Fu Zi is troubled by the estrangement and rift between Hao Zeyu and Niu Meili, wondering why they developed a conflict after coming so far. Fu Zi's father advises her that Hao Zeyu and Niu Meili must eventually confront and resolve this issue themselves, as Fu Zi's intervention would only worsen things. He also asks Fu Zi to invite Hao Zeyu over for a meal.

Niu Meili invites a young street busker, who plays the violin on a bridge, to eat. She believes his skill is excellent, suggesting he could be a soloist in an orchestra. However, the young man, who works part-time and studies, explains that he plays not for an audience or money, but for his own relaxation and happiness, asserting that no one understands him better than himself, and he doesn't want to be forced into something he doesn't desire.

Fu Zi, either on a rooftop looking at the sky or in a courtyard, receives a call from Hao Zeyu. Hao Zeyu apologizes for saying harsh words and mentions he went to see Peng Yongkang, wanting to explain. Fu Zi tells him she has thought things through and doesn't need his explanation; she only cares about his happiness and will support every decision he makes, assuring him she will always be the simple Fu Zi who supports him from behind.

Although Hao Zeyu is close by, having either walked into the courtyard or reached the alley entrance, he asks Fu Zi to pick up the phone and places his own phone over his heart, letting her hear his heartbeat. He wants to convey that there is no distance between their hearts, and for her to feel every beat, which greatly reassures her. Fu Zi is deeply moved and very happy, though she playfully complains he's learning romance.

They then gaze at each other under the moon. Gu Dapeng comes to Niu Meili to drink and apologize for the matter concerning Ren Jiajia. Niu Meili understands why he spent time with Ren Jiajia and clarifies that they have no future, as she already has someone else in her heart. Gu Dapeng understands their situation but is still deeply hurt. He assumes this person Niu Meili likes must be exceptional. Niu Meili laughs, saying "Exceptional?

He's annoying all the time!" Gu Dapeng is confused and, after drinking heavily, leaves. Heartbroken, he later tells Fu Zi's father that Niu Meili said the man in her heart is "annoying." Fu Zi's father reacts strongly, spitting out his food, believing Niu Meili is narcissistic. Gu Dapeng, who initially thought the person in Niu Meili's heart was Zhao Xiaobei, is once again baffled by the reactions.

Shi Rujing offers Hao Zeyu an endorsement deal, explaining that Director Wang's film has been scheduled for release, and once it's out, Hao Zeyu will be eligible for the endorsement. Hao Zeyu is hesitant, stating he only wants to act well and has no interest in commercial collaborations; he would immediately accept a drama role from her, but not these commercial opportunities.

Shi Rujing knows he is also considering Peng Yongkang's film and warns him that accepting it would be a downward path, understanding his current rising period makes him conflicted. She laughs and persuades him to consider reality and how to support a large family, reminding him he's almost thirty, still lives in a basement, and likely has someone he likes who needs a stable environment.

She reveals that she, like Hao Zeyu, was once terrified of poverty and shares her own experience of leaving her hometown to come to Beijing. Fu Zi, either lying on her bed or feeling a constant unease despite a recent peaceful period, sighs and overthinks about Hao Zeyu's potential fame, feeling insecure and unable to help him as he seems both close and distant, as if something big is about to happen.

Meanwhile, Hao Zeyu's mind is filled with Shi Rujing's words and his deep love for Fu Zi, realizing that loving someone means providing a safe and stable environment. He repeatedly thinks about these words and about him and Fu Zi. He then invites Fu Zi out for a walk; they go rollerblading. He asks her if she wants a new home/house and tells her to close her eyes and imagine it, vividly describing a beautiful future life for her.

He offers to buy her a house, stating that since Fu Zi has a Beijing hukou, the property deed would be in her name, using the excuse that he doesn't have a Beijing hukou. Fu Zi is very happy but also feels Hao Zeyu is acting strangely, and his annoying mouth quickly irritates her again. Shi Rujing brings Zhao Xiaobei to their old dwelling, the place where she and Zhao Xiaobei shared good memories and struggles.

She starts talking about their past, but Zhao Xiaobei impatiently interrupts her. Hao Zeyu's recent words reminded Shi Rujing of these past good times. She used to only focus on success, but now she wants to show Zhao Xiaobei what she lost. Zhao Xiaobei sighs, saying that what is lost is lost because one cannot fix past mistakes.

On the way home, Shi Rujing looks at the night view and reminisces about their beautiful memories when they first came to Beijing. Zhao Xiaobei sincerely congratulates Shi Rujing on finally achieving her wish, implying that while she achieved her wish, she lost Zhao Xiaobei. Ren Jiajia's father comes to pick her up, informing her he has a job abroad and plans to take her with him for studies, specifically mentioning sending her to a boarding school.

Niu Meili is furious, scolding him for not considering Ren Jiajia's feelings, leading to a fierce argument where he retorts that he is her father. Ren Jiajia overhears their conversation, becomes emotional, throws a big tantrum at her father, returning all items he bought for her, and then drives him out of Niu Meili's home.

Before leaving Beijing and checking out of his hotel, Peng Yongkang calls Hao Zeyu, informing him he won't be returning and no longer plans to film that movie. Hao Zeyu, feeling conflicted, immediately rushes to the hotel to meet him, stating his willingness to take on Peng Yongkang's film, even offering the same remuneration as the previous one. However, Peng Yongkang reiterates that he no longer wishes to be a director and only wants to focus on writing screenplays.
