The Constellation Lord Conference began with Beitang Yi presiding. Beitang Moran, standing by the final chair, questioned Beitang Yi about its occupant, the Ophiuchus Constellation Lord. Citing the recent Ophiuchus-instigated riots that harmed innocent civilians, Beitang Moran proposed abolishing the Ophiuchus seat, arguing that the constellation had failed in its duty to protect the people. Beitang Yi called for a vote, which passed six to five in favor of removal, reducing the constellations from thirteen to twelve.
With Xie Yanran absent and unable to cast her vote, Beitang Moran adjourned the conference until the evening. Luo Feifei returned to her Star Service Workshop after a fruitless search for Xie Yanran and encountered Xiaohe, Xie Yanran's maid, who offered no helpful information. Luo Feifei then walked in on Beitang Yi and Bilian embracing. Bilian, claiming the Grandma-Empress sent her, questioned Beitang Yi's preference for Luo Feifei.
Angered, Beitang Yi ordered Bilian to leave, reminding her that only the Grandma-Empress's intervention had spared her punishment. As Bilian left, Luo Feifei, disgusted by the scene, cursed Beitang Yi, calling him a "lecherous asshole with bad taste." Later, Luo Feifei encountered Beitang Moran and his companions, and mistakenly accused Beitang Moran of also flirting with a maid. She revealed Xie Yanran's disappearance, surprising Beitang Moran and explaining her absence from the conference.
A guard then informed Beitang Moran that Beitang Yi had already initiated a search for Xie Yanran in the forest behind the Prince Chen's Residence, accompanied by imperial guards. Beitang Moran dispatched Chu Sheng Nan and Xifeng Lie to assist in the search. Unbeknownst to everyone, Xie Yanran was at her own home, emotionally distraught and stress-eating, lamenting that Beitang Yi did not reciprocate her feelings and declaring her dislike for him.
Despite the extensive search that continued into the night, no one located her. During the search, Beitang Yi even suggested that Beitang Moran should quickly find Xie Yanran so they could marry, a proposal Beitang Moran playfully avoided. The search was conducted in teams. Shang Yu and Xifeng Lie were paired together, as were Chu Sheng Nan and Bai Wuchen.
Chu Sheng Nan, also known as Dali, and Bai Wuchen began to argue when he tried to gift her a hairpin and suggested she dress less like a "tomboy." Enraged, Chu Sheng Nan used her "Lion's Roar" ability to push him away. Undeterred, Bai Wuchen approached her again, declared his admiration, and promised to support her if she became a general. He then proposed marriage, suggesting they marry after the Military Power Tournament.
Meanwhile, Shang Yu and Xifeng Lie became separated, and Xifeng Lie was ambushed by a group of assailants who were seen forcing medicine upon a "manic guy," possibly connecting them to the Ophiuchus riots. As Xifeng Lie was overwhelmed, Shang Yu, recognizing his limited combat skills, cleverly pretended to be a lost member of the assailants' group and successfully infiltrated their ranks.
