Recalling information from Zhang Yichi, Liang Muze learned that the replaced medication, while not immediately fatal, contained an overdose of Aristolochia, an adjuvant that poses a risk of liver cancer with long-term use. Its porous structure, a characteristic of 3D-printed drugs, allowed for easy dissolution. This detail brought to Liang Muze's mind Zhuo Ran, a former high school classmate who had mysteriously disappeared years ago and now owned a 3D printing company.
Suspecting a connection, Liang Muze contacted Rao Feng, sharing the findings of the drug swap investigation and requesting an inquiry into Zhuo Ran. Rao Feng agreed, asking for Zhuo Ran's basic information. Meanwhile, the superior command assigned Thunderbolt Commando to assist the Public Security Bureau with security at an upcoming medical conference, as intelligence indicated the international terrorist organization T4, which Liang Muze and Tian Yong had previously encountered in Isaia, would be present.
Liang Muze, codenamed Whale, was put in charge of the operation, with Tian Yong assisting with vehicle and parking area security, and Xiao Teng and Xiang Yang coordinating with security personnel inside the hotel. Upon arriving at the hotel for the conference, Liang Muze confirmed with Rao Feng that Zhuo Ran was also staying there, having booked a long-term suite. It was a significant coincidence, raising Liang Muzeās suspicions further.
Zhuo Ran, posing as an intern reporter, entered the hotel and retrieved a hidden Bluetooth earphone to instruct his accomplice, Long Yi, to proceed with their plan. He then met Mi Gu, Xia Chu's friend who was also a reporter, and obtained a press pass for the summit meeting.
An agent, codenamed Fox, observed Zhuo Ran receiving the pass, noting that the known information about him was limited to him being an average Vitalik businessman who founded a 3D printing company after studying industrial design in Germany. His motive for attending the summit was unclear but presumed to be business-related, aiming to expand his network and gather industry insights. Separately, Liang Shaoxue landed at Ningjiang Airport. Xia Chu was there to pick her up, having cancelled her own plans.
Xia Guang Yuan, Xia Chu's father, called from Ningjiang, where he was attending a conference and giving speeches. He invited Xia Chu to dinner, but she declined, citing night duty at the hospital. Xia Chu then called Liang Shaoxue, only for a cleaner to answer, reporting that Liang Shaoxue was asleep on a toilet seat in a cubicle. Xia Chu, disbelieving the person could be Liang Shaoxue, compared her to a photo given by Liang Muze.
Liang Shaoxue abruptly woke up, startled Xia Chu, and confirmed her identity. She then complained about an animal therapist, a parrot, that Dr Letney had arranged for her to adopt, which the agency had lost from quarantine. Throwing her luggage at Xia Chu, Liang Shaoxue abruptly drove off. Just as Xia Chu stood bewildered, Zhang Yichi called, summoning her back to the hospital.
Xia Chu, rushing back to work, left a frustrated voice message for Liang Muze about Liang Shaoxue's erratic behavior and her escape. Moments after driving away, Liang Shaoxue was involved in a rear-end collision at an intersection. Her car was rented, so she insisted on calling the police. The other driver, claiming it was entirely Liang Shaoxueās fault, dismissed the need for police involvement. He then tricked her by pretending the police were arriving, and quickly drove away.
At the hotel, Zhuo Ran's presence continued to draw the attention of both Liang Muze and Rao Feng, who kept him under close surveillance. Xia Guang Yuan, attending the conference at the same hotel, also became a point of interest for Zhuo Ran. Zhuo Ran was observed closely following the man accompanying Xia Guang Yuan, later sending a photo of this man to his accomplice, Koala.
Just then, Liang Shaoxue suddenly appeared at the hotel entrance, attempting to enter without a pass. Liang Muze, observing her, immediately ordered Gopher (Tian Yong) to bring her to the command room. Meanwhile, Liang Shaoxue had followed the driver she had hit earlier to the hotelās underground parking lot. The driver, now revealed to be armed, attempted to run her over with his car. Thankfully, members of Team Thunder intervened, rescuing Liang Shaoxue and subduing one of the gunmen.
Rao Feng quickly called for SWAT reinforcements to the underground parking garage. Before the reinforcements arrived, Tian Yong engaged in a dangerous struggle with the armed driver, ultimately subduing him. The other gunman, who was with the driver, committed suicide by taking poison. Rao Feng immediately ordered rescue attempts for him. During the conference banquet, Mi Gu approached Xia Guang Yuan for an exclusive interview, which he agreed to.
As they moved to a quieter area to talk, a man who had previously stalked Mi Gu suddenly attacked her, unintentionally injuring Xia Guang Yuan's back in the process. The man accompanying Xia Guang Yuan and Zhuo Ran both rushed to assist. The man accompanying Xia Guang Yuan seemed to recognize Zhuo Ran and, feeling uneasy, attempted to flee. Seeing his escape, Zhuo Ran immediately instructed Long Yi to execute Plan B.
At the same time, Liang Muze also noticed the suspicious behavior of the fleeing man and went after him. As the man tried to escape, Long Yi opened fire on him. Liang Muze then discovered a sniper positioned in a high-rise building west of the hotel and ordered his capture. However, the man accompanying Xia Guang Yuan managed to evade Liang Muze's pursuit.
Returning to the hotel, Liang Muze found Liang Shaoxue in a heated argument with Rao Feng, who was struggling to manage her. Rao Feng, exasperated, asked Liang Muze for help. Knowing Liang Shaoxueās temperament, Liang Muze waited for her to calm down before asking what had happened. He then calmly told her that she would be responsible for paying the compensation for the rented car. Liang Shaoxueās demeanor instantly changed, and she attempted to charm Liang Muze into pity.
Liang Muze initially suggested Tian Yong take her home. However, Liang Shaoxue recognized Tian Yong as the one who had saved her in the underground garage and playfully lunged at him, startling Tian Yong. Seeing this, Liang Muze assigned Tian Yong to manage the ongoing operations at the scene and took Liang Shaoxue home himself. Later, Tang Lin escorted an injured Xia Guang Yuan to Xia Chu's hospital. Xia Chu was deeply concerned, but Xia Guang Yuan reassured her that his back injury was not serious. Tang Lin added that Zhuo Ran had been helpful during the incident.
