Age of Legends Episode 33 Recap
> Age of Legends Recap
In the aftermath of the hostage situation, Little Fei, driving at high speed, had brandished a gun and accused Hu Rong of being a police officer. As police cars and Han Jin’s vehicle pursued them, Hu Rong urged Little Fei to stop. He eventually did, pressing the gun to her head and reconfirming her identity as a cop.
Hu Rong calmly admitted she was a police officer, stating that she had never feared death since joining the Crime Unit and that it was their duty to fight criminals. She also warned him that she carried a GPS tracker, and if she died, he would not escape justice. Little Fei, visibly agitated, hesitated to fire his weapon.
Liu Ziguang soon arrived on the scene, accompanied by Little Fei’s sister, who tearfully begged him to drop the gun, reminding him that Hu Rong was her savior. Little Fei, however, felt cornered and threatened to die with Hu Rong, urging his sister to leave. As more police surrounded them, Liu Ziguang created a diversion, shouting to draw Little Fei’s attention.
While Little Fei was distracted, Han Jin ambushed him from behind, pointing a gun at him, which allowed Hu Rong to swiftly disarm Little Fei. Han Jin immediately called Deputy Director Song to report Hu Rong’s safe rescue, and Song relayed the news to Director-General Hu Yuejin, who expressed immense relief. Hu Rong received a call from Mei Jie, to whom she reported the mission was successful and that she and Little Fei would return soon.
After the call, Han Jin informed Hu Rong and Liu Ziguang that their cover had been compromised and, for safety reasons, their undercover mission at Golden Glory must end. He instructed them to return to Jiangbei immediately with Little Fei. Hu Rong objected, arguing that withdrawing now would raise Mei Jie’s suspicions and nullify all their efforts. Liu Ziguang supported her, believing Little Fei was not inherently evil and deserved a chance at redemption.
Unable to resolve the dispute, Han Jin sought guidance from his superiors. Deputy Director Song initially rejected the idea of continuing the mission due to the high risks. However, Hu Rong directly called her father, Director-General Hu Yuejin, assuring him of her confidence in securing Little Fei’s cooperation and pleading to continue. Hu Yuejin, after a moment’s consideration, granted his permission, emphasizing her safety and promising that he and her mother would await her safe return.
He later explained to Deputy Director Song that allowing Hu Rong to fulfill her duty, much like her biological father Zhenwu would have, was the greatest love he and Zhenwu could show her. Hu Rong then presented Little Fei with two choices: cooperate with the police to atone for his past and turn his life around, or face legal consequences and spend his life in prison.
She appealed to his conscience and his bond with his sister, telling him it was not too late to change. Encouraged by his sister, Little Fei agreed to help, on the condition that the police protect his sister. Hu Rong assured him of his sister’s safety. Liu Ziguang then questioned Hu Rong about what she would do if he had died when he rushed in to protect her.
She asked if he would cry if she died, to which he affirmed, "Of course, I would." Hu Rong then teased him about calling her his girlfriend for the first time, which he confirmed. He asked for a kiss as a reward, and Hu Rong shyly kissed his cheek before running off, leaving Liu Ziguang with a broad, triumphant smile.
Shortly thereafter, Mei Jie received a phone call from "Lisa," who announced her arrival in Jiangnan from Canada within two days and instructed Mei Jie to prepare. Lisa also informed her that, from now on, she preferred to be called "Tina." Back at Golden Glory, Hu Rong and Little Fei reported to Mei Jie. Noticing Little Fei’s sullen expression, Mei Jie kept him behind to speak privately.
Little Fei hesitantly suggested that Hu Rong should no longer be used, claiming she was too greedy and had reacted visibly to a red packet. Mei Jie, however, dismissed his concerns, caring only if Hu Rong had acted suspiciously during a money collection, which Little Fei denied. After Mei Jie's call with Lisa/Tina, Liu Ziguang and Hu Rong met, where Hu Rong expressed concern that Little Fei might betray them.
They later found Little Fei in his room struggling with drug withdrawal. Liu Ziguang quickly confiscated the drugs, and Hu Rong pushed him into the bathroom, using cold water to help him regain composure. Later, Little Fei discreetly pulled Hu Rong aside, asking if cooperating with the police would truly lead to redemption. Hu Rong confirmed it, and Little Fei, trusting her, retrieved a hidden phone from his toilet tank.
