stood up and yelled at Liu Wanyu, who didn’t want to argue and tried to leave with the smoked fish. As it began to rain heavily, Mai Laitian learned Liu Wanyu had gone to the Xin family and planned to take Yao Zhiming home first before picking her up. Xin Jiali accidentally revealed that she had forced Mai Chenghuan to sign a prenuptial agreement.

Liu Wanyu was furious, never expecting them to make Mai Chenghuan sign such a humiliating document. Mai Chenghuan rushed over, pulled Liu Wanyu away, and prepared to leave. Xin Jiali hurled insults at Liu Wanyu. Xin Jialiang, unable to stand it, came out to stop her. Mai Chenghuan could no longer bear it and declared on the spot that she had not revealed the bid price and knew nothing about the kickbacks.

She wouldn’t let her parents suffer because of love. She broke up with Xin Jialiang then and there and walked out with Liu Wanyu. Xin Jialiang ran after them in the rain. Liu Wanyu urged Mai Chenghuan to talk things over with him. Mai Chenghuan told her to stay under the awning at the entrance and stay out of the rain. She told Xin Jialiang once again that they should break up.

Xin Jialiang was unwilling and finally vented all the frustrations he had bottled up. He had quarreled with Xin Jiali countless times because of her. Mai Chenghuan felt exhausted and no longer wanted to be tormented by this relationship. She turned and left decisively. Mai Laitian arrived with Yao Zhiming to pick up Liu Wanyu and saw everything from a distance.

Yao Zhiming told Mai Laitian to take Liu Wanyu and Mai Chenghuan home first, and he would find his own way back. Mai Chenghuan saw Xin Jialiang standing alone in the rain and silently wished him happiness. When she returned home, she locked herself in her room, refusing to eat, drink, or speak. When Mai Chengzao got home and found out she had broken up with Xin Jialiang, he was relieved for her.

Liu Wanyu, worried that Mai Chenghuan might do something foolish, tried to go in and check on her. Mai Chenghuan came out smiling and used buying laundry detergent as an excuse to leave the house. Mai Chenghuan went alone to the Huangpu River. Mai Chengzao followed and gently comforted her. He said he wanted to resign and leave Fangyuan Law Firm.

Mai Chenghuan advised him not to act rashly and not to let her situation with Xin Jialiang affect his career. Liu Wanyu prepared a hearty breakfast in the morning, but Mai Chenghuan had no appetite and left for work without eating. Liu Wanyu remained worried, while Mai Chengzao believed she would move on. Liu Wanyu wanted him to persuade Mai Chenghuan to reconcile with Xin Jialiang, but Mai Chengzao felt they weren’t right for each other.

As Mai Chenghuan entered the apartment lobby, she didn’t notice the warning sign placed by the cleaning lady and slipped to the floor. Luckily, a colleague came to help her up in time. Yao Zhiming happened to be in the lobby and wanted to comfort her but held back. Manager Zhang affirmed Mai Chenghuan’s work and encouraged everyone to learn from her. Mao Yongxin, upon hearing that she had broken up with Xin Jialiang, came to comfort her right away. Mai Chenghuan was deeply saddened.
