Gu Shiheng, Gu Renqi's powerful grandfather, is publicly confronted by Liu Li, the son of his former driver, Liu Xiaowei. With his father serving a prison sentence for a hit-and-run, Liu Li accuses Gu Shiheng of using him as a scapegoat, declaring that money will not solve the issue and that the guilty party must pay for their mistakes. Meanwhile, Lu Xian's investigation uncovers that the death of Shuangjiao's mother may be connected to the Gu family.
This discovery deeply troubles Lu Xian, who resolves to protect Shuangjiao from the painful truth. Learning of Liu Li's protest, Lu Xian poses as Gu Shiheng's representative to meet with him. During their meeting, Liu Li claims Gu Shiheng was the one who was actually driving and killed someone, forcing his father to take the blame. He gives Lu Xian a three-day ultimatum: if Gu Shiheng does not meet his financial demands, there will be serious repercussions.
Shi Junjie, wanting to earn money without relying on his sister, sells a coffee maker he invented to Lu Xian. Later, his plans to celebrate Zhu Yan's birthday are ruined when her demanding director forces her to work overtime. Frustrated, Junjie pretends to send an angry message to the director, causing Zhu Yan to snatch her phone back. She scolds him for his immaturity, fearing his actions could jeopardize her career. Hurt by her words, Junjie leaves.
Afterward, Zhu Yan discovers he never sent the message. She then finds a heartfelt birthday video he recorded for her, expressing his love and promising to be better. Moved to tears, she tries to call him, but his phone is switched off. At a clothing store, Wang Qianqian has Li Dongxian try on outfits she is buying for a gift, noting his similar physique to the recipient. When a sales assistant mistakes them for a couple, Li Dongxian quickly clarifies.
Later at the office, wearing one of the new outfits, a delighted Li Dongxian attempts to announce his and Wang Qianqian's "good news," but Gu Renqi interrupts to declare his intention to propose to Shuangjiao, adding that all his future earnings will be managed by her. He asks Li Dongxian, Shi Junjie, and Zhu Yan for help planning a romantic proposal.
A protective Junjie immediately challenges Gu Renqi, questioning if he has the family's permission and who will handle domestic responsibilities after marriage. The group brainstorms elaborate ideas, while Gu Renqi scouts a beautiful hotel for the event. Shortly after he leaves, Jiang Wenchi arrives, posing as Gu Renqi's assistant to take over the arrangements. Lu Xian, knowing about Liu Li's three-day deadline, grows concerned when he sees Junjie hiding proposal plans from a blissfully happy Shuangjiao.
She confides in him that as long as she and Gu Renqi are happy, nothing else matters. Unwilling to destroy her happiness, Lu Xian decides to keep the truth about her mother's death a secret. However, he suddenly realizes the proposal date coincides with Liu Li's ultimatum. Fearing for their safety, he rushes to the hotel. At the venue, Zhu Yan has tricked Shuangjiao into attending under the guise of a high-end banquet, insisting she wear a beautiful new dress.
As Shuangjiao is led into the meticulously decorated space, a child presents her with flowers, and she sees Wang Qianqian and Junjie among the guests. As fireworks light up the sky and a spotlight lands on Gu Renqi, Shuangjiao begins to suspect it is a proposal.
