Gu Yanzhi was in Li Zhicheng's office, discussing the establishment of their new brand. He pointed out that while Linhai Plaza was a famous landmark, its surrounding infrastructure was old. In Linhai City, the most popular buildings were Linhai Plaza and Danzi Plaza, and considering the modern amenities and variety of brands, their new store should ideally be located in Danzi Plaza. As Gu Yanzhi spoke, he noticed Li Zhicheng seemed preoccupied.
Li Zhicheng then revealed that Grace had discovered their true intentions and now intended to withdraw her investment. Gu Yanzhi was not surprised, remarking that it was typical Grace. He worried about how they would fund the new brand without Grace's investment. Li Zhicheng, however, was resolute; he would not allow Grace to pull out. Gu Yanzhi further explained that securing a storefront in Danzi Plaza would be challenging due to its high requirements for brands and year-round full occupancy.
He had previously met Director Wu from their business department, who showed little interest in Aida. Li Zhicheng acknowledged the issues and decided to personally handle Grace and the Danzi Plaza location, instructing Gu Yanzhi to continue exploring the independent brand's opportunities in Linhai Plaza as a fallback. Meanwhile, Chen Zheng's father stormed into Simeiqi, where Chen Zheng was overseeing a design meeting.
He furiously threw a magazine in front of his son, scolding him for humiliating Cheng Meizi, who was revealed to be Cheng Feng's daughter. Chen Zheng was stunned by this revelation. His father angrily accused him of botching the situation and making the company look bad, especially since everyone now knew about the incident.
Chen Zheng tried to explain that he only wanted to expand their influence to win the Ankada project and counter claims that Simeiqi was a copycat company. Elsewhere, Zhu Hanchong, upon hearing about Chen Zheng's blunder, saw an opportunity. He waited for Cheng Meizi after her piano lesson, introducing himself as the Vice Chairman of Zhu Group.
He flattered her, saying her photo in the magazine had captivated him and that her "pure, pretty, innocent, and noble" qualities were exactly what they sought for their brand representative. He offered to invest heavily in the next Xinbaorui magazine, promising her photos would appear everywhere in Linhai City, which both surprised and delighted Cheng Meizi. Back at Aida, Gu Yanzhi informed Li Zhicheng that Linhai Plaza's business department specifically requested to meet Aida's chief designer.
Li Zhicheng agreed, asking Gu Yanzhi to bring Lin Qian to the meeting. Gu Yanzhi expressed concern because Lin Qian was unaware of their plans for an independent brand. Li Zhicheng advised him to tell her they intended to start their own brand in the future and were scouting for storefronts. Later, Gu Yanzhi and Lin Qian met with Director Song from Linhai Plaza.
Director Song stated they needed fashionable women's clothing and asked Lin Qian to describe her design experience. Gu Yanzhi presented Lin Qian's creative sketchbooks, explaining that her primary design drafts were with Wenda. Director Song praised Lin Qian's passion for original designs but suggested that to appeal to the general public, the quickest method was to "copy big brands."
Lin Qian vehemently disagreed, asserting she was a designer, not a copycat or a "carrier" for other brands, and believed in maintaining the original intention of design. She then excused herself, stating she was busy. Displeased, Director Song left, telling Gu Yanzhi they would discuss cooperation later. Li Zhicheng then drove to Danzi Plaza to meet President Wu, but he was denied a meeting due to lack of an appointment. As he left, Li Zhicheng noticed a car trailing him.
Relying on his instincts as a former special forces soldier, he recognized the pursuit was malicious. The tracker was Gao Lang, who was following Li Zhicheng under orders. Li Zhicheng decided to turn the tables, leading Gao Lang to a secluded factory area. He then stopped his car, confronted Gao Lang, and a fierce fight ensued. During the struggle, Gao Lang dislocated his wrist and, realizing he was outmatched, fled.
Li Zhicheng immediately called his subordinate, Monkey, asking him to investigate Gao Lang's car and thoroughly check his own vehicle for any tracking devices that might have been planted. Chen Zheng invited Cheng Meizi to a roadside barbecue, showering her with attention. Cheng Meizi, surprised by the informal setting, confessed that her father never allowed her to eat such food and had once severely scolded her and her college friends for a late-night meal, leading to her friends avoiding her.
