Though the student suggested rekindling the romance, calling him a "high-quality man" who could win her back, Tang Ruize expressed doubt, believing she might no longer feel the same way about him. The next morning, Su Qingche awoke to find Song Xingchen busy in the kitchen, attempting to cook porridge. When she admitted it was "overcooked," he took over, assuring her his fever had subsided.
