Su Muyu confronted Elder Tang Tianlu, warning that he would grant them three moves to reconsider, after which their disagreement would be settled by life and death. The Tang Clan members, confident in their strength, retorted that they were prepared to fight regardless. As Su Muyu engaged the Tang Clan, Mu Qingyang, previously cornered and despairing, spotted Su Muyu and called out. Su Muyu swiftly intervened, forcing back the Tang Clan members and rescuing Mu Qingyang.

Mu Qingyang quickly reported that Mu Xuewei had been captured by Tang Clan members. Su Muyu deduced that the Tang Clan must value the unique poison within Mu Xuewei, meaning her life was not in immediate danger. He then warned the Tang Clan to ensure Mu Xuewei's safety.

Later, while discussing the incident with Su Changhe and others, Mu Qingyang elaborated that Night Crow, the physician known for refining drugged puppets, was the one who took Mu Xuewei, confirming her presence in Jin City. Su Muyu reiterated that given Night Crow's methods, Mu Xuewei would likely suffer torment, and they were surely being held within the Tang Clan. Su Changhe decided that their original plans must be postponed to prioritize investigating the Tang Clan and rescuing Mu Xuewei.

Inside the Tang Clan, Madam Tang Lingzun was furious that her subordinates had allowed Su Muyu and Mu Qingyang to escape in Jin City, deeming them incompetent. She declared that Blood River's sudden appearance had disrupted their plans, and they must be brought under control to prevent further interference. When a subordinate questioned whether they needed to concede to Night Crow, who held Mu Xuewei, Tang Lingzun asserted the Tang Clan's authority.

She ordered that Night Crow must complete her intentions with Mu Xuewei within three days, after which Mu Xuewei was to be handed over unharmed. Upon hearing a warning about Su Changhe's cunning nature, Tang Lingzun revealed her own ambition, stating that she was not afraid of profit-driven schemers like Su Changhe, as she too sought power and intended to claim the Tang Clan's leadership.

Meanwhile, Night Crow stood before her Senior, Xin Baicao, proudly showcasing Mu Xuewei, whom she identified as the rare "poisonous person" their master had once described. Night Crow intended to combine Mu Xuewei's unique constitution with her own drugged puppet craft, believing it would create a terrifying new entity.

She boasted about her superiority in the dark arts compared to Xin Baicao, demonstrating two drugged puppets, once Vajra Mortal-Stage masters, now impervious to harm and laced with potent toxins from a "Poisonous Blossom," capable of felling anyone below the Free and Unfettered stage within moments. Xin Baicao, deeply concerned, urged Night Crow to cease her work, reminding her that the dead should remain at rest.

However, Night Crow dismissed his plea, insisting her current work was not about her deceased husband, but about a far more fascinating discovery: an art that could make the living invulnerable and revive the dead. She believed her drugged puppet craft was infinitely more engaging than weapons or even love, and rejected Xin Baicao's accusation of madness.

Night Crow proposed a deal: if Xin Baicao helped her transform Mu Xuewei from a poisonous person back into a normal one, she would share her advanced methods for creating drugged puppets from living people. She taunted Xin Baicao, suggesting that by learning her techniques, he might eventually find a way to stop her.

Mu Xuewei, overhearing, declared her desire to be normal but warned that if Night Crow used her for vile purposes, she would use her remaining strength and poison to die alongside her. Night Crow brushed aside the warning, stating Mu Xuewei had no say in the matter, and reiterated her offer to Xin Baicao, emphasizing that his assistance would simply save the girl's life. First Prince Xiao Yong met with Grand Master Tang in the Tianqi Library.

Despite the strict prohibition against open flames in the library, Xiao Yong had it lit, claiming that his presence brought light to any place he stood. Grand Master Tang, finding Xiao Yong's confident demeanor unconvincing, questioned his true intentions for inviting him. Xiao Yong proposed an alliance with the Tang Clan, tempting Grand Master Tang with the promise of destroying Lei Fortress.

