Oh! My Emperor Season 2 Episode 19 Recap
> Oh! My Emperor Season 2 Recap
Beitang Yi and Tang Wang arrived outside the bridal chambers, eager to claim their brides. However, Xie Yanran and Chu Shengnan stood firm, refusing them entry. Beitang Yi attempted to tease Xie Yanran by recalling her feat of out-drinking three legendary drinkers of Perseids State during her travels, causing a wave of laughter from those gathered, but Xie Yanran held her ground.
Tang Wang, impatient to retrieve Xia Bing, urged them to open the door, reminding them they would miss the auspicious hour. Others suggested breaking the door, but Xie Yanran and Chu Shengnan countered that the Emperor would simply replace it. Tang Wang declared he would pay for a new door himself, determined to take Xia Bing home that day.
Bai Wuchen offered to use his powers to move the door, but Chu Shengnan quickly threatened him, stating she wouldn't mind if the father of her child became disabled, effectively deterring his assistance. With a smile, Xie Yanran finally revealed the real reason for the blockade, hinting that Luo Feifei believed nothing was unsolvable if enough money was offered, clearly demanding red envelopes.
Beitang Yi feigned having no money, while Tang Wang suggested they abandon the wedding and go home, claiming they hadn't brought enough funds. Hearing this from inside, Luo Feifei panicked and rushed towards the door, crying out to Beitang Yi, "Dragon Egg, don't leave!" Xie Yanran and Chu Shengnan moved to intercept her, creating an opening for Beitang Yi and Tang Wang to force their way through the door, leading to a joyful commotion inside the bridal chamber.
Meanwhile, Xifeng Lie and Su Xunxian finally located Shang Yu, who lay collapsed in a room, his forehead bleeding onto the floor. Xifeng Lie cradled him, grief-stricken and blaming himself for letting Shang Yu go alone. Chen Wang arrived, his initial shock quickly turning to fury. He commanded Xifeng Lie and Su Xunxian to stay behind while he pursued Shang Yu's killer.
Su Xunxian, noticing black writing on the ground, urged Xifeng Lie that they needed to leave immediately, vowing they would avenge Shang Yu. The Empress Dowager presided over the grand wedding ceremony. She addressed the new couples, urging Beitang Tang and Xia Bing, as well as Beitang Yi and Luo Feifei, to support each other and govern Zodiac State well. Luo Feifei, now addressed as Empress, offered tea to the Empress Dowager.
After receiving two bracelets, she cheekily offered tea a second time, earning herself two hairpins and a teasing remark from the Empress Dowager about her never wanting to suffer a loss. When it was Xia Bing's turn to offer tea, the Empress Dowager, having already given physical gifts to Luo Feifei, bestowed upon Xia Bing a hundred pieces of silk and ten thousand C-Coins.
This left Luo Feifei comically disgruntled, complaining that if she had known money was an option, she wouldn't have taken the "heavy" physical gifts. As the group left the Empress Dowager's palace for the next part of the ceremony, Xia Bing told Luo Feifei she had a stomachache and needed to use the toilet. Tang Wang offered to accompany her, but she declined, assuring him she would be fine alone. Despite her refusal, Tang Wang, still worried, secretly followed her.
Meanwhile, Zhang Tianzheng informed Beitang Yi that the Orion State army had taken up position at their border. Beitang Yi dispatched him to investigate. Zhang Tianzheng initially found no activity and suspected a false alarm, even bringing wine to his troops. However, upon closer inspection, he discovered the enemy tents were empty, realizing they had been tricked by a diversionary tactic.
Meanwhile, Xia Bing, now at the city gate, gazed at it with internal conflict, muttering to herself that her conscience wouldn't allow her to betray the trust shown to her. At the city gate, Xia Bing struggled with her conscience. Chu Shengnan and Bai Wuchen approached her, concerned that everyone was looking for her and offering to help if Tang Wang had troubled her.
Suddenly, Xia Bing heard an approaching commotion and frantically urged them to flee, revealing that the Orion State forces had arrived and the people of Zodiac State were doomed. Tang Wang, who had secretly followed Xia Bing, witnessed her distress and realization of betrayal. Orion State soldiers quickly surrounded them, disregarding Xia Bing's plea to let Chu Shengnan and Bai Wuchen go. Chu Shengnan courageously announced she would stall the attackers and urged Bai Wuchen to escape.
In the ensuing fight, Bai Wuchen bravely took a sword blow to protect Chu Shengnan. As another attack came, Chu Shengnan, unwilling to let Bai Wuchen be harmed again, stepped in front of him, taking the sword herself. As they fell to the ground, Bai Wuchen tearfully expressed his lifelong desire to protect her, a chance he now feared was lost.
Clutching his hand, Chu Shengnan confessed that she felt safe by his side and had no regrets, affectionately calling him an "idiot" and a "fool." As she pressed her hand to her abdomen, she lamented that they would never see their child. Su Xunxian and Xifeng Lie arrived at the grim scene, finding Chu Shengnan and Bai Wuchen collapsed. Their grief was interrupted by an ambush from Orion State commanders, Dali and Xiaoli.
Despite managing to kill Xiaoli, both Su Xunxian and Xifeng Lie were gravely wounded in the fierce attack. Chen Wang arrived immediately after, engaging Dali in a brutal fight and ultimately defeating him. However, Dali's dying words revealed a devastating truth: it was too late, as the liquor throughout the city had already been poisoned. Chen Wang rushed to Su Xunxian, his eyes filled with anguish, pressing on his bleeding wound and pleading with him to hold on.
Su Xunxian, mustering his last strength, gripped Chen Wang's hand, then pulled it away, insisting that Chen Wang go save the Emperor without delay. Chen Wang, with profound reluctance, departed. Su Xunxian managed a faint, bitter smile, recognizing that he might not be able to keep his promise to Chen Wang this time. His fan slipped from his grasp, and his head finally drooped.
Back in the main hall, despite the absence of Beitang Tang and Xia Bing, the officials decided to proceed with the ceremony for the Emperor and Empress due to time constraints, promising that Beitang Tang and Xia Bing could perform their salute later. Beitang Yi and Luo Feifei, magnificent in their wedding attire, entered the palace, passing rows of waiting officials.
Luo Feifei, reflecting on Beitang Yi being both her husband and the Emperor, stumbled clumsily and fell to the ground midway through. Beitang Yi cast a wry glance at her before extending his hand to help her up, while the officiant, unfazed, continued to chant the traditional blessings for the extraordinary Empress and the Constellation Emperor. The ceremony proceeded with the traditional bows to the Constellation Emperor, the late emperors, and finally, to each other.
