Following the trending topic about their relationship, Lu Jing's roommates apologize for putting up the banner, explaining they only did it to help him "uphold his dignity" against a rival. Lu Jing playfully refuses to forgive them unless his "girlfriend agrees," and before they can process this, he rushes off to meet Liang Chen. Liang Chen discusses the matter with her manager, who teases her about the relationship before reassuring her that the lighthearted topic won't cause any real trouble.
Liang Chen also informs Lu Jing that Sun Binyu, upon learning about them, has insisted they treat him to dinner. Later, Sun Binyu visits Liang Chen, feigning interest in reminiscing about college. His true intention is to gather information about Ma Shanshan, whom he has feelings for, admitting he waited outside her house all Christmas Eve to no avail. Liang Chen shows him photos but forbids questions.
Upon seeing a photo of Ma Shanshan's ex-boyfriend, Lin Qi, Sun Binyu becomes agitated, disparaging Lin Qi's appearance and height.
