The special forces underwent camouflage reconnaissance training, which required three-person squads to camouflage and proceed 300 meters to a firing line within 30 minutes. Once there, they had to read six numbers from an observer's sign and hit two targets with dry fire, all while avoiding six searchers. During the planning phase, Bai Long suggested splitting up and rendezvousing in an area with lush greenery and a slope for good concealment and retreat.

However, Yan Poyue objected, pointing out that while Bai Long's suggested location was excellent for concealment and retreat, their main objective was to read the numbers from the instructor's sign. He argued that the best location for reading the numbers, which he preferred, had less foliage and more observers, making them easily exposed, especially since they needed to dry fire twice.

He insisted they follow his plan, assigning the dry firing to Captain Cao Ben and the Vice-captain, while he would read the numbers. As the team advanced, Captain Cao Ben reminded his squad to spread out and hide, preparing for dry firing. He instructed them that if any emergency occurred, they should continue the mission while he would draw fire away from them. Searchers were actively moving, and the team successfully read five of the six numbers.

However, Yan Poyue couldn't clearly see the last digit, prompting Bai Long to move to a different position despite Yan Poyue's order to stay put. Bai Long then confirmed the final number, declaring the mission a success. Yet, Qin Feng immediately announced their mission failed because the person providing cover, Cao Ben, had entered a pre-set booby trap zone, resulting in simulated casualties. Yan Poyue protested, claiming the booby traps were too easy.

Cao Ben then revealed he had disarmed all the traps, confirming no actual casualties. Qin Feng acknowledged this, stating their squad had passed. Yan Poyue jokingly complimented Cao Ben on his quick disarming, to which Cao Ben replied he had practiced, further commenting that booby traps were his forte. Later, Bai Long confronted Cao Ben, who was deep in thought. Cao Ben repeatedly apologized, but Bai Long dismissed it as useless, asking if an apology could undo past mistakes.

Cao Ben's emotions erupted, revealing his childhood trauma of being shocked by lightning, which made him terrified of it in the army. He recounted freezing when he stepped on a landmine, feeling useless while Xiang Fei sacrificed himself to save him. Cao Ben expressed deep regret, believing Fei would still be alive if he hadn't been so afraid. He shared that he constantly studies landmines and apologizes to everyone, feeling it's the only way he can contribute.

Bai Long listened, tears streaming down his face, offering no further words. The team then moved on to their ultimate assessment: a hostage rescue mission. The goal was to successfully rescue the hostage and extract them within 30 minutes, with mission failure declared if the hostage or any squad member died. As the Cheetah Commando began operations in an abandoned cement factory, a sniper suddenly appeared, firing from a high tower.

Bai Long's Group B was tasked with eliminating the sniper and providing cover, while Yan Poyue’s Group A continued towards the warehouse. However, Group A soon came under heavy ambush and requested backup from Group B, forcing Bai Long to move to a vantage point for support. During the engagement, a disguised terrorist posing as experimental personnel was quickly neutralized. Despite their efforts, enemy firepower remained too intense for Bai Long’s team to advance.

They decided to deploy a drone to scout the terrain. From the observation room, Leng Jing criticized Qin Feng's strategy, calling it a "despicable trick" to surround them. Qin Feng, however, explained that he wanted to test them, as they were overly confident in their teamwork and trust. He aimed to show them that even a small mistake could lead to the demise of the entire squad.

Bai Long, reviewing the drone footage, realized the informant's intel was incorrect, leading them into the wrong building. Yan Poyue, observing this, openly cursed Qin Feng as a "sly old fox," much to Qin Feng's near annoyance. The two groups were ordered to regroup at point C, with Yue Kong and Guo Xiao Xiao assigned to eliminate the sniper. Yan Poyue, recognizing the disadvantage of street fighting, stressed the urgency of entering the warehouse to rescue the hostage.