He handed it to her, revealing it contained the contact list of everyone Mei Jie was associated with, stating it held everything he knew. Hu Rong promised to forward the information to her colleagues and reiterated that Little Fei’s sister was safe and under Captain Han’s protection in Jiangbei. Later, Hu Rong received a text from Han Jin, requesting a meeting. They met at Cao’s house, where Han Jin disclosed vital intelligence.
He confirmed the significance of Little Fei’s contact list and promised an immediate investigation. More importantly, he revealed that Interpol suspected Lisa, the true controller of the Tiger Company and Mei Jie’s supplier, had fled T Country and was likely headed to Golden Glory. Since they lacked a full photograph of Lisa and only possessed a single fingerprint, Han Jin tasked Hu Rong with diligently monitoring any suspicious new arrivals at Golden Glory.
He emphasized that Lisa was a key figure in the criminal organization, closely linked to Sangbo, and her capture was crucial to uncovering Sangbo and potentially solving Hou Sihai's murder. Hu Rong understood that finding Lisa was now her paramount objective. Soon after, a female VIP, Tina (Lisa), arrived at Golden Glory. Mei Jie personally greeted her and escorted her to the penthouse suite, a rare event noticed by both Liu Ziguang and Hu Rong.
Inside the suite, Tina presented Mei Jie with a million yuan for a successful transaction. She explained her choice of Golden Glory for such a large deal was due to it being their territory and her profound trust in Mei Jie. Mei Jie expressed her gratitude and reaffirmed her loyalty. Tina stressed the immense scale of the deal and the absolute necessity of its success, to which Mei Jie assured her that all arrangements were meticulously handled.
Hu Rong later approached Little Fei, asking about the mysterious woman. Little Fei admitted he knew little but observed that Mei Jie rarely used the penthouse suite for guests, which suggested the woman held considerable importance. Meanwhile, Brother Hu reported Lisa's presence at Golden Glory to Nie Wanfeng. Nie Wanfeng speculated that Lisa, facing significant danger, must be on a critical mission given her risky journey to China to meet Mei Jie, despite Nie Wanfeng himself not knowing her.
Noticing Tina/Lisa leaving her room, Liu Ziguang quickly sent a message to Hu Rong. Posing as room service, Hu Rong entered Tina’s room and managed to obtain her lipstick. Back in her own room, she carefully extracted fingerprints from the lipstick tube. As Hu Rong prepared to re-enter Tina’s room, Tina unexpectedly emerged and sternly warned Hu Rong not to enter her room again without permission. Suspicious, Tina reviewed the room’s surveillance footage, confirming Hu Rong’s unauthorized entry.
She immediately called Mei Jie, who then confronted Hu Rong in Tina's room. Hu Rong nervously produced the lipstick, prompting Mei Jie, exasperated, to order her to apologize to Tina. Hu Rong returned the lipstick and apologized, but Tina remained unconvinced, coldly questioning Hu Rong’s true motives. Hu Rong concocted a story about her father being a gambler and her own greed being the reason for her actions. Unpersuaded, Tina demanded Hu Rong cut off a finger.
Mei Jie quickly interceded on Hu Rong’s behalf. Tina relented but insisted on meeting Hu Rong’s father, Cao. Suddenly, Little Fei arrived to summon Cao to Golden Glory, claiming Mei Jie sent him but without knowing the reason. Cao, sensing the gravity of the situation, feigned returning to his room for clothes and secretly contacted Han Jin, gravely informing him of the developing crisis. Cao then presented himself humbly before Mei Jie.
Mei Jie offered to settle his gambling debts, an offer Cao politely feigned to decline. Mei Jie, however, insisted. To verify their story, she had both Cao and Hu Rong write down the names of their creditors. Seeing identical lists, Tina then instructed Mei Jie to call one of the creditors on the spot. Mei Jie dialed the number, and Han Jin answered, expertly impersonating a gruff loan shark demanding payment from Cao.
This convincing performance finally assuaged Mei Jie and Tina's suspicions. With Mei Jie displeased with Hu Rong over the lipstick incident, Hu Rong found it difficult to move around freely. Consequently, Liu Ziguang took the fingerprints Hu Rong had collected from Tina/Lisa and delivered them to Han Jin, who expressed his sincere gratitude. The fingerprint analysis soon confirmed that the VIP was indeed Lisa.
