A joint operation between China and M nation was underway to dismantle the Red Scorpion drug cartel, which had long terrorized Southeast Asia. The cartel had previously attacked an international humanitarian aid team, causing casualties and seizing relief supplies. With an undercover agent's identity compromised and their life in danger, the Cheetah Commando was dispatched to rescue the agent and apprehend the criminal leader, Xing Tian. The commandos stealthily infiltrated the target location, with each unit confirming their objectives.

Reconnaissance had identified key enemy positions, including two on a tower with a heavy machine gun, one on each floor of the east corridor armed with automatic assault rifles, one on the rooftop also with an automatic assault rifle, at least two inside the building with unknown weapons, two enemies at the door carrying assault rifles, and one enemy on the second floor.

After receiving the action signal, "Tiger Fang One" through "Tiger Fang Five," and "Tiger Claw One" all confirmed their targets and prepared to move. They successfully eliminated the guards outside, and the path to their primary target was clear. Inside, they found "Target Two," the undercover agent, who was rescued after confirming his identity with the code: "Dispatch me in the first battle, victory will be assured."

However, as they were about to extract, their drone's signal was jammed, plunging them into an unknown situation. Soon, the enemy discovered their presence, and a fierce firefight erupted as hostiles surrounded the "Tiger Fang" platoon. Snipers were spotted, and the retreat route was obliterated by the drug traffickers' heavy fire. In a desperate move, Yan Poyue used his body to create a temporary bridge for his comrades and the wounded agent to cross.

After intense exchanges, they took cover in a small building. When a grenade was tossed inside, Yan Poyue eye-catchingly grabbed and threw it back out. Enraged, Xing Tian escalated the attack, unleashing a barrage of artillery. Despite suffering from a painful ringing in his ears after the explosion, Yan Poyue stood firm, continuing to fight until he was shot and fell into the river.

Even then, an unyielding fire burned within Yan Poyue; he was a Cheetah, and he was fearless. Years earlier, during enlistment season, new recruits arrived at the Mobile Regiment. Li Xiang, the company commander of the Tiger Special Forces Company, was assigned as the new recruit company commander, known by some as "Psycho King." He quickly demonstrated why.

Upon inspecting the bus that brought the recruits, Li Xiang was furious to find wasted food, chastising them for not deserving to wear a military uniform if they couldn't even cherish food. He commanded them to pick up and eat the food they had discarded. Only two seats in the entire bus were spotless, belonging to Yan Poyue and Xiao Yun Jie, who were junior high classmates and now comrades.

When asked why they joined the military, Xiao Yun Jie gave a patriotic answer about serving the country, but Yan Poyue's response was simple and honest: "To grow strong." The recruits were then ordered to run ten laps, a punishment that quickly left many struggling, including Lu Xiao Tian, who tried to grab onto Yan Poyue and Xiao Yun Jie for support. Squad Leader Zhang Tian Yang, misinterpreting the situation, admonished them for "helping" others.

Yan Poyue, frustrated by the disorganization of the run, bluntly stated that the current method was problematic and offered to run for everyone. Challenged by Zhang Tian Yang to do better, Yan Poyue stepped forward and, with Xiao Yun Jie's enthusiastic support, declared themselves temporary company commander and vice company commander, recruiting four platoon leaders.

He rallied the new recruits by vividly describing an imaginary feast of mutton soup, complete with chili oil, promising they could have it if they followed his commands and finished the laps. The motivation worked, and the recruits, invigorated by the thought of food, ran with surprising energy. Zhang Tian Yang, though initially annoyed, reported the unusual situation to Li Xiang, who secretly approved, recognizing Yan Poyue's leadership potential.

Li Xiang, seeing them continue to train, made a phone call to ensure water and food were sent to Yan Poyue and Xiao Yun Jie, who continued their training even after completing their ten laps. Years later, Yan Poyue would reflect that while being one step ahead makes a genius, being two steps ahead makes a lunatic.

He understood Li Xiang's actions were to humanize them in the eyes of others, proving that even "demons" could experience thirst, hunger, and exhaustion. During morning drills, Yan Poyue's turns and movements were exceptionally precise for a new recruit. Li Xiang inquired where he had learned such perfect drills, but Yan Poyue remained silent, protecting himself by refusing to answer. This refusal only added to his mysterious aura, making him the most captivating new recruit in the regiment.

In the barracks, Lu Xiao Tian regaled Yan Poyue and Xiao Yun Jie with tales of the "Dragon, Tiger, and Dog" – three legendary figures in the regiment, with Li Xiang being "The Tiger." They expressed a desire to meet the enigmatic "Dragon." However, their superior physical performance didn't translate to internal affairs; Yan Poyue and Xiao Yun Jie's poorly folded blankets severely lowered the squad's housekeeping score, earning them a punishment to practice folding blankets outside the dormitory.

The next morning, Yan Poyue and Xiao Yun Jie's blankets were miraculously transformed into perfect "tofu blocks," stunning their squadmates like Lu Xiao Tian. Their secret, however, was quickly uncovered: two iron doors from the army cookhouse had gone missing. An investigation revealed that Yan Poyue and Xiao Yun Jie had taken the doors, placed their blankets between them, and then, by tricking the vehicle company, had a truck drive over them twice to flatten them.

Li Xiang was furious, scolding them for destroying military property and deceiving their superiors. Though both Yan Poyue and Xiao Yun Jie tried to take sole responsibility, Li Xiang ordered them to carry the heavy iron doors back to the army cookhouse as a public display of their "glorious achievement." As they painstakingly hauled the doors, Xiao Yun Jie casually remarked on the beauty of a passing female officer.

Yan Poyue, focused on their punishment, dismissively told him he sounded like he'd never seen a woman before. Unbeknownst to them, Li Xiang had overheard their conversation. With a knowing smirk, he informed them that the officer was Ai Qianxue, the youngest Staff Officer in the regiment, subtly implying their comments were inappropriate. He then instructed Xiao Yun Jie to loudly repeat his previous remark to the Staff Officer.
