My Dear GuardianĀ Episode 6 Recap
> My Dear GuardianĀ Recap
Xia Chu returned home, bringing cat food, and was surprised to find Liang Muze also there. She learned he was back for a twenty-day military officer training, with weekends free. She cooked seafood porridge and offered him some. Liang Muze, without hesitation, asked for a bowl and even inquired about other food items, like steamed buns, before trying her homemade whole grain pancakes. Feeling bossed around, Xia Chu jokingly recounted a story about a doctor poisoning a demanding housemate.
Liang Muze countered with a tale of a Special Forces soldier turning the tables on his poisoner. Xia Chu, annoyed, then offered to spoil the ending of a detective novel for him, which he found as frustrating as severe constipation. She vented her frustration, comparing him to a "braised egg" who treated her like a babysitter, warning him of future "warnings." After Liang Muze finished showering, Xia Chu, still annoyed, first teased him by mentioning durian, which he strongly disliked.
She then playfully offered him tea, which he initially refused. Xia Chu persisted, eventually convincing him to try the tea. He recognized it as Pre-Qingming Longjing, suitable for kids, surprising Xia Chu with his knowledge. She offered to give him more tea for his grandmother, only for Liang Muze to reveal his grandmother had passed away a long time ago.
Xia Chu apologized, but Liang Muze quickly suggested that if she truly felt sorry, she could lend him a bedsheet for his unmade bed. Xia Chu agreed at first, then realized she had no reason to apologize, and plotted her revenge by providing him with a bright, cartoonish Sailor Moon bedding set, which left him exasperated. The next morning, Xia Chu, rushing to get ready, accidentally entered Liang Muzeās bathroom, catching him shirtless. Embarrassed, she quickly apologized and left.
Before she could depart, Liang Muze handed her a cup of whipping cream from her fridge, which she mistook for milk and drank. Upon realizing it was cream, she was furious about the high calories, but had to leave for work. Her taxi was a no-show, forcing her to accept a ride from Liang Muze. During the drive, she felt nauseous from the cream, and Liang Muze seemed to deliberately drive faster, making her condition worse.
She accused him of retaliation for the Sailor Moon sheets, which he playfully denied. Upon their arrival at the hospital, Zhuo Ran was already waiting for Xia Chu. Seeing Liang Muze, Zhuo Ran immediately contacted a comrade, hinting at an investigation into Liang Muzeās identity.
Zhuo Ran then proceeded to discuss a potential collaboration between his company and Xia Chu's hospital on 3D technology, seeking to establish a non-profit fund for research to accelerate the incubation of 3D technology research results, seemingly as a pretext to get closer to Xia Chu. Later, during her rounds, Xia Chu observed patient Luo Xiaojun drinking milk. The sight triggered her nausea, reminding her of the whipping cream.
Luo Xiaojun, misinterpreting her retching, loudly proclaimed that Xia Chu was pregnant, causing her immense embarrassment. Shortly after, Xia Chu was informed that she had been "unanimously recommended" by her colleagues to temporarily assist a military medical unit, as she was conveniently absent when the decision was made. Luo Xiaojun continued to tease her about the supposed pregnancy and Liang Muze's responsibility, further irritating Xia Chu.
Xia Chu arrived at the military base, observing Liang Muze participating in a training exercise where soldiers were shooting at beer bottles, a display some called "The Heavenly Maid Scatters Blossoms." She heard him being called "the God of Guns" but secretly thought of him as "mental." After the training, Liang Muze approached her, claiming to have injured his arm and asking for treatment.
As she cleaned and dressed his wound, Xia Chu criticized his "trick" shooting as impractical for real combat scenarios. Liang Muze responded by fabricating a dramatic story about a hostage rescue mission where an officer had to precisely shoot a falling gas tank to prevent an explosion, using it to illustrate the necessity of unusual training methods in combat. Xia Chu called him "smart," and he admitted he made up the story to prove his point.
After work, Xia Chu went to the supermarket and bought a snakehead fish to make soup for Liang Muze, hoping it would help his injury heal. At dinner, Liang Muze complained the soup was bland and tried to add salt. Xia Chu, concerned about his health and the impact on his recovery, physically tried to stop him, warning him about the dangers of excessive salt intake, such as increased kidney burden, calcium loss, and inducing various diseases including stomach cancer.
He, in turn, mockingly suggested she was experiencing "early menopause." Their struggle over the bowl resulted in it crashing to the floor and breaking. The next day, Xia Chu went shopping for new tableware with Mi Gu, lamenting Liang Muze's peculiar habits, like his insistence on adding too much salt, his strange poses in the living room at night, and his habit of keeping curtains drawn during the day, which made the house feel lifeless.
She even complained about his criticism of her singing and his feeding raw meat to her cat, Er Miao. Mi Gu suggested his military background might explain his constant vigilance, but Xia Chu countered that he was simply too bossy, always wanting to control everything.
Despite her complaints, when Mi Gu asked if Liang Muze had any good qualities, Xia Chu grudgingly admitted he was tidy, made his bed neatly, occasionally drove her to work, and had even stayed with her in the living room during a thunderstorm when she was scared, advising her to try meditation for her insomnia.
Mi Gu then pointed out that Xia Chu's complaints sounded exactly like a cohabiting couple in the "adjustment phase," which made Xia Chu blush and quickly deny any romantic implications. Mi Gu, meanwhile, had to leave to meet Zhuo Ran.
