In Prince Qin's Mansion, Long Feiye observed Baili Mingxiang and Tang Li practicing calligraphy. Baili Mingxiang’s handwriting was growing remarkably similar to Long Feiye’s. When Long Feiye inquired about the progress of the newly established medicine room, Chu Xifeng reported that all necessary herbs had been collected and arranged within Xianyun Pavilion. Long Feiye then asked about Princess Consort Qin’s whereabouts. Chu Xifeng revealed that she had gone to Herb-Ghost Valley.

Tang Li playfully remarked that Princess Consort Qin must have dressed up for a secret rendezvous, a comment that caused Long Feiye to feel a mix of emotions. Meanwhile, in Qinghui Palace, Consort Qing secretly read a note from the Crown Prince, learning that Noble Consort Xiao intended to harm her. Instead of alerting the Emperor, Consort Qing resolved to devise a counter-strategy. Later, Gu Qishao brought a heavily intoxicated Princess Consort Qin to the entrance of Prince Qin's Mansion.

Still craving more alcohol, Princess Consort Qin resisted leaving. Long Feiye, observing their interaction, became visibly agitated and nearly engaged Gu Qishao in a confrontation. He warned Gu Qishao to release Princess Consort Qin if he valued his life, prompting Gu Qishao to leave. Long Feiye then carried Princess Consort Qin into the mansion. Despite their reunion, the couple immediately began to argue, both having been seen in intimate situations with members of the opposite sex.

Princess Consort Qin drunkenly accused Long Feiye of being too close to other women. As Tang Li, Ning Jing, and Baili Mingxiang arrived, Princess Consort Qin, in her inebriated state, declared Long Feiye was hers and dramatically pushed Baili Mingxiang away before passionately kissing Long Feiye, asserting her intention to secure her position by having children with him.

Ning Jing, witnessing the scene, was left wide-eyed with shock, while Tang Li attempted to shield Ning Jing’s eyes, only for her to resist. Ning Jing then confronted Baili Mingxiang, questioning why she continued to cling to Long Feiye after his marriage, which Baili Mingxiang dismissed as a misunderstanding. The following morning, Baili Mingxiang rose early to prepare tonic soup for Long Feiye, expressing concern for his recent appearance.

However, a mammy informed her that Princess Consort Qin, with her exceptional medical skills, was perfectly capable of caring for His Highness, rendering Baili Mingxiang’s efforts unnecessary. The mammy further elaborated on the growing affection between Long Feiye and Princess Consort Qin, noting how His Highness had even accompanied her back to her family’s home, a clear sign of his acknowledgment of her status.

The mammy also recounted how Long Feiye had stayed by Princess Consort Qin’s side the entire night she was drunk, implying the possibility of an heir soon, which would surely win Consort Dowager Yi’s approval. Baili Mingxiang realized she had severely underestimated Princess Consort Qin. Baili Mingxiang then attempted to provoke Princess Consort Qin, who was still recovering from her drunken stupor, but Princess Consort Qin’s friend Ning Jing was also present, thwarting Baili Mingxiang’s efforts.

Simultaneously, Ning Jing oversaw the relocation of Princess Consort Qin’s belongings from Xianyun Pavilion to Long Feiye’s personal room in Moon Pavilion, a deliberate move to gauge Long Feiye’s true feelings for Princess Consort Qin. Ning Jing reminded Princess Consort Qin of her drunken claims the previous night, including her desire to live with Long Feiye and make him her "husband of a bandit chief."

Mortified, Princess Consort Qin denied ever uttering such embarrassing words and expressed apprehension about facing Long Feiye. Ning Jing, however, urged her to stay and see if Long Feiye would allow it, as a true test of his affection. When Long Feiye returned and discovered Princess Consort Qin's belongings in his room, he subtly suppressed a smile but outwardly instructed her to move them back.

Princess Consort Qin defiantly refused, asserting her authority as Princess Consort Qin and claiming the right to sleep anywhere she desired within the mansion, even on his bed. Long Feiye, amused, teased her about wishing to share his bed. Princess Consort Qin, now sober and embarrassed, quickly clarified she would sleep on the couch, but adamantly refused to move out, declaring it a matter of her dignity as Princess Consort Qin.

Ning Jing, observing their exchange, expressed awe at Princess Consort Qin’s ability to make the usually taciturn and unsentimental Long Feiye listen to her. Inspired by a mammy’s advice on how to make men cherish their partners by creating "crisis awareness" through competitors, Ning Jing decided to test Tang Li’s feelings. She enlisted Chu Xifeng to accompany her to Hongfu Restaurant and immediately began ordering wine.

Chu Xifeng, citing official duties, attempted to leave, but Ning Jing insisted he stay, unilaterally declaring him her friend and demanding his protection should she become drunk. Soon after, Imperial Doctor Gu Beiyue arrived at the restaurant. Ning Jing wasted no time in introducing herself as Ouyang Ningjing, Princess Consort Qin’s junior, referencing their prior meeting at Prince Qin’s Mansion.

