> Lost in The Kunlun Mountains Recap

Ding Yunqi decisively chose Wu Shuang over the Soul Pursuit Order, placing the artifact back in its original spot. Wu Shuang, deeply moved by his choice, embraced him. Just then, Zhou Qiuhai arrived with his disciples. Seeing Ding Yunqi holding Wu Shuang's hand, Zhou Qiuhai understood what had happened. Ding Yunqi declared that he accepted the outcome of their bet. After exiting the underground palace, Zhou Qiuhai mocked Ding Yunqi for his perceived failure.

Ding Yunqi, however, responded that he felt no regret, as the choice between the Soul Pursuit Order and Wu Shuang was a "dead end" situation where one had to be sacrificed. Zhou Qiuhai lectured him that "love makes heroes short-tempered" and that the rules of the Penta-sect must be obeyed.

Ding Yunqi then questioned why all the mechanisms in the underground palace seemed tailor-made for the Ding family, pointing out that the Nine-grid Gate and willow catkins were secrets exclusive to their lineage. He suspected it was a replica of the Kunlun Mountains. Zhou Qiuhai confirmed this, admitting that a past Mound-digging leader had discovered blueprints of the Kunlun Mountains and began constructing a copy. The project was passed down through generations and only recently completed.

He vented his frustration, questioning why the secrets of the Kunlun Mountains were known only to Heaven Officials and why a Heaven Official should lead the Penta-sect. He asserted that the Kunlun Mountains belonged to the Penta-sect, not the Heaven Officials, and he would not allow Ding Yunqi to use its wealth to help outsiders. Declaring it a world of survival of the fittest, Zhou announced that the Penta-sect's rules would change, with its fortune protected by the strongest.

Ding Yunqi realized that both he and his father had fundamentally misjudged Zhou Qiuhai, who coveted the Kunlun Mountains for himself. Zhou Qiuhai coldly stated that Ding Yunqi would be taken to the Mound-digging Region and would never be allowed to leave. Ding Yunqi was blindfolded and shackled before being escorted to the Mound-digging Region, a prison situated on a high cliff. Upon reaching the summit, his restraints were removed.

Jiang Daxuewen informed Ding Yunqi that meals would be provided and that he would send pen and paper, assuring him that reasonable requests would be met. Ding Yunqi thanked him and asked him to look after Wu Shuang, telling her not to worry as he would find a way to escape. Meanwhile, Sun Sanxuan and Luo Yunsong worried about Ding Yunqi.

Hong Sanmei arrived, sent by Wu Shuang, to report that Ding Yunqi had lost his bet with Zhou Qiuhai and was now confined to the Mound-digging Region indefinitely. Sun Sanxuan explained that the Mound-digging Region was their prison, recounting a tale from the Qing Dynasty where a corrupt official was imprisoned there, and even his son's battalion of soldiers couldn't rescue him. Undeterred, Luo Yunsong declared they would rescue Ding Yunqi.

This sparked a bold plan: to kidnap Zhou Qiuhai himself and exchange him for Ding Yunqi, banking on the element of surprise. Luo Yunsong tasked his people with mapping the headquarters' defenses and monitoring Zhou Qiuhai's movements, suggesting they disguise themselves as merchants to gather information without arousing suspicion. At the Mound-digging headquarters, senior disciple Xing Chen discovered that Hong Sanmei had been sent by Wu Shuang to tip off Luo Yunsong.

He prepared to take Hong Sanmei to be punished, but Wu Shuang stepped in, insisting on taking full responsibility to prevent others from being implicated. She went to face Zhou Qiuhai, who did not punish her for sending the message. However, distraught over Ding Yunqi's fate, Wu Shuang then stunned everyone by requesting to marry him and join him in the Mound-digging Region for life. Her plea infuriated Zhou Qiuhai, who angrily granted her request.

Despite his anger, Zhou Qiuhai, who had raised Wu Shuang, still cared for her deeply. He later privately instructed Jiang Daxuewen to arrange a proper wedding, ensuring she wasn't slighted. As Jiang Daxuewen began making lavish wedding preparations in town, news of Wu Shuang's impending marriage spread like wildfire. San Jin rushed back and told Luo Yunsong’s group. Upon hearing this, Chu Fengling immediately informed Luo Jiutian, hoping he could intervene.

Luo Jiutian confronted Wu Shuang, pleading with her not to ruin her life by moving to the Mound-digging Region, which he called a "rat cave." He confessed that being without her made him feel dead inside. Wu Shuang remained unswayed, stating she was willing to sacrifice everything for Ding Yunqi. Desperate, Luo Jiutian pulled out his gun, threatening to kill himself if she wouldn't reconsider, promising he would rescue Ding Yunqi so they could marry properly below.

Wu Shuang gently took the gun, explaining that without Ding Yunqi, she was a walking corpse, feeling as if she died every day. Her words struck a chord with Luo Jiutian, who admitted he felt the same way without her. Defeated and understanding her pain, he relented. As the wedding hour approached, Wu Shuang asked Luo Jiutian to place the Phoenix Coronet on her head and send her off.
