Everyone agrees only Li Huizhen can excel in the role. Lin Yimu returns from vacation, prompting colleagues to suspect he and Li Huizhen are dating, as they were together during his time off. At a meeting, Bai Haoyu proposes changing the magazine's theme, which was Li Huizhen's idea.
He doesn't want to use her concept if she isn't returning. Lin Yimu initially challenges Bai Haoyu but then decides to help him for Li Huizhen's sake, clarifying that his return is solely because Li Huizhen wished for him to assist Bai Haoyu. Meanwhile, Li Huizhen, still looking at "Eternal" magazine, feels regret about leaving and realizes she has been avoiding reality. She decides to quit her dessert shop job to start anew.
The shop owner, perceiving her true feelings and weary of her friends visiting from "Eternal," proactively dismisses her, supporting her pursuit of a different path. At home, Li Huizhen's father faces issues with his old, broken printing press, jeopardizing client orders. To help him, Li Huizhen fabricates a story that "Eternal" will hire him to print a special supplement. Her father is thrilled but worries about his equipment.

Bai Haoyu attempts to persuade Li Huizhen to come back by sending her a photo of an onion and her old thank-you letter, which also makes Li Huizhen realize he was the one who found her lost notebook. Her sister, Huilin, encourages her to stay strong and work hard. Overwhelmed but resolute, Li Huizhen decides to confront her situation and not sink any further. Seeking a change, Li Huizhen asks Xia Qiao for help with her appearance.
Xia Qiao, pleased that Li Huizhen is moving forward, teaches her makeup techniques and takes her to get her hair done, suggesting covering freckles and straightening her curls. Xia Qiao then asks Lin Yimu to remove a bracelet Bai Haoyu gave her, signifying her intention to let go of the past. The next day, as the "Eternal" editorial department is bustling, the phone rings. To everyone's astonishment, a beautiful, transformed Li Huizhen, with long, straight hair, answers it skillfully, marking her return.
