Lin Yimu, bored during a solo shoot, decided to meet Li Huizhen for hotpot. Meanwhile, Li Huizhen and Bai Haoyu set off for an ancient town wearing amusing, rustic clothes provided by a landlady. Bai Haoyu warned Li Huizhen not to reveal their unusual attire, and she agreed. Li Huizhen then realized her work ID, which she considered her luckiest item, was missing. Bai Haoyu retrieved it from the landlady, who had found it.
Bai Haoyu, for his part, treasured a puzzle as a cherished memory with Li Huizhen. Elsewhere, Lin Husheng and Han Xue encountered a setback when Lin Husheng took a wrong turn. Han Xue, feeling unwell due to a stomachache, stopped the car, then accidentally fell and hurt her leg outside. Lin Husheng quickly helped her back to the car.
Back at the office, Lin Yimu learned from Zhu Ying that Li Huizhen and Bai Haoyu were delayed and might spend the night in the ancient town. Troubled, Lin Yimu met Xia Qiao, who also worried about Li Huizhen and Bai Haoyu being alone. While Xia Qiao felt fate might be at play and dared not intervene, Lin Yimu decided he wouldn't believe in destiny and would go to them.
In the ancient town, Li Huizhen and Bai Haoyu had to wait two hours for a hotel room. They passed the time in the lobby by playing a childhood video game, which Li Huizhen used to play for a friend even though she preferred Tetris. During their game, Li Huizhen excitedly called Bai Haoyu "Bai Pangyu," a nickname only his young Li Huizhen used. Bai Haoyu was stunned and questioned her true identity.
Just then, hotel staff announced their room was ready, and Li Huizhen quickly left, making an excuse and leaving Bai Haoyu perplexed and conflicted. Later, Lin Yimu called Xia Qiao, urging her to actively pursue her love. Xia Qiao, mustering courage, called Bai Haoyu, but he was distant and preoccupied with Li Huizhen, cutting the call short, saying he was tired.
Li Huizhen then called Xia Qiao, detailing her eventful day and requesting 2000, as Bai Haoyu had forgotten his wallet and she had little cash. Xia Qiao worried Li Huizhen might reveal the truth to Bai Haoyu, undoing all her efforts. When Li Huizhen finally found Bai Haoyu and prepared to confess her identity, he apologized, stating he must have misunderstood and that she couldn't be his childhood friend.
Just as Li Huizhen, though disheartened, prepared to try again, Lin Yimu suddenly arrived. He had come specifically to meet Li Huizhen for hotpot. Bai Haoyu, feeling uneasy, decided to join them. At the hotpot restaurant, Lin Yimu and Li Huizhen interacted playfully, with Lin Yimu even putting a bug model in her hair to liven the mood. Bai Haoyu, growing jealous of their closeness, drank heavily. Having a low alcohol tolerance, he soon passed out. Lin Yimu and Li Huizhen then took the unconscious Bai Haoyu back to his room to rest.
