As Xiao Chuang's car plunged into the river with Zhang Ping Ping inside, Chen and his companions were terrified. To avoid implication, they drove their car far from the scene before finally reporting the incident to the police. They had witnessed the fall and believed anyone in the car would either die from the height or drown. Meanwhile, Huayan's business was thriving with a steady stream of orders.

Manager Qi enthusiastically reported high sales figures from various distributors, including 300 units for Qiansheng Technology and 200 units for Mr. Sun from Shanghai. Man Huansheng arrived to inform Tan Qizhang that the first-day sales for the Tempest series had reached 1,231 units, far exceeding their expectations. Relieved and pleased, Tan Qizhang immediately arranged a celebration banquet and instructed Man Huansheng to bring Pei Qinghua back from the factory.

Pei Qinghua packed his belongings, feeling a sense of reluctance to leave the factory. He thanked the workers for their cooperation and dedication, acknowledging that together they had fought a triumphant battle. He informed them that Xiang would temporarily oversee operations and a new person in charge would arrive soon. Yue San presented Pei Qinghua with a special gift from the team: the very first motherboard sample from their production line, a token for him to keep.

The workers expressed their sorrow at his departure, assuring him that regardless of where he worked, he would always be Yue San's master, and they would continue to work with absolute diligence. Pei Qinghua promised to visit them often. At the celebration banquet, Tan Qizhang proudly spoke of Huayan Computer's remarkable success.

He began to thank the President, but before he could finish, others enthusiastically cheered for Pei Qinghua as the primary contributor to the Tempest series' success, much to Tan Qizhang's subtle displeasure. Pei Qinghua was called to the stage to speak. He stated that the victory was not his alone but belonged to everyone present.

He then shared that the day held a deeper meaning for him, recalling an oath he made two years prior in his hometown to achieve something significant in his chosen path. He expressed confidence that with everyone's continued effort, Huayan Computer would one day become a household staple. In a different office, Xie Hang and Lydia were discussing their company's setback.

Huayan had taken the lead by launching their Tempest series during their leave, pricing it over 3,000 yuan lower than their own product. Xie Hang felt they had lost the battle and urgently proposed calling headquarters to move up their new machine's launch date and re-evaluate their pricing, unwilling to "sit by and await death." Lydia reminded her that even if she called now, the approval process would take at least two weeks.

Lydia tried to comfort Xie Hang, telling her she had done her best and not to blame herself, suggesting her chest pain was due to exhaustion. Just as Lydia left, Xie Hang received a phone call from an officer at the Public Security Bureau of Guangzhou. The officer informed her that Xiao Chuang had been in a car accident, fallen off a cliff, and his condition was unknown. Xie Hang's world collapsed.

She quickly jotted down the address at five kilometers east of Guangzhou City's Xingang East Road and rushed out. Meanwhile, at Huayan's celebration, as the festivities continued, Xie Hang appeared, distraught and in tears, to tell Pei Qinghua about Xiao Chuang's accident. Pei Qinghua and Xie Hang quickly headed to Guangzhou. On their way to the airport, Xie Hang also learned that Lu Hainiu had stolen all the money and fled, leaving Linghang in chaos.

Pei Qinghua urged her to stay calm, saying they would know more once they arrived. At the accident scene by the river, a police officer informed them that the car had been retrieved, but Xiao Chuang had not been found, possibly swept away by the current. In the car's trunk, they found Zhang Ping Ping's ID card, other documents, a wallet, and Xiao Chuang's cellular phone. Xie Hang refused to believe it, pleading with the police to search again.

Just then, the salvage team discovered a body. Upon hearing this, Xie Hang collapsed, overcome by grief and memories of Xiao Chuang. Xie Hang later woke up in the hospital to find Pei Qinghua by her side. She asked if the recovered body was Xiao Chuang. Pei Qinghua confirmed it was Zhang Ping Ping, but there was still no news of Xiao Chuang.

A police officer then explained that witnesses saw the car being chased, likely by Linghang's creditors, leading to excessive speed and the crash into the river. The car's windshield was shattered and its front deformed, indicating a severe impact. The officer grimly stated that the chances of survival were negligible. Despite this, Xie Hang pulled out her IV, stubbornly insisting that Xiao Chuang was alive and waiting for her at home. She rushed back to their apartment with Pei Qinghua.

There, in the living room, a beautiful white wedding dress was displayed. Xie Hang realized Xiao Chuang had planned to propose. Overwhelmed by this discovery and the tragic circumstances, she broke down in tears, wishing he had told her sooner. Two days and nights passed with no further news from the salvage team, who decided to cease operations.

Pei Qinghua desperately pleaded for them to continue, offering money, but they explained they had reached the limits of their search protocols and suggested looking along the riverbanks. Unwilling to give up, Pei Qinghua took Xiao Chuang's photo and began asking locals if they had seen him. Xie Hang, too, was consumed by grief, continuously posting missing person flyers.

Both continued their tireless search, but there was no sign of Xiao Chuang, and Xie Hang's health began to fail from the stress. They later attended Zhang Ping Ping's memorial service. Xie Hang expressed her sorrow, recalling how Xiao Chuang had once told her that Zhang Ping Ping saved his life, and lamented the loss of such a good young man.

Pei Qinghua then asked Xie Hang about her earlier statement to the police that Xiao Chuang was an orphan, as Xiao Chuang had always claimed his parents were involved in top-secret national work in northwest China. Xie Hang revealed that Xiao Chuang had confided the truth to her during her last visit to Foshan: he had grown up without parents, raised by many families.

Pei Qinghua was stunned, having never imagined Xiao Chuang's difficult past or witnessed his vulnerable side throughout their years of friendship. Despite the overwhelming odds, both Pei Qinghua and Xie Hang resolved to continue their search, refusing to lose hope. Exhausted from crying, Xie Hang continued her relentless search with Xiao Chuang's photo. Pei Qinghua, too, was overcome with emotion, pleading for Xiao Chuang's safe return. Xie Hang then broadcast a missing person announcement for Xiao Chuang over the radio, which Brother Hu heard, leaving him deep in thought.