Despite Captain Cao Ben's hesitation, citing the unreliable intel, Bai Long insisted on rushing into the warehouse with Yan Poyue, fearing further delay would endanger the hostage. Qin Feng, still observing, agreed with Leng Jing that their tactical coordination was good, but argued that excellent teamwork was useless if the overall strategy was flawed. Lv Tu remarked on their inexperience compared to Qin Feng, whom he called an "old fox."

Yan Poyue and Bai Long successfully located what they believed to be the hostage—a tied-up woman. Yan Poyue, after a quick glance, untied her without verifying her identity. Just then, Cao Ben arrived, asking if the identity had been confirmed. Yan Poyue realized his mistake, but it was too late; the woman was a disguised enemy, leading to mission failure. Qin Feng declared the simulated rescue training a failure, berating the Cheetah Commando for their "suicidal action."

Yue Kong, witnessing the failure, struggled to control his emotions. Cao Ben attempted to defend his team, pointing out that the assessment's premise was flawed as all the intel they received was fake, a rarity in real combat. Qin Feng angrily retorted that providing false intel was part of the assessment, and their rash actions stemmed from a lack of careful analysis.

He then listed three serious errors: first, being too gullible and failing to verify intel, especially when enemies might use fake information as a lure; second, underestimating the enemy, reminding them that their adversaries were armed, well-equipped, and ruthless; and third, being frivolous, directly scolding Yan Poyue for not verifying the hostage's identity and for his lingering gaze at the "pitiful," "sexily dressed" woman.

He emphasized that enemies would use any means to deceive them, even disguising themselves as civilians or family members, and that they must never be careless or make mistakes. Bai Long immediately requested a re-assessment. Qin Feng was enraged, asking if they would ask the King of Hell for a re-assessment after dying on a real battlefield. He scorned experienced veterans like them for being more prone to underestimating enemies.

Cao Ben took full responsibility, admitting his strategic deployment as captain was at fault. He pleaded for a re-assessment, framing it as a chance for the newcomers, and vowed to voluntarily retire from the military and never rejoin the Cheetah Commando if they failed again. Although angered by Cao Ben's words, Qin Feng ultimately agreed to a re-assessment, warning them that it would be even more difficult.

Leng Jing then granted them access to the command center, providing all video footage from the day's assessment and a floor plan of the training ground, urging them to learn their lessons before the next day's re-assessment. Yan Poyue stood contemplatively before a computer. The following day, for the re-assessment, everyone was noticeably more cautious. Qin Feng employed another deceptive tactic, a feint.

Yue Kong expertly took out a rooftop sniper, while Yan Poyue executed a "cool" move that impressed Xiao Yun Jie. Cao Ben, however, jokingly accused Yan Poyue of "courting death," and Lv Tu, watching from the observation room, also criticized Yan Poyue for falling back into old habits. Qin Feng expressed his worry, stating that if this mission failed, their entire ten days of intense training would have been in vain.

Upon finding the hostage, Yan Poyue was meticulous in confirming her identity before signaling Xiao Yun Jie to defuse the bomb. As enemy fire intensified and the hostage, strapped to a mechanism, faced imminent danger, Xiao Yun Jie managed to disarm the bomb at the last possible second. Qin Feng, seeing their improved performance, decided to increase the mission's difficulty.

Just as the team was preparing to evacuate the hostage, the mission was suddenly upgraded: they now had eight minutes to locate the hidden drug lord leader within the cement factory, or the mission would be deemed a failure, as the entire factory was rigged to explode. Qin Feng had kept this hidden task a secret, not even informing Leng Jing or Lv Tu, fearing Leng Jing might protect the team and leak the details.

The team was momentarily at a loss, but Yan Poyue quickly realized the target's location and urgently told Cao Ben the leader was below them. Displaying synchronized teamwork, they simultaneously destroyed all surveillance monitors, plunging the observation screens into darkness. Leng Jing and Lv Tu found this amusing, acknowledging that the team was merely applying Qin Feng's own tactics back at him.
