Lost in The Kunlun Mountains Episode 32 Recap
> Lost in The Kunlun Mountains Recap
Luo Yunsong initiated a discussion with Chu Fengling, beginning with the demand that she accept Wu Shuang. Chu Fengling immediately perceived their negotiation as unequal, arguing she had leverage with two Soul Pursuit Orders and Her Ladyship's backing. He firmly countered, stating that the matter concerned everyone, not just the two of them.
Luo Yunsong then declared that Chu Fengling was not qualified for an equal negotiation, explaining that the Soul Pursuit Orders belonged to all of them, not just her, and Her Ladyship’s true distrust was evident by Luo Jiutian’s involvement. When Chu Fengling accused him of being a feudal warlord, Luo Yunsong reminded her that she had been raised by one.
Since the initial condition was not met, Luo Yunsong presented his decision: Chu Fengling would no longer be privy to their plans, to prevent further leaks of information. Furthermore, He Biao would be assigned to monitor her. Chu Fengling vehemently protested, calling it surveillance and asserting her status as his sister, not a criminal. Luo Yunsong challenged her, stating that if she disliked his terms, she could report him to Her Ladyship, provided she could first escape their current location.
He even mockingly invited her to smash a cup if it would make her feel better, implying her powerlessness. Enraged, Chu Fengling retreated to her room. Shortly after, He Biao arrived with Luo Jiutian. Luo Jiutian noted everyone's presence, including Wu Shuang. Ding Yunqi then pressed him to get to the point. Luo Jiutian confessed to impersonating Ding Yunqi in Tianjin, stealing the Mountain-demounting Soul Pursuit Order, and arbitrarily killing Lord Hao.
He justified his actions by saying he would have died if Lord Hao hadn't, emphasizing that the Soul Pursuit Order was his means of survival. Luo Yunsong urged Luo Jiutian to leave the Mountain-demounting Soul Pursuit Order, offering to take on his debt, but Luo Jiutian dismissed this as a ploy to disarm him.
He proclaimed that he trusted no one but himself and warned Sun Sanxuan that his men, armed with sniper rifles and machine guns, surrounded the house, ready for a life-and-death struggle. Luo Jiutian then portrayed himself as Her Ladyship's loyal "dog," sent because her true interest lay in the Kunlun Mountains, not him. He argued his existing relationships and vulnerabilities made him a strategic asset, especially given the uncertain threat from Tian Long.
Luo Yunsong, however, declared that with He Biao now monitoring Chu Fengling, Luo Jiutian’s continued presence would be meaningless. Luo Jiutian countered that for a "dog" like him, not following them would mean death. He reiterated his responsibility for his choices and expressed his hope for Ding Yunqi's victory, believing it would be the best outcome for everyone. Luo Yunsong concluded the discussion, dismissing Luo Jiutian, who jokingly departed, mentioning he expected to be invited for dinner.
As Luo Jiutian walked away, Luo Yunsong watched him with tearful eyes, acknowledging the loss of his brother. Meanwhile, Chu Fengling, still fuming, refused to eat in her room. After He Biao's attempts to persuade her failed, Wu Shuang stepped in. She insisted Chu Fengling open the door, then presented the food San Jin had prepared, stating that if it wasn't eaten, she would instruct San Jin not to bother in the future.
Chu Fengling questioned Wu Shuang’s interference, but Wu Shuang retorted that she had no intention of being Chu Fengling’s sister or spoiling her. Wu Shuang then delivered a stern warning: Chu Fengling's willfulness was a luxury afforded by Luo Yunsong and He Biao's care, and continued obstinance would eventually erode that care, leaving her with no "capital" to be willful. Wu Shuang then left, instructing He Biao to ensure Chu Fengling ate.
