Age of Legends Episode 36 Recap
> Age of Legends Recap
Tiger reported to Nie Wanfeng that Lisa had a secret meeting tonight. Nie Wanfeng suspected this was connected to a drug deal and expressed curiosity about the identity of the person Lisa met, ordering Tiger to investigate swiftly. Meanwhile, Mei Jie attempted to reach Xiao Fei by phone for an errand but failed. She then asked Hu Rong to check on him. Hu Rong found Xiao Fei in the bathroom, using a cold shower in an attempt to self-detoxify.
Hu Rong encouraged him, stating her trust in his ability to overcome his addiction. She later reported to Mei Jie that Xiao Fei was suffering from a fever and needed rest, offering to handle the errand herself. Mei Jie agreed, and the two drove to a dilapidated factory. Mei Jie provided Hu Rong with a briefcase, keys, and a flashlight, instructing her to enter alone while Mei Jie remained in the car, guiding her remotely via a Bluetooth earpiece.
Hu Rong navigated the dark, abandoned premises as Mei Jie directed her step-by-step. Eventually, Hu Rong uncovered a colorful tarp and found three boxes underneath, filled with US dollars. Mei Jie confirmed it was ten million USD and sternly warned Hu Rong against harboring any ill intentions, threatening her and her family if even a single bill went missing. Hu Rong assured Mei Jie of her loyalty.
Hu Rong then packed the money into a trolley case and returned to the car. Mei Jie praised Hu Rong for her competence and encouraged her to work closely with Lisa in the future, promising she would be well-rewarded. That same night, Liu Ziguang discovered a memo in Lisa's room, which he later secretly showed to Hu Rong, who identified the imprint "one thousand equals fifty."
Their clandestine meeting was interrupted by a patrolling security guard, and they were then confronted by Mei Jie. Mei Jie, observing their panicked state, laughingly questioned if they were romantically involved. She noticed a slip of paper in Hu Rong's hand and demanded to see it. Hu Rong, startled, claimed it was a love note, but Mei Jie insisted, growing stern. Under duress, as Hu Rong reluctantly produced the paper, Liu Ziguang swiftly snatched it and swallowed it whole.
Mei Jie was stunned but angrily commented on Liu Ziguang's ruthlessness. To further test their supposed relationship, Mei Jie arranged a private room for them to "enjoy their time together." Inside, Liu Ziguang and Hu Rong, after a brief embrace, whispered to each other, realizing the room was bugged with surveillance cameras—a setup by Mei Jie. Accepting their predicament, they decided to play out the charade as genuinely as possible.
While monitoring them, Mei Jie received a phone call from Lisa and subsequently informed Liu Ziguang that he needed to go out with them. Lisa then took Mei Jie and Liu Ziguang to a hotel, where she instructed Liu Ziguang to wait in the lobby while she went upstairs with Mei Jie.
Upstairs, Lisa met with Tony, her ex-boyfriend, who revealed that Sangbo had betrayed them during the previous open sea operation, attempting to eliminate other drug lords to monopolize the market. Tony stated he had information that Sangbo was hiding in Jiangbei and he intended to kill him. Tony then abruptly announced that he was moving the upcoming transaction from next Monday to the very next day. Lisa, though surprised, agreed and instructed Mei Jie to prepare for the accelerated timeline.
Mei Jie then relayed to Liu Ziguang that he would be waiting for Lisa until possibly the next morning. Liu Ziguang quickly relayed this intelligence to Hu Rong via text message, leading the task force to receive intel that Tirad (Tony) had checked into the hotel.
At the task force headquarters, based on Liu Ziguang's memo discovery, the information about Lisa's formidable ex-boyfriend, and the confirmed hotel check-in of Tirad, Director Hu requested a closer look at the imprint on the memo. He boldly conjectured that the image of a wing represented the "Angel" drug, and the numbers "one thousand equals fifty" signified ten million US dollars as the transaction funds for 50,000 grams of the drug.
Director Hu deduced that Lisa's presence in China was for a drug transaction. Information from T Country confirmed that Tirad, the T Country national, was actually Tony, a notorious drug lord. Considering these developments and the intel that Golden Glory planned to stop operations next Monday for reorganization, Director Hu emphasized the need for Hu Rong to gather as much intelligence as possible to dismantle Golden Glory, which he believed to be a major drug operation.
The next day, Lisa, in high spirits, returned to Golden Glory with Liu Ziguang. Mei Jie, waiting at the entrance, informed her that the money had been secured and other plans were progressing smoothly. Lisa instructed Mei Jie to ensure all mobile phone signals were blocked once VIPs arrived to prevent any information leaks. Lisa then playfully disclosed to Mei Jie her belief that the infamous drug lord Sangbo might be hiding in Jiangbei, intending to monopolize the Chinese market.
She suggested that Hou Sihai's death could also be linked to Sangbo, highlighting the need for extreme caution in their upcoming transaction. Meanwhile, Tiger reported to Nie Wanfeng that Tony had arrived in Jiangnan for a transaction with Lisa. This news perplexed Nie Wanfeng, as only three individuals had escaped during the open sea operation, and he himself had warned Liu Ziguang about the police.
Nie Wanfeng found it contradictory that Tony would openly come to China if he were the informant, leaving him pondering who the true traitor might be. At Golden Glory, Lisa told Liu Ziguang they were going out. She then suddenly mentioned her plan to go to Malaysia and asked if he would join her, though she quickly clarified it was just a joke when Liu Ziguang showed no reaction.
Soon after, the task force received intelligence that Tony had entered Golden Glory with a tour group. They suspected the transaction might have been moved forward but awaited precise confirmation from Hu Rong. When the tour group arrived at Golden Glory, their guide led them to the barbecue stall where Lisa was waiting.
Hu Rong discreetly approached Liu Ziguang, informing him that the man Lisa had secretly met last night, Tony, was now present, and she suspected the transaction might be occurring earlier than planned. Liu Ziguang quietly told Hu Rong that he had seen Mei Jie bring five identical boxes into the hotel lobby, followed by a bellhop carrying five more. Hu Rong decided she needed to investigate the contents of these boxes.
Amidst the crowd, Liu Ziguang slipped the bus keys to Hu Rong. She went to the bus cargo hold and discovered it was full of money in briefcases. Hu Rong then rushed to Mei Jie's room, where she found the five identical briefcases.