Grand Master Tang, however, cited the Tang Clan's existing alliance with Xueyue City and the difficulties of crossing Baili Dongjun. Ultimately, Grand Master Tang expressed profound disappointment in Xiao Yong, rejecting the alliance. He praised the integrity and wisdom of the Prince of Langya, Xiao Ruofeng, highlighting his contrasting qualities to Xiao Yong's ambition.

Enraged by the rejection, Xiao Yong declared Grand Master Tang too old to make correct choices, threatening that the Tang Clan's power was about to shift, and Grand Master Tang would die there that night. Grand Master Tang dismissed Xiao Yong's threats, mockingly calling his trap foolish. A Xiang, Grand Master Tang's aide, agreed that Xiao Yong's plan was foolish and would incur a heavy price.

One of Xiao Yong's men then warned that an entire army surrounded the location, making it impossible for Grand Master Tang to escape the wrath of Tianqi unless he could kill everyone present. Grand Master Tang remained defiant, choosing death over submission. Just as the confrontation reached its peak, the Furious Sword Deity Yan Zhantian unexpectedly intervened, saving Grand Master Tang from Xiao Yong's forces.

When questioned about his presence and a mysterious "disciple" by Xiao Yong's men, Yan Zhantian responded cryptically and swiftly departed with Grand Master Tang. After being rescued by Yan Zhantian, Grand Master Tang was brought to meet the Second Prince, Xiao Chong, who was blind since childhood. Xiao Chong humbly apologized for the impromptu meeting, explaining the suddenness of the night's events and the need for Yan Zhantian, his master, to arrange it.

Grand Master Tang, observing Xiao Chong, found his humility and easy manner to be somewhat feigned. Yan Zhantian interjected, stating that while Xiao Chong learned his swordplay, he had unfortunately inherited Registrar Jin Yu's temperament, which hindered his martial progress. Xiao Chong admitted his lack of talent in swordplay, but Grand Master Tang recognized an intriguing quality in him, distinct from the Prince of Langya. Meanwhile, at Dengjin Tower, Su Changhe and Su Muyu arrived to meet Tang Lingzun.

Su Changhe wryly noted the irony of being hosted by the Tang Clan for a banquet, only days after their disciples had tried to kill Blood River members. Tang Lingzun acknowledged that in their world, enemies and friends could quickly become interchangeable, citing Blood River's past aid during the Demonic Sect's eastern invasion. Su Changhe questioned whether relationships based solely on profit could truly be called friendship.

Tang Lingzun complimented Su Muyu on his handsome appearance, remarking on how well he looked after years. Su Changhe then directly asked Tang Lingzun if she was married, to which she replied she was not. He then probed Tang Lingzun, asking how she had known of his presence in Jin City. Tang Lingzun replied that everyone knew the Patriarch of Blood River and the Su family head were inseparable.

Su Changhe then pointedly demanded the return of their captured family member, Mu Xuewei, asserting Blood River's unwavering care for its own. Tang Lingzun then presented Mu Xuewei, who now appeared to be an "ordinary lady," having been stripped of her unique poison. Su Changhe, visibly angered, protected Mu Xuewei, declaring that no one was permitted to lay a hand on his family in his presence.

Tang Lingzun expressed surprise at Su Changhe's apparent loyalty and sense of justice, noting that it contradicted her intelligence reports which depicted him as a ruthless, profit-driven "Undertaker." Su Changhe playfully countered, asserting that Blood River members wore masks, and beneath his, he was genuinely a loyal and stand-up man. The conversation continued with banter, where Tang Lingzun admitted Su Changhe wasn't as good-looking as Su Muyu and declared herself the most "poisonous" person in the Tang Clan's Inner Hall.

As negotiations were about to continue, Mu Xuewei awoke and moved to stand behind Su Changhe. Tang Lingzun, noticing Su Muyu's absence, questioned Su Changhe's authority to make decisions independently. Su Changhe confidently asserted that his intentions and Su Muyu's were always aligned, and his decisions represented both their stances. Tang Lingzun, inherently suspicious, found this explanation peculiar, especially when Su Changhe dismissed her questions about Su Muyu's departure by suggesting he had simply gone to find lighter dishes. When Tang Lingzun questioned where such dishes could be found in Jin City, Su Changhe playfully retorted, "Perhaps the Tang Clan?"
