Wang Liqun looked at the materials left by Lu Zhengyang and recalled that after his brother Wang Liheng died that year, Bo Lao had stopped him from pursuing the real killer. Although the witness Ma Jianqi had not yet arrived, Wang Liqun had already begun to suspect Bo Lao in his heart, to the point of shedding tears of remorse. The route for transferring Wang Liqun was set.

At night, they moved him quietly, and the plainclothes team guarding outside the hospital immediately withdrew. Jiang Yang and his subordinates discovered that the suspect had been transferred and immediately went after him. The convoy transferring Wang Liqun was ambushed on the road. Wang Liqun took the opportunity to take Jin Yan hostage, threatening Lu Zhengyang to open the back door so he could go back and do something.

It was obvious what this 'something' was: to confront Bo Lao face-to-face and confirm whether or not Bo Lao had killed his brother Wang Liheng. Jiang Yang arrived, hiding in the shadows, and shot at Wang Liqun who was holding Jin Yan hostage. Lu Zhengyang sensed something was wrong and speculated that there were two groups of people at the scene: one group wanted to rescue Wang Liqun, and the other wanted to kill Wang Liqun to silence him.

In the chaos, someone threw a bomb. Xu Wei used the smoke as cover and rode a motorcycle to rescue Wang Liqun. Along the way, Wang Liqun cursed Xu Wei for not knowing how to drive. Xu Wei, remembering Wang Liqun's previous threats and various insults, became angry and skidded, causing the motorcycle to crash, and both fell off the vehicle.

Wang Liqun didn't restrain himself, pinning Xu Wei down and continuing to curse, resulting in Xu Wei shooting him in the abdomen. Jiang Yang chased after them and witnessed Xu Wei killing Wang Liqun with his own eyes. Lu Zhengyang and the others rushed over, but Wang Liqun was already dead. However, before they arrived, Jiang Yang had already left. Explosive bullets were left at the scene of the exchange of fire.

This type of bullet is inhumane and has been banned, with only a small quantity still circulating on the black market. Xu Wei returned and told Bo Lao that the Falcon was dead. He explained that because Wang Liqun had been swayed by Lu Zhengyang and suspected that Bo Lao had killed Wang Liheng, Xu Wei killed him to prevent him from confessing about everyone.

Bo Lao planned to make Xu Wei the leader of the action team, but his qualifications were too shallow, and he might not be able to command respect, so they could only wait. The route for transferring Wang Liqun must have been leaked. During the planning of the route, Lin Shaobai was in solitary confinement, so he could be excluded from suspicion. Lu Zhengyang requested Deputy Director Yang to let Lin Shaobai join him for the internal investigation.

Lin Shaobai initially played hard to get, but then heard he would have to continue being confined, so he immediately called out to Lu Zhengyang and agreed to go with him for the internal investigation. Xu Wei wanted to secretly take away his wife Zhao Lan, but was stopped by Xiao Yun.

Her lie made Zhao Lan believe that Xu Wei was working for a secret anti-spy organization within the Public Security Bureau, so she agreed to go with Xiao Yun, relieving Xu Wei of his worries. Only Xu Wei knew in his heart that with Zhao Lan gone, Bo Lao would use her as leverage against him, and he would have to obey any of Bo Lao's instructions.

After the internal investigation, only Lao Xu and Lao Chen, who had gone to the bathroom, were suspects. Lin Shaobai and Lu Zhengyang went to investigate at the Taiping Bathhouse and found that the five minutes Lao Xu spent using the restroom was not enough time for Lao Chen to access the route map left in the luggage storage room.

Afterwards, they questioned the owner and learned that a Public Security officer named Bai Qingfang had come that day, looked at all the lockers, and his fingers were yellow, indicating he was a heavy opium user. Bai Qingfang was the most suspect, but before Lu Zhengyang and the others could find his residence, Xu Wei silenced him. Initially, it was thought that Bai Qingfang died from a morphine overdose.

Later, Jin Yan's examination found needle marks on his chest, indicating someone had directly injected morphine into his heart, causing his death. Lu Zhengyang said the next breakthrough would be the hospital's propaganda paintings. If they truly contained information transmitted to Wang Liqun, then it would be a breakthrough. Cen Xiaoman also took out several paintings found at the commercial firm, suspecting they were Bo Lao's work.
