Hao Dong met with Lao Zhuo in Hong Kong. Lao Zhuo noted it had been almost three years since Hao Dong and Meng Ka had worked together. Hao Dong stated his intention was to cut out Yu Zong and ensure Lao Zhuo would not sell any of Yu Zong’s white powder. Lao Zhuo countered that what was sold in Hong Kong was his decision, and he had already paid Yu Zong. He insisted that white powder must be available.

Hao Dong, however, promised to secure the white powder himself, offering to supplement it with "Xiaoma" and "Dahuang Jiaonang," which he assured Lao Zhuo would be highly profitable in Hong Kong. Hao Dong made it clear that not a single gram of Meng Ka's drugs would pass through him, adding that his visit was merely a courtesy call to avoid future complaints about his lack of "rules."

Lao Zhuo realized that regardless of his stance, he would not be receiving Meng Ka's goods. Liu Kaihua met with Guishou to gather information about tonight's activities. Under coercion from Jiang Lei, Guishou falsely claimed that Wu Zhenfeng had asked him to recruit people for an operation at the Guangmangshan Tea Factory at midnight. Guishou also stated he needed to pick up Wu Zhenfeng at 11 PM near the Nanding Village entrance along the borderline.

After this, Liu Kaihua reported to Lin Dezan, confirming that fifty kilograms of drugs, packaged as tea cakes (each weighing about fifty grams), were set to cross the border and be transported from Yang Xingquan’s Guangmangshan Tea Factory. Liu Kaihua requested that Yang Yi and Chen Yu be excused from the operation, but Lin Dezan insisted on including them, viewing it as a crucial test of their trustworthiness.

Wan Heda arrived at Yang Xingquan's tea factory with an unusually large truck to transport the tea. Yang Xingquan expressed concern about the vehicle's size, fearing his valuable old tea, which he compared to delicate porcelain antiques, might be damaged during transit. Wan Heda, however, confidently assured him that the goods would be delivered perfectly intact. Concerned about Wu Zhenfeng's activities, Chen Yu met him at Wu Gang’s grave.

Chen Yu presented Wu Zhenfeng with a precious family photo, which he had discovered while organizing his home. Wu Zhenfeng, however, insisted Chen Yu keep it, stating Chen Yu needed it more and it would be inconvenient for him to keep it. Chen Yu then probed Wu Zhenfeng about his whereabouts the previous night and his plans for the current evening, implicitly testing him.

Wu Zhenfeng, seemingly aware of the test, explained he had been to Waling Town investigating workers from his father's shop about the driver on the day of his father's accident, but found no useful information because the former owner had sold the shop. He stated he had to go out again tonight and wouldn't return until tomorrow. As Wu Zhenfeng departed, Chen Yu earnestly told him to "trust me," emphasizing that Wu Gang would be saddened if he didn’t.

Shortly after, Wu Zhenfeng contacted his police handler, Chen Liwen, confirming that at midnight, drugs disguised as tea would be transported from the Guangmangshan Tea Factory, likely using Wan Heda's truck. He added that the Yunhe police were already aware of the situation. Chen Liwen instructed him to maintain strict surveillance and refrain from taking any direct action, assuring Wu Zhenfeng that they would coordinate the broader deployment.

Lin Dezan assembled his team for a briefing, outlining the plan to intercept fifty kilograms of drugs, packaged as tea cakes, at the Guangmangshan Tea Factory. He emphasized that their mission was to capture all culprits and ensure not a single gram of drugs left Yunhe. However, during the briefing, Provincial Deputy Chief Chen Liwen arrived, announcing that the operation was now under the direct supervision of the provincial authorities.

He clarified that the main capture phase would occur in Hong Kong, with Yunhe police’s role limited to meticulous monitoring and evidence collection. Lin Dezan, though displeased, relayed the new orders, instructing his officers to maintain strict surveillance and refrain from any arrests without his direct command. Chen Yu requested to keep his mobile phone, concerned about potential messages from Wu Zhenfeng, but Lin Dezan denied the request, enforcing the standard protocol for all officers.

Despite this, Chen Yu pleaded with Lin Dezan to answer his phone if it rang. Liu Kaihua, Jiang Lei’s uncle, gave Jiang Lei a watch equipped with a miniature camera, instructing him to record details about the drugs, weapons, and individuals present at the scene. He warned Jiang Lei to stay discreet and emphasized that his safety was the top priority, advising him not to film if it became too dangerous and to run or hide if discovered.

Jiang Lei was visibly terrified, expressing fears for his life if the device were found, and initially hesitated to take the watch. However, Liu Kaihua insisted, promising to track his location via the watch and ensure his safety, even suggesting he leave Yunhe after the operation. Shortly after this exchange, Hao Dong called Jiang Lei, asking if he had completed his task.

Jiang Lei confirmed it was handled, stating that Wu Zhenfeng would not escape tonight and Meng Ka's drugs would be intercepted. Although Hao Dong detected a tremor in Jiang Lei’s voice and inquired about it, Jiang Lei adamantly denied that anything was wrong. After his call with Hao Dong, Jiang Lei called Gouzi, instructing him to personally pick up and verify the goods, even stating that Gouzi would be the "boss" for the night.

Lao Zhuo and Hao Dong had dinner together, awaiting the arrival of Qiong Jie. During their wait, Hao Dong warned Lao Zhuo to be careful about what he said, implying that failure to do so would result in him not receiving the "Xiaoma" and "Dahuang Jiaonang." When Qiong Jie finally arrived, she greeted Hao Dong, remarking on how rare it was to see him. They all raised their glasses, toasting to a new partnership and setting aside any past enmities. As night fell, Chen Yu and Yang Yi positioned themselves to observe the mountain slope through binoculars. They soon spotted a figure descending, which they identified as Wu Zhenfeng.
