However, as Qu Xingman walked away, Meng Chu kept his back turned to her—his actions made it clear that he had already made up his mind.
On Bai Jiusi’s side, he kept clamoring to see Li Qingyue. Ning Yan, having once been a member of the Nine Heavens, couldn’t bear to see Bai Jiusi constantly begging and finally brought him to Li Qingyue. The moment Li Qingyue saw Bai Jiusi, she still believed he was pretending to be confused and childlike. But as soon as they entered, Li Qingyue found Xiao Jingshan living happily with his family, the scene endlessly looping—a harmonious, loving family enjoying a joyful day. Li Qingyue found out what had happened to Xiao Jingshan’s family—his entire family had died on the same day. In a single day, he lost everyone he loved.
Upon learning this, Li Qingyue finally understood the source of Xiao Jingshan’s obsession with destroying the Infinite Stele. Having lost all his loved ones, he had long since lost all reason to revenge. Xiao Jingshan went to the Yinlian Sect, hoping that Qu Xingman and her mother A Ke would cooperate with him. But A Ke had already seen through his ambition and evil nature and refused to work with him.
This time, Xiao Jingshan wasn’t there to negotiate—he intended to use the Yinlian Sect to carry out his revenge. Li Qingyue also found her mount, the little white snake. Sensing that something great and terrible was about to happen, she poured her heart out to the white snake. Meanwhile, Qu Xingman was in her room packing to leave, anxiously watching Meng Chu’s door. Not seeing him, she felt disappointed.
Just then, Qu Xingman received a message from the sect instructing her not to return, which made her even more worried. Suddenly, something happened in the Hell Ruins. Fan Jiaojiao was shocked when he heard the news and rushed to investigate. Strange events began to occur throughout the mortal realm—people in various places experienced soul-separation from their bodies. Qu Xingman also came to find Li Qingyue, hoping she could help her sect. All signs pointed to one thing: Xiao Jingshan had made his move.
