Li Huizhen and Bai Haoyu begin their new roles, and everyone observes a notable softening in Bai Haoyu’s demeanor, as he even starts interacting with Li Huizhen. Despite the approaching deadline, which keeps the team striving every minute, Bai Haoyu continues to assign new tasks, leaving everyone exhausted. Meanwhile, Han Xue recounts her disastrous business trip to Vivian, expressing how her hopes were dashed by a persistent stomach upset.
Vivian finds Han Xue's predicament amusing, yet encourages her not to give up, even suggesting that Han Xue and Lin Husheng would make a good pair. Li Huizhen, trying to save money, shares instant noodles with Lin Yimu. She firmly resolves to tell Bai Haoyu the truth, having considered all the consequences. She takes Lin Yimu to a special spot from her childhood where she and Bai Haoyu once drew stick figures and made a promise to return.
Li Huizhen is the only one who has honored this vow, faithfully repainting the figures each year, and she wishes to bring Bai Haoyu there to rekindle their shared memory. Later, Li Huizhen discovers a dog's picture in Lin Yimu's wallet. He reveals it's his sister and admits he had been playfully calling Li Huizhen "dog-like."
Lin Yimu then bravely confesses his love for Li Huizhen, explaining he’d been following her out of concern she might confess her true identity to Bai Haoyu. Li Huizhen, however, dismisses his heartfelt declaration as another one of his jokes. Xia Qiao, who hasn't heard from Bai Haoyu due to his busy schedule, unexpectedly encounters him on a skybridge. On a subsequent date, Bai Haoyu reminisces about his past with Li Huizhen.
Xia Qiao asks if he would still like her if they were simply new acquaintances, then confesses her own love for him and kisses him. Unbeknownst to them, Lin Yimu witnesses this kiss and quickly diverts Li Huizhen to prevent her from seeing Bai Haoyu and Xia Qiao together, realizing Xia Qiao has impersonated Li Huizhen and developed real feelings for Bai Haoyu. Bai Haoyu takes Xia Qiao to the childhood graffiti spot.
Seeing the repainted figures, he is genuinely happy, believing "Li Huizhen" (Xia Qiao) remembered their promise. Xia Qiao, consumed by guilt, asks him to leave the past behind and focus on the present and future. Bai Haoyu agrees, promising to guard their agreement together. Li Huizhen is overjoyed, thinking Xia Qiao has found a boyfriend, and plans to celebrate, believing that Xia Qiao's happiness is paramount.
Xia Qiao, however, feels immense guilt and is unsure how to reveal the truth to Li Huizhen. Bai Haoyu later finds Lin Yimu at his house; Lin Yimu still had Bai Haoyu’s room card. Lin Yimu considers telling Bai Haoyu about Li Huizhen and Xia Qiao but decides it's best for the individuals involved to reveal the truth themselves. He advises Bai Haoyu not to rush into a relationship.
The following morning, as Bai Haoyu calls Xia Qiao, Li Huizhen suddenly bursts in, eager to meet Xia Qiao's new boyfriend, startling Xia Qiao, who quickly covers the phone and ushers Li Huizhen away.