Later that night, the men loyal to Her Ladyship received a radio message ordering them to assassinate Luo Jiutian. Unaware of the betrayal, Luo Jiutian's life was saved by Xue Dingfeng, who, discovering the plot, shouted for Luo Jiutian to run before being shot and killed. Luo Jiutian escaped, fighting off his attackers and sustaining injuries. The sounds of the gunfight alerted Luo Yunsong, Ding Yunqi, and Wu Shuang, who speculated about its source.
He Biao, too, heard the commotion and instructed Chu Fengling to remain safely in her room. Luo Jiutian, having hidden, cornered one of the soldiers and forced him to reveal the reason for the attack: Her Ladyship believed he had betrayed her. Luo Jiutian defiantly killed the soldier. He then made his way to a river to clean his wounds. There, he witnessed two black-clad men pulling a body from the water and administering a pill, miraculously reviving the person.
Luo Jiutian accidentally made a noise, attracting their attention. He submerged himself in the river, where the two men pursued him. Luo Jiutian fought and killed both, but as he emerged, a dart struck him in the neck from afar. Critically wounded, Luo Jiutian desperately struggled back towards Luo Yunsong's camp. He was met by Ding Yunqi, Wu Shuang, Luo Yunsong, and Sun Sanxuan, who had rushed to investigate the gunshots.
With his final breaths, Luo Jiutian handed the Soul Pursuit Order to Wu Shuang, expressing his profound regret that he hadn't been handsome or educated enough to earn her affection and secure a loving family. He wished for a better next life before succumbing. Ding Yunqi examined the dart in Luo Jiutian's neck, identifying it as an artifact of Tian Long, thereby confirming Tian Long as the killer. Wu Shuang laid Luo Jiutian to rest in Mound-digging, her home.
At his grave, she vowed to carry the Soul Pursuit Order with her, ensuring his presence on their journey, and promised to return to recount all their adventures. Afterwards, Wu Shuang and Ding Yunqi prepared to depart for the Kunlun Mountains. Before they left, Wu Shuang spoke with Jiang Xuewen regarding Luo Jiutian’s death.
Jiang Xuewen offered his condolences and reported the results of his preliminary investigation: Xue Dingfeng and three soldiers from Luo Jiutian's team had died in a gunfight in the southwest forest. Two unfamiliar black-clad men, not from Mound-digging, were found dead by the river, and evidence suggested Luo Jiutian was injured there before making his way back. A transceiver was also discovered. Jiang Xuewen promised a full investigation to provide the Luo brothers with answers.
He then presented Wu Shuang with a Mound-digging business roadmap, marking affiliated gas stations, courier stations, and safe houses where they could seek assistance. He urged Wu Shuang to return and to write to them, assuring her that he would diligently manage Mound-digging in her absence. Wu Shuang promised to return and consider his advice about Senior Hua.
The group, including Ding Yunqi, Wu Shuang, and Sun Sanxuan, eventually reached a location that matched the incomplete map's description of "river and mountains." Ding Yunqi identified a cave entrance where the mountains met the water, noting its unusual color, indicating it was usually submerged and only revealed when the tide receded. He speculated that this natural concealment was likely the intended protective barrier for the Kunlun Mountains, affirming their proximity to the goal.
Sun Sanxuan offered to procure boats from a nearby fishing village. Ding Yunqi decided they would camp for the night and enter the cave the next day, instructing He Biao to find a hidden spot for their vehicle. After navigating the cave, they arrived at a beautiful place called Bawang Xiejia. Wu Shuang, having only read about such perfect feng shui in texts, expressed her awe. Ding Yunqi suggested they set up camp to thoroughly explore the area.
Wu Shuang voiced her unease about Tian Long, fearing he was secretly monitoring them with an unknown number of forces, and wondered if they should summon reinforcements. Ding Yunqi, however, was resolute, declaring that Tian Long would not escape this time.
When Wu Shuang expressed doubt about his willingness to kill, Ding Yunqi firmly stated that showing mercy to Tian Long, who carried immense blood debts, would be a cruelty to everyone else, and Tian Long must pay with his own life.
