> Lost in The Kunlun Mountains Recap

Wu Shuang reported to her master, Zhou Qiuhai, everything she had witnessed at Dengkun Pavilion, including the revelation about Tian Long. Zhou Qiuhai admitted he had only heard of Tian Long in his early years as a formidable martial artist who coveted the Kunlun Mountains, but the name had not been mentioned for many years. He regretted his past actions against Luo Yunsong, now knowing Luo Yunsong was Shou Wujiang's son.

Wu Shuang assured him that Luo Yunsong and Ding Yunqi had reconciled and Luo Yunsong was committed to helping Ding Yunqi find Tian Long for revenge. Zhou Qiuhai, however, expressed concern that Chu Fengling, driven by the recent death of Auntie Hei, might seek assistance from Her Ladyship to mobilize troops. He instructed Wu Shuang to return to Ding Yunqi's side immediately, monitor Chu Fengling's movements, and report any significant actions.

Meanwhile, Ding Yunqi, having read Shou Wujiang's blood letter, deduced that both his father and Lao Beifeng must have known Tian Long. Luo Yunsong added that Tian Long must have known them intimately, which is why he was able to intentionally use the Ding family's distinctive "willow catkins" fighting style to frame Ding Yunqi's father, solidifying Luo Yunsong's belief that Ding Yunqi’s father was responsible for his family’s demise.

Upon returning to the group, Wu Shuang chastised Sun Sanxuan for his formation, which had inadvertently injured her master and caused Auntie Hei’s death. Sun Sanxuan defended himself, arguing the formation was for protection and that Zhou Qiuhai's crossbows had also caused injuries to his men. Wu Shuang remained upset, but Luo Yunsong diffused the tension, stating that Auntie Hei's death was an accident, and acknowledging Chu Fengling's deep bond with her.

Luo Yunsong then suggested it would be best for Wu Shuang not to approach Chu Fengling at that moment, as she was highly emotional. Separately, Chu Fengling followed a secret marking to a secluded forest, expecting to meet a special agent dispatched by Her Ladyship. To her astonishment, she found Luo Jiutian, whom she believed to be dead.

Luo Jiutian explained that Commander Hu, instead of killing him, had handed him over to Her Ladyship, who then assigned him to covertly protect her. He had been tracking her group since their journey began. Luo Jiutian expressed profound emotion, recalling how touched he was to see Chu Fengling weeping at his grave and vowing revenge, realizing for the first time that someone genuinely cared for him.

Chu Fengling then questioned Luo Jiutian about recent attacks on the Black Feather Team and Mound-digging. He admitted responsibility, stating he had orchestrated the disruptions to force the groups into action, as he and his men were weary of hiding in the wilderness. Chu Fengling, still consumed by grief for Auntie Hei, ordered Luo Jiutian to help her exterminate Mound-digging. However, Luo Jiutian, having faced death, revealed a profound shift in his perspective.

He confessed to being terrified of dying and now cherished life, asserting that vengeance was not worth further bloodshed, especially as targeting Mound-digging would make an enemy of Wu Shuang, whom he still harbored feelings for. He clarified that Her Ladyship's orders were to protect Chu Fengling, not to commit murder on her behalf. Luo Jiutian implored Chu Fengling to abandon her obsession with the Kunlun Mountains and Ding Yunqi, warning her it would lead to no good.

Chu Fengling accused him of changing, to which he retorted that he felt she had changed more. He ended their meeting by reminding her that Her Ladyship expected a full account of their conversation. Later, Chu Fengling confronted Ding Yunqi and Luo Yunsong, demanding half of Ding Yunqi's authority. She threatened to report to Her Ladyship and mobilize troops to besiege Mound-digging to seize their Soul Pursuit Order, which would give her two of the five needed.

Ding Yunqi vehemently rejected her threats, stating his goal in seeking the Kunlun Mountains was to prevent further loss of life, not to cause it. He declared that if she intended to sacrifice hundreds of lives, he would abandon the quest for Kunlun. Luo Yunsong intervened, urging Chu Fengling to reconsider her extreme stance and reminded her that Auntie Hei’s death was an accident.

He told her his respect for her wasn’t tied to the Soul Pursuit Order and advised her to keep it as her amulet, even though the Penta-sect was disbanded and it should, by rights, go to Ding Yunqi. Chu Fengling bitterly reminded Luo Yunsong of his past teachings about becoming strong and ruthless to survive, implying her current aggressive mindset was a direct result of his influence.

