Outside Tongzhou city, Xue Dingfei insisted on entering, but Feng Mingyu wanted to split up Jiang Xuening and Zhang Zhe. Though unwilling, Jiang Xuening had no choice. She and Xiaobao entered the city with San Niang Zi and others. Along the way, they inquired about Zhang Zhe, and Jiang Xuening claimed they were in love but their families disapproved, so this mission was also an elopement.

Xue Dingfei and Zhang Zhe entered with Feng Mingyu, whose words hinted at ambitions to seize Tongzhou. Feng Mingyu tested Zhang Zhe continuously. When Zhang Zhe asked Jiang Xuening what had happened, she said they eloped. Zhang Zhe was startled, covered her mouth, and said she was mistaken. Zhang Zhe wasn’t worried about his own reputation, but Jiang Xuening’s. Jiang Xuening suddenly had a stomachache. San Niang Zi said she was poisoned. Xiaobao suggested taking her to Doctor Xie.

Although worried, Zhang Zhe understood Xiaobao’s real intention. With a heavy heart, he watched them board the carriage. On the way, Xiaobao killed the driver and gave Jiang Xuening the antidote. This was the only plan he had to save her. He also told her that Zhang Zhe was part of Xie Wei’s plan and not to worry. Jiang Xuening was saved. News came from Xue Dingfei that Feng Mingyu had taken them to Shangqing Temple before dawn.

Daoqin reminded Xie Wei to use the opportunity to eliminate Zhang Zhe. Jiang Xuening also feared Xie Wei might harm Zhang Zhe due to suspected ties with the rebels, so she hurried to the pharmacy Xiaobao mentioned and confirmed Xie Wei never intended to let Zhang Zhe leave Tongzhou alive. Zhang Zhe followed Feng Mingyu to Shangqing Temple, which was the rebel explosives base. Feng Mingyu still doubted Zhang Zhe’s identity despite Duke Xue’s arrival.

With clever arguments, Zhang Zhe turned the suspicion on Feng Mingyu. Even San Niang Zi and Huang Qian attacked Feng Mingyu. Seeing this, Xue Dingfei dragged Zhang Zhe away. Jiang Xuening rushed to the Yan camp. When Xie Wei received the news, he became more anxious and took more medicine. Meanwhile, the Xingwu Guard was also approaching the mountain. Zhang Zhe insisted on returning to warn Duke Xue.

But Duke Xue, eager for credit, ignored him and fell into a trap. Zhang Zhe's identity was exposed. Despite Zhang Zhe’s pleas, Duke Xue fired a signal flare. Xue Dingfei was found by Yan troops and quickly pointed Jiang Xuening to Zhang Zhe’s location. Feng Mingyu blew up the road down the mountain. Realizing the trap, Duke Xue and Duke Xue's son had no choice but to fight their way out.

Xie Wei realized the chaos on the mountain but rushed up for Jiang Xuening’s sake. Feng Mingyu had gone mad, trying to blow everyone up. Huang Qian and San Niang Zi turned against him to save themselves. Zhang Zhe begged Duke Xue to assist the Yan troops, but Duke Xue fled with the Xingwu Guard. Just as Zhang Zhe and Jiang Xuening were left helpless, Xie Wei arrived with reinforcements. He raised his sword — Jiang Xuening thought he would kill Zhang Zhe and stood in front of him, but Xie Wei killed Feng Mingyu instead and ordered all rebels executed.
