Sun Binyu, aware of Lu Jing's grandparents' desire for him to have a girlfriend, intentionally let them know that their future granddaughter-in-law was having a meal at his place. They showed up at Sun Binyu's door pretending to "borrow rice" and brought soy milk as well. They were impressed by Liang Chen and her beauty. Grandma Lu offered them food from their home and urged Lu Jing to bring Liang Chen home to meet them soon.
Grandpa Lu emphasized the importance of not procrastinating. While cleaning up after the meal, Jia Yun suggested Sun Binyu still had feelings for Liang Chen, which he denied. Sun Binyu informed Liang Chen about the girl who had approached Lu Jing earlier that day, questioning their relationship.
Lu Jing admitted he told the girl she had no place in his heart. During the game, Lu Jing and Liang Chen openly displayed their affection, which annoyed Sun Binyu. Lu Jing told Liang Chen he missed her and didn't want to be apart, and they playfully called each other "Chen Chen" and "little kid". Lu Jing gave all his in-game items to Liang Chen.
When Sun Binyu jokingly threatened to pursue Lu Jing, Liang Chen interjected, stating she would not agree even if Lu Jing did. Lu Jing met with his professor, who inquired about his plans for studying abroad. Lu Jing confirmed he had received his "letter of admission" and was expected to go overseas the following year. While waiting for takeout, Lu Jing taught Liang Chen how to play computer games.
He sat her on his lap to "teach you by grabbing your hand" and demonstrate how to "handle recoil." Later, news broke that musician Lin Qi was engaged to his long-time manager. Ma Shanshan was deeply affected and cried. Shortly after, Liang Chen received a call from Sun Binyu, who told her Ma Shanshan was drunk and he couldn't handle her alone. Grandma Lu asked Lu Jing why he hadn't answered his father's calls, revealing his father wanted to discuss his "matter of studying abroad next year." Overhearing this, Liang Chen was shocked and hurt. She confronted Lu Jing about not telling her about his overseas study plans.
