Li Huizhen, now unemployed, struggles to find work. Xia Qiao, feeling indebted, asks her stepmother for help, as Xia Qiao's father strongly dislikes Li Huizhen. The stepmother agrees, hoping Xia Qiao will improve her relationship with her father. Meanwhile, Han Xue feels guilty about Li Huizhen's departure and pleads with Vivian to reinstate her, even mentioning Vivian's nephew, Lin Husheng, but Bai Haoyu remains unwilling.
The editorial department's workload increases significantly in Li Huizhen's absence, making everyone realize her diligent work and value. Bai Haoyu, though not openly admitting he misses her, often looks at her notes and even smiles at her design drafts, later discovering that a notebook he found in the library belongs to her. During a meeting, he criticizes the team for their lack of new ideas.
Lin Yimu proposes a fairy tale theme focusing on supporting characters, which is well-received and approved by Bai Haoyu. Lin Yimu then reveals the idea came from Li Huizhen's notebook and urges Bai Haoyu to bring her back, as she left because of him. However, Bai Haoyu refuses, suggesting it's better if they don't see each other, despite Lin Yimu suspecting his strong reaction stems from hidden feelings for Li Huizhen.

With Li Huizhen and Lin Yimu gone, the editorial department descends into chaos, prompting Bai Haoyu to tell Zhu Ying to bring Lin Yimu back. Li Huizhen begins her new job at the dessert shop. Lin Yimu visits her, disguised but immediately recognized, and Li Huizhen prepares his order, asking him to take breakfast to everyone in the editorial department.
