Lost in The Kunlun Mountains Episode 3 Recap
> Lost in The Kunlun Mountains Recap
Luo Yunsong confronted Zhou Qiuhai, who defiantly declared he would rather see the Penta-sect's reputation destroyed than surrender. Luo Yunsong retorted that Zhou Qiuhai's "rash" and "strong personality" were hindering their business. He then ordered Luo Jiutian to bring two of Zhou Qiuhai's disciples back for questioning. When Luo Jiutian hesitated, not knowing whom to pick, he singled out a man. When another disciple protested, Luo Jiutian ordered both to be taken.
He then brandished a gun, menacingly reminding them that "flesh and blood can't block bullets" and threatening to "destroy all of you" if they resisted. Faced with this threat, Zhou Qiuhai reluctantly yielded. Luo Yunsong, deeming this a more agreeable "attitude of talking," allowed his men to take the two disciples. As Wu Shuang returned to the Taiyi Private Bank, she found the area swarming with police, immediately sensing trouble.
Luo Jiutian introduced his brother, Luo Yunsong, the Director of the Shanghai Police Station. Luo Yunsong then announced his "second thing," formally proposing marriage between Luo Jiutian and Wu Shuang and presenting betrothal gifts. Luo Jiutian eagerly addressed Zhou Qiuhai as "Master Father-in-law." However, Zhou Qiuhai, seizing an opportunity, dismissed the proposal as a poorly conceived "script" and claimed that Wu Shuang was already engaged to Ding Yunqi, having accepted his betrothal gift.
When questioned, Zhou Qiuhai explained that according to Penta-sect tradition, only the Kunlun Heaven Official can marry, and Ding Yunqi, as the next Heaven Official, had presented the dragon bone to Wu Shuang as a betrothal gift just the previous day, which she had accepted. Wu Shuang, quickly understanding her master's tactic, affirmed her obedience and declared that she "must marry Ding Yunqi." Luo Jiutian protested, but Wu Shuang reiterated the centuries-old Penta-sect rule.
Luo Yunsong feigned helplessness, deeming the situation "a bit difficult." Luo Jiutian, disregarding the engagement, declared his intention to "snatch her" if he couldn't marry Wu Shuang. Luo Yunsong supported this, citing it as a "tradition" in their hometown. Luo Jiutian then pointed a gun at Zhou Qiuhai's head, demanding the dragon bone. Zhou Qiuhai bravely offered his body to "meet your bullets" for the honor of the Penta-sect.
Luo Jiutian escalated his threats, promising to kill Zhou Qiuhai and all his disciples, then force Wu Shuang to be his "wife." As Luo Jiutian began counting down, Wu Shuang, unwilling to witness her master's death, relented and handed over the dragon bone. Elated, Luo Jiutian repeatedly called her "Wifey" and "Darling."
Luo Yunsong then revealed his true intention: to use Wu Shuang as bait to lure Ding Yunqi, assuring Zhou Qiuhai that Wu Shuang would be returned once Ding Yunqi appeared. He instructed Zhou Qiuhai to bid farewell to Wu Shuang, as she would be leaving in a "sedan chair for the bride," which Luo Jiutian had arranged. Alone with her disciples, Wu Shuang realized the sinister plot.
She quickly instructed two disciples to warn Ding Yunqi not to come and to begin digging a secret tunnel from the Taiyi Private Bank to Mr. Zhou's house at the end of the street, ensuring an escape route. Meanwhile, Ding Yunqi, still unaware of the recent events, was on his way to the private bank with San Jin to retrieve the dragon bone.
He first asked San Jin about his dreams of opening a bun shop and raising a family, offering him two gold bars to pursue this life after getting the dragon bone, explaining that "too many people are getting involved in this" and he didn't want to endanger San Jin. Despite San Jin's protests and insistence on staying, Ding Yunqi firmly sent him back.
Sensing something amiss as they approached the bank, Ding Yunqi discreetly swapped clothes with their cart driver, adopting his disguise. The driver warned him not to sweat and ruin the fine clothes. Ding Yunqi then drove the cart, circling the private bank. Observing the police presence, he confirmed Wu Shuang was being held captive and resolved to go alone.