She then dismissively told Chu Xifeng to leave, claiming the occasion was "unsuitable" for him and that Gu Beiyue would look after her. Ning Jing proceeded to heavily toast Gu Beiyue, inquiring about his marital status and praising his handsome and graceful demeanor, remarking that he was unlike "those dudes."

She even shared a story from her childhood about how she once pranked "that little asshole," Tang Li, by putting a snake in his collar after he put a mouse in her bed, implying his current disobedience. Chu Xifeng, feeling distressed, rushed to Tang Li and exaggeratedly reported that Ning Jing was "touching Gu Beiyue’s thigh." Tang Li, immediately fearing for Ning Jing’s well-being, stormed into Hongfu Restaurant.

He confronted Ning Jing about her unruly behavior, attempting to physically remove her, but she resisted, asserting her right to have other friends and defiantly calling Tang Li "that little asshole" to his face. Gu Beiyue, upon hearing Ning Jing’s casual use of the epithet for Tang Li, discreetly excused himself, citing urgent matters at the Imperial Hospital. Tang Li then sat down with Ning Jing, engaging in a serious conversation.

He promised her that once his brother Long Feiye’s significant task was accomplished, he would return to Yunkong College and provide her with a proper explanation. Ning Jing, with tears welling in her eyes, chose to believe him, sealing their promise with a pinky swear. The following noon, Long Feiye was diligently instructing Tang Li on the principles of self-cultivation, family harmony, country governance, and world peace.

Princess Consort Qin arrived, her spirits high, to invite Long Feiye to the Lantern Festival the following night. Tang Li interjected, asserting his brother’s busy schedule. However, Princess Consort Qin explained that she had seldom ventured out since developing a carbuncle on her face and had never experienced the festive lanterns, earnestly requesting Long Feiye’s company if his duties were not too pressing. Long Feiye agreed to meet her at 7:00 p. m. at Rosefinch Bridge.

After Princess Consort Qin departed, Long Feiye displayed signs of his gu poison acting up. Tang Li, deeply concerned, reminded Long Feiye of the dangerous phase his gu poison was entering and advised him against leaving the mansion. Long Feiye stated he had an essential meeting with Minister Situ to attend, as he needed to gain the minister's trust.

Tang Li expressed apprehension about Long Feiye possibly transforming in public during the festival, but Long Feiye assured him he had the situation under control. Tang Li then sought out Baili Mingxiang to inquire about the "beauty blood" needed to suppress the gu poison. Baili Mingxiang confirmed that the medicinal concentration in her blood was sufficient and could be concocted into medicine within two days.

She also inquired if Long Feiye had obtained the Poison Master's Poison Scripture, which Tang Li affirmed, though Baili Mingxiang found it a useless collection of muddled writings. She reiterated her belief that her "beauty blood" would successfully cure Long Feiye. Simultaneously in the palace, Emperor Tianhui was strategizing with his elite "men of sacrifice" about transferring the Poison Master.

News had reached them through Beili spies that the Poison Master's location and the dungeon’s structure had been compromised, creating a critical situation. Emperor Tianhui revealed his plan to construct three new dungeons and use deceptive tactics to mislead those observing the Poison Master, with the ultimate goal of not only relocating the Poison Master but also apprehending all hidden enemies. Just then, a eunuch reported that Consort Qing had been poisoned. Emperor Tianhui immediately rushed to Qinghui Palace.

The Imperial Doctor informed him that Consort Qing had been poisoned by a complex mixture of potent toxins, and while he had managed to temporarily remove some poisonous blood via acupuncture, he could not find an antidote for the remaining poison. During this, Consort Qing and her mammy subtly steered the Emperor's suspicions towards Noble Consort Xiao.

Enraged by the absence of Chief Imperial Doctor Han Cong’an, Emperor Tianhui demanded that he be brought to the palace, even if he had to crawl. Another Imperial Doctor suggested summoning Princess Consort Qin, Han Cong’an’s daughter, due to her profound knowledge of toxicology, noting her success in detoxifying Young General Mu previously. Emperor Tianhui then issued an imperial decree, ordering Princess Consort Qin to enter the palace at once to treat Consort Qing.

The eunuch, Li Gonggong, swiftly arrived at Prince Qin’s Mansion to deliver the imperial decree. Princess Consort Qin, who had been enthusiastically preparing for her Lantern Festival date with Long Feiye, had to prioritize the urgent task of treating Consort Qing. Consort Dowager Yi, present at the reception of the decree, expressed deep concerns about Princess Consort Qin’s ability to treat Consort Qing, given her noble status as a Xiqiu princess.

She cautioned Princess Consort Qin that failure could ignite another war between Xiqiu and Tianning, potentially beyond even Long Feiye’s ability to mitigate. Princess Consort Qin, however, confidently assured Consort Dowager Yi that she would successfully cure Consort Qing and prevent any trouble for Long Feiye or the Consort Dowager. She then reiterated her need to return quickly for her Lantern Festival date, and Consort Dowager Yi advised her to be careful on her journey.
