Dear Mayang Street Episode 10 Recap
> Dear Mayang Street Recap
Ma Xiaoxiao and the others found shelter in Grandma Ou's grocery store as a fierce street fight erupted, with residents of Zhengyang Street and Mayang Street fighting together against a group of thugs. After the thugs were driven away, a surprising camaraderie formed between the two streets, as they got to know each other through the shared fight. One man from Zhengyang Street even offered eggs as compensation for Yi Nannan's head injury, acknowledging their unexpected alliance.
Ou Xiaojian sternly reprimanded Yi Siqian for wandering off, causing everyone concern. He warned her about the dangers and what could happen if she were alone. Ma Xiaoxiao interjected, pointing out that Ou Xiaojian had scared Siqian. At this moment, Zeng Xing appeared and made sarcastic remarks about Ou Xiaojian, highlighting his "mixed society" background and contrasting it with his own family's "integrity."
Ou Xiaojian was provoked, ready to retaliate, but Zeng Hao stepped in, admonishing her brother for his hurtful words and asking him to apologize. Ma Xiaoxiao defended Ou Xiaojian, explaining that his actions were often out of a sense of justice, even if he scared Siqian. Meanwhile, Yi Nannan was discovered with a bleeding head from the skirmish, prompting immediate concern. Later, Ma Xiaoxiao tried to reassure Ou Xiaojian, urging him not to take Zeng Xing's words to heart.
Ou Xiaojian replied that he only cared about what Ma Xiaoxiao said. Yi Siqian, still afraid to go home, was brought to Ma Xiaoxiao's house. Siqian confided that her mother, Hao Pushi, always favored her brothers and seemed to dislike her for being a girl. Ma Xiaoxiao comforted her, telling her that girls need to be strong and bravely prove themselves, even if they can't change others' perceptions.
Meanwhile, Li Zhaohang met with Ou Xiaojian, showing him a photo of a man named Ma Pi. Li Zhaohang explained that while Brother Mouse was apprehended, the mastermind behind Ma Pi remained at large, and Ou Xiaojian's mission was to gain Ma Pi's trust. Ou Xiaojian expressed his confusion about who his friends and enemies truly were, to which Li Zhaohang advised him to always remember justice, fairness, and truth.
Yi Siqian then revealed to Ma Xiaoxiao that Ou Xiaojian had bravely saved her from the thugs, concluding that he was a loyal and righteous person despite his "gangster" associations. Ma Xiaoxiao was touched by Siqian's honesty and praised her. Yi Dongdong soon arrived to take Siqian home. There, Siqian confronted Hao Pushi about her broken hairpin, which her mother had previously dismissed.
Siqian also reminded Hao Pushi that the hairpin was a gift from her mother, not stolen money, causing Hao Pushi to realize her mistake. After some gentle persuasion from Ma Xiaoxiao about the importance of forgiveness, Hao Pushi humbly apologized to Siqian, and they reconciled. Separately, A Fei, along with his men, confronted Ou Xiaojian, accusing him of betraying Brother Mouse and trying to seize his business. A Fei demanded Ou Xiaojian's hand as punishment.
Ou Xiaojian, however, declared that Ma Pi was the true problem, asserting that if Ma Pi was innocent, he would willingly surrender his hand. A Fei temporarily gave up on attacking Ou Xiaojian, intending to investigate the matter first. As the college entrance exam countdown began, Ma Dada and Yi Nannan rejoiced in their summer holiday, playfully teasing Ma Xiaoxiao and Yi Dongdong about their upcoming exams.
Ma Dada, having changed her 39-point exam score to 89, was discovered by Aunt Niu, who chased her around the house, accusing her of deceit and unfavorably comparing her to Ma Xiaoxiao. Ma Dada, exasperated, complained about the unfairness and her desire to rest during the holidays rather than do more practice books.
In another part of the neighborhood, Zeng Xing was meticulously feeding his fish, instructing Zeng Hao (his sister) to continue the task in his absence, much to their mother's amusement as she recalled Zeng Hao's previous mishaps with the fish. News reports highlighted the upcoming dance performance of renowned dancer Zhou Jie in Guangzhou. Ma Xiaoxiao was preparing to leave for the Peking University scholarship exam at Tianhe Sports Center, requiring an overnight stay.
Unbeknownst to her, Ma Dada accidentally packed Ma Xiaoxiao's admission ticket and the accommodation fee (which was in a notebook) into her own schoolbag. Later, on a bus, Ma Dada bravely apprehended a pickpocket but, in the commotion, lost her own two years' worth of savings. At the police station, as she lamented her misfortune, she discovered Ma Xiaoxiao's admission ticket and the money in her bag.
Realizing her grave error, she panicked and rushed out to try and catch a bus to reach Ma Xiaoxiao. Meanwhile, Yi Dongdong, reflecting on Ma Xiaoxiao's clear university aspirations, felt unsettled about his own progress and future. He sought an outlet by playing basketball, where Ou Xiaojian found him and offered words of encouragement, reminding him that temporary setbacks were fine as long as he kept moving forward. Finally, A Fei and his group returned to Ou Xiaojian's area.
Ma Pi, after being severely beaten, admitted that he had lied and apologized to Ou Xiaojian. With Ma Pi's confession, Ou Xiaojian's innocence was proven, and his hand was safe. A Fei, acknowledging the truth, shook hands with Ou Xiaojian, effectively ending their dispute.