As Luo Jiutian prepared to escort Wu Shuang in a "sedan chair for a ghost marriage," he mockingly told her it was meant for Ding Yunqi, who "must die" before Luo Jiutian could marry her. Knowing her "strong character," he cruelly fastened a "Kunshi Clip" on her wrists, explaining that its internal thorns would inflict more pain if she struggled. With Wu Shuang's master sent away, the sedan departed, circling the private bank.
Meanwhile, Ding Yunqi, still in disguise, saw the sedan and the clip. He was then approached by Wu Shuang's Senior Brother, who relayed Wu Shuang's warning not to enter Shunxin Lane, calling it a "trap" set by Luo Yunsong. Ding Yunqi confidently dismissed this, having already assessed the situation, stating, "It's not a dead end. There is a solution." He instructed the Senior Brother to tell Wu Shuang that the tunnel to Mr. Zhou's house was ready.
Luo Jiutian, noticing Ding Yunqi, gave chase. Ding Yunqi boldly intercepted the sedan, kicking it over and quickly rescuing Wu Shuang. He fended off Luo Jiutian with a kick, then led Wu Shuang into Mr. Zhou's house and down the newly completed secret tunnel. Safe in the tunnel, Ding Yunqi carefully removed the painful Kunshi Clip from Wu Shuang's wrists. Once free, Wu Shuang confronted him, asking if he had come to marry her, a question that bewildered him.
She insisted that everyone in the Penta-sect knew the dragon bone was a betrothal gift, and therefore, by accepting it, she must marry him. Ding Yunqi denied any knowledge of this rule, stating he was not part of the Penta-sect, and that he only gave her the dragon bone under duress because she was the only person he knew. He questioned if she actually wanted to marry him.
Wu Shuang admitted that while she considered him a "reliable brother" and had never thought of marrying him, her master had betrothed her, and she "must listen to him" and uphold her word. She scolded Ding Yunqi for his lack of responsibility, urging him to accept the "coincidence" of their situation. Ding Yunqi explained his firm opposition to "old-fashioned marriage," advocating for dating before marriage, a concept Wu Shuang, raised in the Penta-sect, didn't understand.
He further declared his dislike for the "rotten rules" of the Penta-sect, stating he would "never join Penta-sect or become a Heaven Official," believing this would invalidate any engagement. Wu Shuang argued that as the Heaven Official's son, he should know better. She accused him of changing and becoming "annoying," while she remained steadfast.
Meanwhile, an officer from Luo Yunsong arrived to inform Zhou Qiuhai that they were withdrawing their men and the bank could resume business, and that Luo Jiutian's marriage proposal was off the table – however, the two arrested disciples were not released. Ding Yunqi and Wu Shuang exited the tunnel, cautiously sneaking past Zhou Qiuhai, who was clipping flowers, trying to avoid being seen by him.
Wu Shuang insisted on joining Ding Yunqi to retrieve the dragon bone, as it was "her betrothal gift," emphasizing her firm stance on the matter. Unable to dissuade Wu Shuang, Ding Yunqi finally agreed to let her accompany him to retrieve the dragon bone, but with the strict condition that she must obey him and "not mention the engagement again." Wu Shuang conceded but reminded him that he "owes her a wedding."
Upon returning to the clock tower, they encountered San Jin, who immediately confronted Wu Shuang, still upset about their previous encounter. Wu Shuang explained that she intentionally "avoided the vital point to save your life" when she attacked him, and clarified that his six brothers were not killed but merely injured and "released long ago" by her master. San Jin then demanded to know about the dragon bone, only to be infuriated when Wu Shuang admitted she "lost it."
San Jin, claiming his deep bond with Ding Yunqi's father, asserted his authority on matters concerning the dragon bone. Wu Shuang then pointed out that both their names appeared on a blackboard, hinting at their shared significance. Elsewhere, a heavily intoxicated Luo Jiutian dismissed his guard, insisting he was fine despite his injuries. As he stumbled towards his car, he angrily noted a "broken car" blocking his way, only to realize it was his own.
Confused, he noticed "people are on board" inside. Before he could fully process this, he was ambushed by unidentified men, who silenced his protests and forcibly took him away in the car.
