Oh! My Emperor Season 1 Episode 17 Recap
> Oh! My Emperor Season 1 Recap
After an entire night of searching, Feifei remained exhausted and anxious from her unsuccessful efforts to find Yanran. Meanwhile, Uncle Chen showed no concern for Yanran's whereabouts, instead immediately confronting Prince about their engagement. Prince bluntly stated his intention to break off the engagement and set Yanran free once he regained his power, as he knew she did not love him.
Uncle Chen mocked him, reminding him that if he lost the upcoming final tournament, the Grandma-Empress would force him into marriage by the time he was thirty. Their argument escalated, prompting Uncle Chen to move the final tournament forward by three days, a challenge Prince readily accepted. Overhearing their constant bickering, Feifei accused Uncle Chen of being responsible for Yanran's disappearance and warned that she would hold him accountable if anything happened to Yanran, leaving him bewildered.
Yanran awoke well-rested at her home and learned from her maid, Xiaohe, that Feifei had visited but was turned away. Yanran chided Xiaohe for her rudeness, but Xiaohe defended her actions, claiming Yanran was too kind and easily bullied. Xiaohe offered cynical views on relationships, suggesting Feifei's seemingly innocent nature made her more appealing to men like Prince. Yanran, however, dismissed Xiaohe's suspicions, asserting her friendship with Feifei and the importance of trust.
Realizing she had missed the previous day's Constellation Lords conference, Yanran instructed Xiaohe to prepare her to go to the Palace. The various search parties for Yanran converged, exhausted and unsuccessful. Notably, Shang Yu and Xifeng Lie were absent. Despite their disappearance, Prince assumed they were capable of handling themselves and ordered everyone to return and rest. Yanran arrived at the Constellation Lord Hall, greeting Eunuch Hai, unaware of the extensive search for her.
She expressed relief that she wasn't late for the conference. Moments later, Prince, Uncle Chen, and Beitang Tang entered, all surprised to see a well-rested Yanran. Meanwhile, Prince dispatched Eunuch Hai to find Feifei and inform her of Yanran's safe return. Upon hearing the news, Feifei was immensely relieved, her anxiety finally subsiding, confirmed by Eunuch Hai who mentioned Prince's specific concern for Feifei's worry. With Yanran confirmed safe, Uncle Chen insisted on resuming the Constellation Lord conference.
Prince immediately questioned Yanran about her whereabouts the previous night, revealing the extensive search. Yanran clarified she had simply been at home. Uncle Chen then directed Yanran away from Prince's preferred seat, asserting that Prince would sit there from now on. The meeting moved to outstanding votes for the upcoming tournament. Yanran, after consideration, cast her vote for the Earth Signs, aligning with Prince. Just before concluding, Uncle Chen proposed the execution of all rioting Ophiuchus members.
Prince argued against such a harsh measure, suggesting investigating the cause of their madness first. Uncle Chen, however, dismissed this as "thinking like a woman" and remained adamant about their execution, challenging Prince's authority when he resisted. It was noted that the upcoming tournament would be more challenging for Prince's side due to the continued absence of Shang Yu and Xifeng Lie. Bai Wuchen volunteered to join Prince's team, despite concerns about Shengnan's recent injuries and weakened martial arts.
Prince accepted Bai Wuchen's offer and reiterated the tournament rules: three teams per side, facing off one by one, with victory determined by capturing the enemy commander or their flag before sunset, or by defeating more soldiers. Simultaneously, Xifeng Lie was shown being forcibly administered a powerful drug by shadowy figures, causing him to become disoriented. Observing this, Shang Yu realized this very drug was likely the cause of the Ophiuchus people's madness.
He resolved to continue following the figures to uncover their true intentions. Later, concerned by the continued absence of Shang Yu and Xifeng Lie, Prince dispatched Shengnan to search for them in the Back Mountain, noting Xifeng Lie's usual habit of sending a signal if in trouble.