Luo Yunsong acknowledged his past errors, admitting his previous actions were driven by the mistaken belief that Ding Yunqi’s father was his family’s killer. He expressed regret, viewing Luo Jiutian's supposed death and Auntie Hei's actual death as "karma" for his mistakes. He pledged to find their true enemy, Tian Long, and locate the Kunlun Mountains, all while ensuring no more of their people would suffer. Luo Yunsong received a telegram from Her Ladyship intended for Chu Fengling.

The message, from the Department of Internal Affairs of the National Government, expressed dissatisfaction with the special team's month-long lack of progress and urged diligence. Chu Fengling, dictating a reply, attributed the lack of results to complex clues, interwoven paths, and interference from various martial arts factions, but assured Her Ladyship they were "clearing obstacles one by one" and would fulfill their mission.

Wu Shuang later confided in Ding Yunqi, expressing her unease over Chu Fengling's drastic change in demeanor, questioning how someone could become so cold and indifferent to life. Ding Yunqi attributed it to the trauma Chu Fengling had recently endured. He reassured Wu Shuang that he would not engage in conflict with her master, Zhou Qiuhai, or allow any Mound-digging lives to be sacrificed, emphasizing that too many lives had already been lost over the Kunlun Mountains throughout history.

Luo Yunsong, with Luo Jiutian and his men secretly observing, oversaw the burial of his father, Shou Wujiang, in a spot chosen by Zhou Qiuhai. He spoke to his father's tomb, apologizing for not adhering to Penta-sect funeral traditions, believing his father would have preferred it that way. He entrusted his father with the care of his mother and younger sister in the afterlife, promising to protect Chu Fengling and to relentlessly pursue and kill Tian Long.

The next morning, Chu Fengling surprisingly offered an apology to Ding Yunqi and Wu Shuang for her earlier impulsiveness and harsh words, hoping their friendship remained intact. Both Ding Yunqi and Wu Shuang accepted her apology, with Ding Yunqi suggesting her behavior stemmed from recent hardships. Chu Fengling then stressed the importance of mutual trust on their arduous journey to find the Kunlun Mountains.

Ding Yunqi announced their plan to observe seven days of mourning for Shou Wujiang before proceeding to the Mound-digging headquarters. Despite Chu Fengling's apology, Wu Shuang remained skeptical, whispering to Ding Yunqi that Chu Fengling's true sincerity would be evident if she returned the Soul Pursuit Order. Before their departure to Mound-digging headquarters, Luo Yunsong warned Ding Yunqi that Zhou Qiuhai's stubborn nature meant he would likely pressure Ding Yunqi to become the Heaven Official and reunite the Penta-sect.

Sun Sanxuan suggested using their recent act of saving Mound-digging as leverage, but Ding Yunqi firmly rejected this, deeming it beneath him to exploit a life-saving act for negotiation. Concurrently, Chu Fengling approached Wu Shuang, asking about her feelings toward returning home to Mound-digging. Wu Shuang expressed her love for her home. Chu Fengling then posed a hypothetical question: if Zhou Qiuhai forced Wu Shuang to choose between Mound-digging and Ding Yunqi, whom would she pick?

Wu Shuang offered no direct answer, confident her master would never harm Ding Yunqi. The group arrived at Mound-digging, where Jiang Xuewen greeted them and led them to their arranged lodging. Wu Shuang immediately inquired about Zhou Qiuhai's health, and Jiang Xuewen assured her that her master was recovering well with the best medical care Mound-digging's wealth could provide.

Inside their temporary residence, He Biao, ever vigilant, confronted an old man named Chen working in the kitchen, suspecting him to be a spy. Jiang Xuewen clarified that Chen was simply a cook arranged by Zhou Qiuhai to assist them and that Mound-digging would not stoop to such underhanded tactics. He explained that the local villagers, beneficiaries of Mound-digging's benevolence for generations, were fiercely loyal and would protect their home without needing clandestine surveillance.

Jiang Xuewen confirmed that Zhou Qiuhai was stable and the scheduled meeting for the next day would proceed as planned. Wu Shuang departed with Jiang Xuewen to visit her master, while He Biao, still cautious, suggested thoroughly checking their surroundings.
