Following their dinner at Shi Shuangjiao's home, Lu Xian pulls Gu Renqi aside for a private conversation. He formally introduces himself as Daniel Lu, Gu Renqi's psychiatrist, revealing that Gu Renqi's symptoms are worsening. Lu Xian advises him against close physical contact with Shi Shuangjiao to prevent more severe stress reactions. Feeling deceived, Gu Renqi expresses his distrust and decides to terminate their treatment sessions. Lu Xian warns that without trust, his condition will spiral.
He then probes Gu Renqi about his unique immunity to Shi Shuangjiao, questioning whether he is drawn to her simply because she doesn't trigger his mysophobia, or if he genuinely likes her as a person. Lu Xian emphasizes that failing to clarify this would be a form of exploitation and would ultimately hurt her. Gu Renqi convenes a high-level company meeting to address financial issues, including a lost order.
He requests ten more days to secure new business before a vote is held on the manual cleaning department's future. Simultaneously, a manipulated video from weeks prior, showing Gu Renqi appearing disgusted by Shi Shuangjiao in her sanitation worker uniform, goes viral. The video sparks public outrage, with netizens accusing him of capitalist bullying. A concerned Shi Shuangjiao rushes to Gu Renqi before his meeting and grabs his arm.
Li Dongxian instinctively moves to spray disinfectant, but Gu Renqi stops him and calmly reassures Shuangjiao that the company will handle it. Meanwhile, Jiang Wenchi, the orchestrator of the smear campaign, meets with Wang Qianqian under the guise of business. He shows her a photo of Gu Renqi and Shi Shuangjiao, implying Gu Renqi is not worthy of her, but she dismisses his attempts to meddle in her personal life.
Later, Wang Qianqian starts a live stream to defend Gu Renqi, but she is met with hostility from online trolls. One user threatens her, claiming to know where she lives. Alarmed, Li Dongxian, who was watching the stream, rushes to protect her. He finds her being pursued by the stalker and is stabbed in the arm while defending her. Afterward, a grateful Wang Qianqian tends to Li Dongxian’s wound.
He boasts about his first-aid skills, learned as a captain of a wilderness survival club in college. Charmed, Wang Qianqian playfully asks him to pick her up the next morning, an offer he enthusiastically accepts. He notes how cute she looks when she's flustered and encourages her to relax more, then spontaneously kisses her on the forehead. He advises her to be patient and let the man be the one to confess his feelings. The next day, Shi Shuangjiao is disappointed to find Gu Renqi absent from work. Uncle Jin then assigns her the "difficult task" of cleaning Gu Renqi's house, as his cleaning robot is broken and he specifically requested her. While cleaning, she finds a childhood photo of Gu Renqi and remarks aloud how handsome he was.
Gu Renqi, having entered unnoticed, startles her and catches her as she stumbles. He playfully asks if she was speaking ill of him, and she deflects by complimenting his clothes. As she moves to clean the kitchen, Gu Renqi rushes to shut a cabinet door, hiding the drinking cup of hers that he had secretly kept. Meanwhile, Zhu Yan visits the coffee shop and is surprised to see Shi Junjie working there. He persuades her to stay by offering to make her a free latte, hoping to create more opportunities to see her.
