> Blood River Recap

Su Muyu, confined in the Shadow Prison, expressed his dissatisfaction with the daily meals of thin porridge and pickles, requesting fried tofu puffs, ideally stuffed with meat, and hot rice. When a guard cited his status as a prisoner to refuse, Water Official arrived, scolding the guard for the poor hospitality. He demonstrated the hardness of the corn buns by striking the guard with one, then ordered the requested food for Su Muyu.

A medic was dispatched to check on Su Muyu and confirmed that he was still affected by the Drunken Dream Bone poison, then left. Water Official informed Su Muyu that Yi Bo had used his life to coerce Su Changhe into assassinating Prince of Langya, and Su Changhe had accepted the task. Su Muyu was not surprised, knowing Su Changhe’s penchant for reckless acts, and believed he must have failed, otherwise Su Muyu would have been released.

Water Official confirmed the assassination attempt failed and Su Changhe was severely wounded. Su Changhe, however, used his injuries as a pretext to convince Yi Bo to allow more of Blood River’s elite killers into Tianqi City. In another part of the city, the Grand Prince discussed the nature of a desperado, defining them as individuals who plunge themselves into the most perilous situations to forge a path to survival.

He noted that Su Changhe, the Patriarch of Blood River, had already committed to the dangerous plan, signaling that "cards on the table" was imminent. Su Changhe told Mu Qingyang that a formidable assassin would be joining them. Moments later, Mu Ciling entered, carrying his distinctive long blade, and silenced Mu Qingyang’s excited exclamation. Su Changhe revealed that Su Muyu had sent a letter to Mu Ciling, promising to cure his Heart-Piercing Poison in exchange for his help.

Mu Ciling confirmed that this was his motivation, expecting the cure after the task was done. Su Changhe instructed Mu Ciling to intercept "troublesome types" and eliminate them if they proved uncoyielding. Mu Qingyang visited Mu Xuewei and Mu Yumo, who immediately asked about Su Muyu's whereabouts. Mu Qingyang was amused by everyone's persistent inquiries, then revealed that Su Muyu was held in the Shadow Sect's dungeon.

Mu Yumo and Mu Xuewei expressed their concern and desire to rescue him, but Mu Qingyang urged them to wait for the opportune moment and maintain their covert status, as their presence in Tianqi City was unknown to outsiders. He also reminded Mu Xuewei to wear her veil to avoid detection and informed her that the Xuanwu Guardian, whom she sought, was not in Tianqi.

Yi Bo convened with Xie Qidao, who had brought all his elites and declared his intent to let them experience the world. Yi Bo then instructed his subordinate to rigorously guard the Shadow Prison with the Eagle Eye team, forbidding even himself from approaching. He intended to gamble on the current emperor’s hidden desire for Prince of Langya’s demise. Luo Tianxiang arrived, delivering the Sect Leader’s decree: in three days, Prince of Langya would be ambushed at Fengxiao Temple.

Yi Bo subsequently summoned three renowned elders to defend the Wanjuan Tower. Meanwhile, Prince of Langya arrived at Fengxiao Temple to meet Master Forget-Joy. He playfully exposed Master Forget-Joy’s pretense of deep meditation, deducing that the master had actually dreamt of Tianxiang Restaurant's All-Vegetable Banquet. Prince of Langya also inquired about Master Forget-Worry and the young boy, remarking on the child’s martial genius, much like his father, Ye Dingzhi, but also acknowledging the inherent danger that comes with such power.

Suddenly, Su Zhe appeared, confronting Prince of Langya and Master Forget-Joy. He stated that he had believed their last encounter would be their final one, attributing his change of heart to "cursed fate." Wielding the Demon-Taming Staff, Su Zhe declared himself the "demon" in Prince of Langya's heart, there to purge it. The Blood River assassins, led by Su Zhe and Xie Qidao, launched their attack on Prince of Langya at Fengxiao Temple.

Ji Ruofeng, Guardian White Tiger, scoffed at their seemingly small numbers. The assassins responded that they never expected to succeed in killing Prince of Langya, as the cost would be too high for Blood River. Su Zhe reiterated that their meeting was due to "cursed fate." Master Forget-Joy mentioned his Prajna Heart Bell was not as good as his senior brother's and his internal energy was depleted.

Ji Ruofeng then expressed concern about bloodshed within the temple and challenged Su Zhe to unleash his legendary "Realm-Rending Sword Art" and "Heaven-Demon Sixteen Dances." Su Zhe warned that few had witnessed the true Demon Dance and lived, adding that even if Prince of Langya survived, the "Demon" would forever be a part of him. Ji Ruofeng quickly called for reinforcements.

Reading Su Muyu's letter, which proposed a grand performance to divert the Shadow Sect and destroy Wanjuan Tower, Su Changhe decided to head to Tianqi City to witness the spectacle. Mu Qingyang informed him that Su Zhe's fight at Fengxiao Temple was creating a massive disturbance, as promised. Su Changhe then issued a heaven-rank killing order, declaring it was time for the "real blade" to emerge.

Mu Qingyang, having waited a long time for this moment, looked forward to returning home after the fight. He found Tianqi City uninteresting, feeling constantly controlled, and intended to cut those strings today. Observing Mu Qingyang's new peachwood sword, Su Changhe questioned his choice to be a diviner despite his martial prowess. Mu Qingyang found the role liberating, allowing him to dream of ascending as an immortal.

A Shadow Sect subordinate reported to Yi Bo that the ambush at Fengxiao Temple was not going well for Blood River, who were outmatched by Prince of Langya's forces. Recognizing this as a signal for Shadow Sect involvement, Yi Bo ordered more troops, including the Shadow Guards from the Wanjuan Tower, to Fengxiao Temple.

He instructed them to engage directly, disregarding the risk of exposure, asserting that if Prince of Langya died, control of Tianqi's defenses would shift, making exposure irrelevant. Elsewhere, Bai Hehuai reunited with Mu Yumo, who released a tracking spider carrying a single drop of antidote for Su Muyu. Bai Hehuai worried whether the spider would locate him and if one drop was enough to counter the Drunken Dream Bone.

Mu Yumo explained the spider was uniquely bonded to Su Muyu, painstakingly trained over many years, but expressed confidence that Su Muyu, with his ingenuity, would find a way to make even that single drop effective. Water Official, disguised as Yi Bo, attempted to enter the Shadow Prison. However, the astute guard noticed that the imposter failed to mention their standing agreement forbidding even Yi Bo himself from entering. Exposed, Water Official shed his disguise and attacked the guard.

Water Official, now openly betraying the Shadow Sect, confessed to aligning with Su Changhe after the Yellow Springs Pawnshop incident, citing his admiration for Su Changhe's strength and Yi Bo's outdated methods. He revealed that Su Muyu's capture was a calculated move, a trap to ensnare and weaken the Shadow Sect, leaving them vulnerable. The wounded Earth Official appeared, condemning Water Official as a traitor, but Su Changhe arrived and swiftly killed him.

Water Official justified his actions by saying he only chooses the strong. He then ordered Mu Ying to meticulously remember the Earth Official’s face, to which Mu Ying replied he remembered "nine-tenths" of it, before Water Official concluded that the "real Heaven Official" no longer needed to exist. With Water Official's betrayal revealed, Su Muyu ingested the spider carrying the antidote. Channeling his father’s righteous sword energy, he shattered the confines of his prison, the very walls breaking apart. As if a sword fell from the sky, the mist broke, gone for good. He gazed at the world’s endless grief, then looked again, and the moon hung high.
