In a flashback, Qingfei recalls a meeting with Beili's Crown Prince, who expressed condolences for the death of Xiqiu's emperor. The prince reminded her of the long-standing alliance between their nations, proposing that even with Xiqiu weakened, revenge was possible. He urged her to marry into Tianning, allowing them to collaborate from within and annihilate the kingdom, thus avenging her father.

Later, speaking with her senior maid, Qingfei acknowledged the suffering she would endure but affirmed her willingness to sacrifice anything, even her life, for Xiqiu and her father's memory. Meanwhile, Prince Qin's Mansion buzzed with the chaotic arrival of Tang Li and Ning Jing. Ning Jing relentlessly pursued a resistant Tang Li, who insisted he only saw her as a "little sister," despite their shared childhood of eating, bathing, and studying together.

Citing urgent business, Tang Li tried to send her away, but Ning Jing, grabbing his hair, declared her intention to stay and help their senior, Long Feiye, who had been framed. Tang Li then shifted tactics, blaming Ning Jing for disrupting Long Feiye's plans and causing Han Yunxi's injury, claiming he now had to stay to fix the mess. Undeterred, Ning Jing announced she would remain by his side, much to his dismay. Elsewhere, Han Yunxi recovered from her injuries.

Zhao Mama confessed to giving Han Yunxi’s face veil and Poison Scripture to Long Feiye, which relieved Yunxi, who hoped it would end his suspicions. Zhao Mama also revealed that Long Feiye had watched over her all night and would have been the first person she saw upon waking if not for urgent matters, leaving Yunxi to wonder if his care had been a dream.

Soon after, Ning Jing visited, expressing admiration for Yunxi's boldness, especially her act of kicking open her own sedan chair door to enter the mansion. After hearing how Tang Li had abandoned their wedding, Han Yunxi secretly gave Ning Jing a potent powder called "Nonstop Diarrhea," advising her to use it on Tang Li if he became disobedient. In the palace, the Empress Dowager grilled Noble Consort Xiao for neglecting the Emperor during his smallpox scare.

Qingfei skillfully intervened, claiming she had a history of smallpox and had begged Noble Consort Xiao for the chance to care for the Emperor, thus framing the act as a gesture of sisterly kindness. Although the Empress Dowager publicly praised them, she privately saw through Qingfei's ploy to gain favor and create a rift between the Emperor and Noble Consort Xiao.

Seeing an opportunity to shift the harem's power dynamics, the Empress Dowager decided to subtly support Qingfei while remaining wary of her true motives. She then dispatched her aide to the Qin Mansion to gather intelligence on Han Yunxi. Back at the mansion, Long Feiye found Tang Li, who was complaining bitterly about Ning Jing. He declared he would rather die than marry the "violent girl" and that he wanted a partner he truly loved.

When Ning Jing found him, he defiantly announced he was going to Wanyan House, a brothel, prompting a furious Ning Jing to use the "Nonstop Diarrhea" powder on him. Later, Long Feiye questioned Han Yunxi about her refusal to answer the Empress Dowager's summons. Their conversation about who had changed her clothes and tended her wound was interrupted when a pale Tang Li stumbled in, clutching his stomach and collapsing onto Long Feiye.

After Han Yunxi quickly provided an antidote, she excused herself. Furious that Han Yunxi had defied her summons, the Empress Dowager decided to target her Third Aunt to gain leverage and summoned Minister Beigong. Meanwhile, Gu Qishao's subordinate, Bai Su, reported that Long Feiye hadn't left his mansion, leading her to believe the captured courtesan, Yu Ze, was imprisoned there. Gu Qishao dismissed this, assuming Long Feiye was simply caring for his injured consort.

Bai Su warned him not to be swayed by Han Yunxi, but their discussion was inconclusive. In reality, Yu Ze was being held in the mansion, where she was on a hunger strike. Chu Xifeng ordered his men to force-feed her rice soup to keep her alive to testify. Nearby, Tang Li confronted Han Yunxi, accusing her of being a "vicious woman" for helping Ning Jing poison him.

Ning Jing fiercely defended Yunxi, arguing Tang Li deserved it for threatening to go to a brothel. Yunxi cautioned Ning Jing against misusing poisons and revealed she had already given Tang Li the antidote. The Empress Dowager's plot unfolded as Minister Beigong framed Taihe Hospital, the business of Han Yunxi's Third Aunt's family.

A woman publicly accused the hospital of killing her mother-in-law over a simple cold, and soon after, the respected Doctor Li was found dead at home, an apparent suicide. The case was rushed to the Grand Court, where Han Yunxi's distraught aunt begged her for help. At the trial, Minister Beigong hastily declared Doctor Li guilty of malpractice and suicide, ordering Taihe Hospital to be permanently closed and fined. Witnessing the blatant injustice, Han Yunxi boldly intervened.

Having been dismissed by Minister Beigong, who refused to recognize her and cited the Empress Dowager’s order for a swift verdict, Han Yunxi stood with her Third Aunt and pounded the grievance drum at the Grand Court. She was confident Long Feiye would intervene, as she had already shrewdly approached Chu Xifeng and framed the court’s dismissal of her identity as a direct insult to Prince Qin himself.

At the Grand Court, Minister Beigong, furious at the disruption, again ordered guards to remove Han Yunxi. Just as they advanced, Long Feiye made a dramatic entrance. He sternly rebuked the minister for his disrespect towards his consort. A terrified Minister Beigong immediately fell to his knees, profusely apologizing for his oversight.

Long Feiye, dismissing the personal offense, instructed him to proceed with the trial, emphasizing that it was a matter of life and death and that justice must be served without deference to his presence.