Chen Zheng, feigning sympathy, told her she was "otherworldly" and offered to help her experience the things she missed in her youth, starting with late-night meals, promising to use his influence to keep her famous. Cheng Meizi seemed intrigued. Meanwhile, Lin Qian brought two flight attendants from Ankada to Aida for a uniform design survey.
The flight attendants expressed their gratitude, noting that no previous designer had ever shown such dedication to research, saying they were the first to ask for their opinions. They also revealed common occupational issues like severe menstrual cramps. Lin Qian then delved into their preferences for fabric and style. At Simeiqi, Chen Zheng rejected all the proposed uniform designs, deeming one "stupid" and "embarrassing" for the company.
He criticized the designs for being "old-fashioned and boring" and lacking the "poised beauty" suitable for Chinese women, demanding eye-catching designs. Later, Chen Zheng found his father, assuring him that he would meticulously oversee the design department to "get back what we lost on public image." His father nodded in satisfaction, remarking he had never seen Chen Zheng so serious. Following Gu Yanzhi's suggestion, Li Zhicheng and Gu Yanzhi met with Grace.
Li Zhicheng explained that Aida faced an "extremely high penalty fee" and potential bankruptcy if the Ankada contract for 40,000 uniforms wasn't completed within a month. He stated he couldn't put H Group or Grace at such a risk. He apologized for not informing her earlier, explaining he had been exploring various options. Grace, in a generous gesture, declared the matter "all in the past" and apologized for her previous attitude.
She candidly told him that launching an independent brand required "superb conditions in timing and resources," implicitly warning him about the challenges. Li Zhicheng then revealed that establishing an independent brand was also his late elder brother's wish, hoping to get Grace's support. Grace reiterated her concern, saying she didn't want him to "repeat his brother's mistake."
In Aida's design studio, Lin Qian inadvertently used the USB drive she had broken in Yunnan, once again transmitting her location to the drug lord. Later, Yayi expressed her concern to Lin Qian about Li Zhicheng's frequent meetings with Grace, saying they met "almost 5 days a week." Lin Qian dismissed it as normal business discussions between friends.
Yayi found their frequent meals abnormal and worried about Lin Qian and Li Zhicheng's relationship, but Lin Qian urged her to focus on work. One evening at the office, Lin Qian, still working late, tried to reach a box of coffee beans from an overhead cabinet. She lost her balance and nearly fell, but Li Zhicheng, who happened to be nearby, swiftly caught her, pulling her into his arms.
As coffee beans spilled around them, Lin Qian stared up at him, momentarily spellbound, before feeling embarrassed and pulling away. She worried about the spilled coffee beans, but he assured her he was fine and could simply drink instant coffee, then began cleaning up. At the golf course, Chen Zheng and his father played with Cheng Feng. Chen Zheng's father went to great lengths to flatter Cheng Feng, praising his golf skills and expressing his long-standing admiration for Ankada Airlines.
He then instructed an embarrassed Chen Zheng to apologize to Cheng Feng for the "misunderstanding" with his daughter. Chen Zheng offered his apologies, claiming he was unaware of her identity. Cheng Feng magnanimously dismissed it as "young people messing with each other" and said "it's alright." Chen Zheng's father then tried to broach the topic of Simeiqi's cooperation with Ankada, but Cheng Feng abruptly ended the discussion, stating that business matters should be discussed separately, and walked away.
Chen Zheng complained to his father about the "kowtowing," finding it humiliating. His father, however, sternly explained that in business, one must seize every opportunity and that giving up a deal would be "our biggest shame," especially with rivals like Ning Weikai and Li Zhicheng growing stronger. Grace, having failed to secure a meeting with President Wu at Danzi Plaza, serendipitously encountered Ning Weikai there.
He coldly asked if she was also vying for a storefront at Danzi Plaza and advised her not to waste her efforts, to which Grace simply ignored him. Later, Grace learned that President Wu was a member of the Tibetan Antelope Protection Society, which was affiliated with her charity fund, and was scheduled to receive an award at an upcoming charity gala. Grace and Li Zhicheng attended the gala.
During a conversation with President Wu, Grace thanked him for his donations to the society and praised his initiative in personally training anti-poaching squads. Li Zhicheng then took the opportunity to ask President Wu for a favor, expressing Aida's strong desire to secure a storefront in Danzi Plaza. However, President Wu regretfully stated that while he respected them, Danzi Plaza had strict requirements for new brands, and Aida "is not qualified" at this moment.
