Young Blood Episode 30 Recap
> Young Blood Recap
Wang Kuan visited Liu Sheng in prison, using a special token that granted him sole access to the cell. There, he discovered Liu Sheng dead, his sternum completely shattered. The news quickly reached Lu Guannian, who was informed that Wang Kuan from Secret Repository was the murderer. Lu Guannian immediately ordered Section 7 to apprehend Wang Kuan.
Zhao Jian, refusing to believe the accusation, wanted to search for Wang Kuan, but Lu Guannian forbade her, insisting she remain at the Secret Repository to continue the investigation into Han Duanzhang. He stated that Wang Kuan was a member of Section 7, and others could handle his capture. At the hostel, Wei Yanei, Xue Ying, and Xiaojing were deeply troubled by the accusations against Wang Kuan. Imperial guards then reported that Princess Yun Ni had also vanished.
With Yuan Zhongxin already accused of killing imperial guards, Wang Kuan suspected of Liu Sheng's murder, and the princess missing, Wei Yanei decided they must prioritize finding Wang Kuan and Yuan Zhongxin first, temporarily setting aside the princess's disappearance. He was confident that the princess's disappearance was a separate matter. Wang Kuan met with Yuan Zhongxin and delivered the shocking news of Liu Sheng's death.
He explained that Yun Ni believed he killed Xiaohua, and now the Ministry of Punishments considered him Liu Sheng's murderer, leaving him accused on two fronts. Yuan Zhongxin acknowledged the urgency of finding the true killer to clear Wang Kuan's name, as mere words would not suffice. Wang Kuan took it upon himself to investigate, instructing Yuan Zhongxin to look after Yun Ni in the meantime.
Soon after, Yun Ni regained consciousness and, still distraught, vehemently accused Wang Kuan of Xiaohua's murder. Yuan Zhongxin tried to reassure her, urging her to believe that Wang Kuan was not a cruel man and promising to find the killer. However, Yun Ni, overwhelmed by grief and suspicion, declared she wouldn't trust anyone, even suggesting Yuan Zhongxin was Wang Kuan’s accomplice.
Meanwhile, students from Section 5, upon learning of Liu Sheng's death and Wang Kuan's alleged involvement, stormed out of the Secret Repository. They delivered an ultimatum to Section 7, demanding Wang Kuan be handed over to them for justice. The students of Section 5 were known to be formidable, and if Wang Kuan fell into their hands, his fate would be sealed.
Across the city, Lu Guannian and the imperial guards intensified their search for Wang Kuan, deploying forces to all major establishments and city gates, but to no avail. That night, Yun Ni attempted to slip away, but Yuan Zhongxin intercepted her. He implored her to disclose everything she knew, hoping that by piecing together their information, they could identify Xiaohua's real killer. Yun Ni remained defiant, accusing Yuan Zhongxin and Wang Kuan of being accomplices.
Yuan Zhongxin pressed her, asking why he would kill Xiaohua when he chose to see Yun Ni and try to help her. He then asked Yun Ni her true reason for secretly returning to Liao. After some persuasion, Yun Ni revealed her purpose: she did not want to enter into a peace-making marriage. Yuan Zhongxin deduced that she was aware of the impending marriage even before an official edict arrived at the hostel, implying someone had informed her.
He further reasoned that this same individual had likely instigated her to falsely accuse Liu Sheng of murder to divert Secret Repository’s investigation. Given Yun Ni and Xiaohua knew Tian Hu was dead without entering the room, Yuan Zhongxin concluded that the person behind everything, and the killer of Tian Hu, Huo Yuguang, and Liu Sheng, was Han Duanzhang. Yun Ni was astonished by Yuan Zhongxin's deductions. She then confessed that her brother, Prince Yun'an, was not dead.
She had received a letter from him via carrier pigeon, instructing her to cooperate with Han Duanzhang for the peace-making marriage with Song. At that moment, Xiaojing arrived, looking for Wang Kuan and surprised to find Yun Ni there. Xiaojing presented a note from Section 5. Recognizing the danger, Yuan Zhongxin quickly instructed Xiaojing to take Yun Ni and escape through the back window, telling her to decide their destination and not make any sound.
Shortly after Xiaojing and Yun Ni left, Di Jiang from Section 5 appeared. Di Jiang, who shared a deep bond with Liu Sheng, viewed him as a brother, mentor, and the person who led him out of darkness. Furious, he confronted Yuan Zhongxin, demanding Wang Kuan.
Yuan Zhongxin, realizing the note from Section 5 was a ruse to track them, stated that the letter was superfluous if they truly wanted to kill Wang Kuan, implying it was a trick to get Section 7 members to lead them to Wang Kuan. He pointed out Di Jiang had followed the wrong person. Outmatched in combat, Yuan Zhongxin used a clever tactic to escape Di Jiang's grasp.
Meanwhile, Zhao Jian had followed Lu Guannian and discovered him in a secret meeting with Han Duanzhang. Hidden from view, she overheard Han Duanzhang admit to killing Huo Yuguang because he knew too much, Tian Hu for guarding the room, and Liu Sheng to distract Section 7 and prevent them from interfering with their "great cause."
Lu Guannian, incensed that Han Duanzhang had killed his student Liu Sheng, lunged at him, but Han Duanzhang warned that killing him would jeopardize their greater plan. Lu Guannian suppressed his anger, vowing to kill Han Duanzhang once their grand design was complete, and warned him to stay away from his students. After the exchange, Zhao Jian was discovered and restrained by Lu Guannian's men.
Han Duanzhang suggested killing her to prevent her from exposing their secret, but Lu Guannian refused to kill his own student, instead confining her to a secret room. Zhao Jian, chained to a wall, demanded to know about this "great event." Lu Guannian explained his ambition to sow internal strife in Liao, leading to its eventual decline and fall, promising to release her once this objective was achieved.
He reasoned that some people were too short-sighted to get their hands dirty for the sake of the Song Dynasty's benefit, so he had to act covertly. Zhao Jian questioned how many lives, including those of Tian Hu and Liu Sheng, would be sacrificed for his so-called greater good. Xiaojing and Yun Ni, now on the run, didn't know where to go.
Wang Kuan suddenly appeared, knocking out the still-furious Yun Ni when she tried to attack him again, explaining that he only rendered her unconscious. He led them to a dilapidated, reportedly haunted house for shelter. Wang Kuan expressed concern for Yuan Zhongxin, having deduced that the person he had encountered was Di Jiang, a formidable member of Section 5. The next morning, as Yun Ni awoke, Wang Kuan reiterated that he did not kill Xiaohua.
He explained he had been hiding near the previous house, observing, after Yun Ni's initial accusation, hoping to find the real killer. He and Yuan Zhongxin suspected the killer knew where they were staying. Elsewhere, Yuan Zhongxin went to the designated meeting spot with Zhao Jian but found no secret code, signaling that something had gone wrong with her.
Wang Kuan, back at the haunted house, sent Xiaojing to check for their agreed-upon code with Yuan Zhongxin, but she found nothing. Wang Kuan surmised that Yuan Zhongxin, caught between Di Jiang and the real killer, had used the opportunity to escape and disappear in Kaifeng, trusting Wang Kuan to take care of Yun Ni, and hoping the killer's next move to find Yun Ni would reveal their identity. Wang Kuan was still deeply worried about Yuan Zhongxin's safety.
