In Dali, Chu Shengnan confronted Bai Wuchen, expressing her exasperation with his constant presence. She flatly told him she never liked him and never would, making it clear she was not joking. Bai Wuchen was left speechless and visibly hurt by her unequivocal rejection. Meanwhile, Luo Feifei debated whether to return to the palace to warn Beitang Yi about an impending assassination attempt.

Despite her internal conflict, acknowledging that Beitang Yi often wanted to kill her, her inherent sense of duty as a 'paramedic' (though she felt she wasn't one at the moment) compelled her to try and save him. Upon arriving, she was informed by a eunuch that the Emperor had already left the palace. Desperate to catch up, Luo Feifei quickly swam out of the palace and found a donkey.

She struggled to make the stubborn animal move, pleading with "Brother Donkey" and even resorting to smacking its hindquarters to urge it to gallop faster, emphasizing the life-or-death urgency of her mission. Elsewhere, Beitang Yi, Beitang Moran, and Beitang Tang visited a riverside spot they frequented during their childhood hunts.

Beitang Tang earnestly tried to mend the strained relationship between his brother, Beitang Yi, and his uncle, Beitang Moran, understanding that the core issue was the pursuit of the throne and the power it brought. He reminisced about their shared past, recalling a time they tried to move a large stone together and how they cared for each other during injuries or sickness. Beitang Tang directly questioned what had driven them apart, explicitly asking if it was the throne.

Frustrated by their silence, he dramatically declared he would withdraw from the next three Constellation Tournaments. Their tense conversation was abruptly interrupted when they detected an ambush and immediately fled on horseback. Luo Feifei, still struggling with her donkey, finally caught up to the fleeing group, shouting warnings about the ambush. But before she could fully convey the danger, Ophiuchus assassins launched their attack.

In the ensuing chaos, Luo Feifei was struck in the shoulder by an arrow while protecting Beitang Yi. As the battle raged, Luo Feifei attempted a desperate tactic; she grabbed an assassin's leg, claiming they were all friends and urging him to call off his comrades. However, another assassin seized her, holding her hostage and threatening her life to gain leverage against Beitang Yi. Luo Feifei was dragged away towards the treacherous Misty Forest by two assassins.

Beitang Tang, seeing her capture, implored Beitang Yi and Beitang Moran to rescue her. The lead assassin, aware of the existing conflict between the Emperor and the Prince, tried to exploit it, offering to release Luo Feifei if Beitang Moran would kill Beitang Yi. To Luo Feifei's dismay, Beitang Yi coldly stated she was just a "dancing girl" and that they could kill her if they wished, feigning indifference.

Incensed by his apparent callousness, Luo Feifei called him out, reminding him she had just saved him. Beitang Moran then stepped forward, offering his own life in exchange for Luo Feifei's. Recognizing Beitang Moran's sincerity, the assassin attacked. Beitang Moran swiftly dispatched one of the attackers, while the other fled, with Beitang Moran giving chase. Beitang Yi remained with the injured Luo Feifei, tending to her shoulder wound despite her pained protests.

Luo Feifei soon realized Beitang Yi's earlier harsh words were a calculated ruse, intended to make the assassins believe she was unimportant and thus prompt them to release her. She thanked him for his cleverness, for staying, and for patching her up. His consistent monosyllabic replies amused her, leading her to playfully call him a "jerk."

Beitang Yi, in turn, asserted his status as the "Son of Heaven, the Dragon Seed," to which she teasingly referred to him as a "Dragon Egg." Just then, Beitang Moran returned, having lost the fleeing assassin who disappeared into the back of the Dragon Chasm. He arrived to find Beitang Yi gently carrying Luo Feifei away from the scene.
