These vegetables had not been sold in time and were starting to spoil. With just a few easy words, Lin Shaobai sold many cans stockpiled at home, offering the vegetables as a bonus. Lin Shaobai planned to send some to Xu Wei, but learned that Xu Wei hadn't returned with them. Xu Wei was used by Wang Liqun back then and, unknowingly, indirectly became one of the murderers of the CCP members in the Western-style building.

After receiving the money from Wang Liqun and learning the truth, Xu Wei threatened Wang Liqun not to harm Lin Shaobai, or else he would turn against him without mercy. It was precisely because of this "relationship" that Zheng Lanting did not let Mao Sen's people know after discovering Xu Wei had secretly boarded the boat. Xu Wei knew what sort of shady dealings Wang Liqun and Zheng Lanting's group were up to.

He resolutely refused to go along with them. Zheng Lanting wasn't angry; Xu Wei was a very useful pawn, and Zheng Lanting had plenty of ways. Lin Shaobai was well aware of the explosion case from back then. The reason he delayed and didn't dare to confess was because this matter involved his good brother Xu Wei. Hu Zi tracked Lin Shaobai and discovered he was looking for a person named Xu Wei.

Lu Zhengyang connected the methods used in recent major cases and found that they bore a considerable resemblance to the methods used in the explosion case of that year. And Lin Shaobai had no discipline at all, so it was unlikely he was a Juntong agent. The Xu Wei that Lin Shaobai was searching for was very likely the reason Lin Shaobai had always wanted to conceal the truth about the explosion case of that year.
