Fu Zi confronted her father, Fu Fangshu, about his sudden change of heart regarding her job with Hao Zeyu, especially after he had tried to prevent her from working there. Fu Fangshu, coerced by Niu Meili with compromising photos, had been forced to accept a lower salary for Fu Zi, though Niu Meili also announced that Fu Fangshu himself would supplement her income by ¥500 monthly.

Fu Zi, initially pleased, quickly became suspicious of her father's abrupt shift in attitude from being against her working to even offering to be Hao Zeyu’s driver and bodyguard. Fu Fangshu, burdened by concern for Fu Zi’s well-being after her recent foot injury, explained that he simply wanted to ensure her safety by being around her, as he feared for her if he wasn't there to follow her.

Feeling remorseful that her father had to endure such hardships for her, Fu Zi apologized for being unable to provide him a better life. Fu Fangshu, in turn, jokingly told her to eat less to make up for it and playfully deflected her question about whether he was dating anyone. Fu Zi then excitedly informed Niu Meili that, with Teng Dan's help, she had secured a meeting with Director Peng for Saturday evening at Xiaoyun Restaurant.

Niu Meili, while praising Fu Zi's efforts, still used the opportunity to subtly assert her own superiority over Teng Dan, Hao Zeyu's former agent. Niu Meili outlined her ambitious plans for Fu Zi, promising systematic training for an agent's qualification certificate and a place in the company’s "core management," which, she pointed out, consisted of only three people.

Niu Meili instructed Fu Zi to keep Teng Dan's involvement a secret, wanting Hao Zeyu to feel indebted to her for arranging the meeting. She also revealed her intention to officially integrate Fu Fangshu into their "startup team" as a "competent contributor" and mentioned buying a "decent" used car with Fu Fangshu to boost Hao Zeyu's image.

At the used car market, Fu Fangshu expressed his discomfort with Niu Meili's "tricks" regarding money, particularly after she presented him with an IOU that effectively made him pay her to work for her. Niu Meili dismissed his complaints, revealing she had sold all her valuable bags for this venture, driven by her deep-seated desire to chase her dream before it was too late.

She argued that the entertainment industry, despite its challenges, keeps her young and smiling, a sentiment she hoped Fu Fangshu would embrace by joining their team. On the day of the meeting, Niu Meili and Fu Zi, dressed smartly, picked up Hao Zeyu in the newly acquired car driven by Fu Fangshu.

Hao Zeyu was apprehensive about riding with Fu Fangshu, who Niu Meili continued to control with the compromising photos from the previous night, forcing him to be polite to Hao Zeyu. Before entering the Xiaoyun Restaurant, Niu Meili instructed Fu Fangshu to wait outside and promised to pack him expensive leftovers. Inside, after a long wait, Director Peng finally arrived.

Hao Zeyu attempted to build rapport by reminding Director Peng of a past encounter where he mistook Hao Zeyu for a doorman and gave him a ¥10 bill, which Hao Zeyu had kept as a "lucky charm." Niu Meili then introduced herself as Hao Zeyu's agent, lavishly praised Director Peng's films, and ordered the most expensive dishes.

As the evening progressed and drinks flowed, Director Peng, heavily intoxicated, commented that Fu Zi resembled an old acquaintance and insisted she drink with him. Fu Zi, unable to drink, refused, explaining that alcohol made her "neurotic." Hao Zeyu intervened, offering to drink on her behalf, but Director Peng provocatively questioned if Fu Zi would also play Hao Zeyu's role in his stead. In the ensuing struggle, Fu Zi accidentally spilled wine on Director Peng's clothes.

Director Peng, after dismissing their apologies and telling them to sit down, maliciously poured a glass of wine over Fu Zi's head. Enraged, Hao Zeyu immediately retaliated by grabbing a bottle of liquor and drenching Director Peng with it. After the tumultuous dinner, Fu Zi was furious with Hao Zeyu, blaming him for ruining their chance with Director Peng, especially given the ¥5,000 cost of the meal.

She believed she could have endured the humiliation for the sake of the opportunity. Niu Meili, however, defended Hao Zeyu's actions, even declaring she would have "lit him on fire" if he hadn't reacted. Fu Fangshu, called to the scene, arrived to comfort his daughter, urging her to overcome setbacks and succeed. Hao Zeyu, still incensed, defiantly called Director Peng a "stupid director" and declared, "Fu Zi is mine! No one can bully her."

Fu Zi and Fu Fangshu found this claim amusing, despite the seriousness of the situation. As they drove home, a traffic police officer stopped them for a breathalyzer test due to the strong smell of alcohol. Ironically, only Fu Fangshu, who had waited outside the restaurant, had to be tested, much to the amusement of Fu Zi and Niu Meili. Back home, Fu Zi considered making another attempt to salvage the situation, believing Director Peng wasn't inherently bad.

This enraged Fu Fangshu, who vehemently opposed the idea, reminding her of the director's disrespectful behavior and scolding Fu Zi for having "no guts." Early the next morning, Fu Zi, armed with a bottle of liquor, went to Director Peng's hotel to apologize, practicing various scenarios in her head. To her surprise, she encountered Hao Zeyu already there. They exchanged awkward pleasantries, both pretending to be merely "walking around."

As Director Peng emerged, Hao Zeyu swiftly approached him, took out a bottle of alcohol, and poured it over his own head as a sincere apology for his impulsiveness the previous night. He made it clear that his apology was not an attempt to secure a role in Director Peng's film.

Although Director Peng claimed to have forgotten the incident, Hao Zeyu pressed him, reminding him that pouring alcohol on a young woman like Fu Zi would reflect poorly on him if word got out. Fu Zi, trying to de-escalate, quickly intervened, suggesting Director Peng was simply trying to "improve her drinking capacity." Director Peng then apologized, explaining he had mistakenly assumed "girls in Beijing had great drinking capacities."

Unexpectedly, he then offered them a chance to act in his new film, titled "The Fatter One Dies First," but stipulated that Hao Zeyu had to gain 10kg. Fu Zi enthusiastically accepted, assuring him Hao Zeyu could gain even more, and tried to present Director Peng with two bottles of Erguotou as a token of apology. Hao Zeyu, however, dismissed her attempt as a cheap bribe.

He then reiterated his "manly" stance to Director Peng and walked away without the script, leaving a teary and conflicted Fu Zi to ponder the unexpected turn of events. Meanwhile, Gu Dapeng continued his persistent pursuit of Niu Meili, bringing an abundance of expensive gifts to Fu Fangshu's house, which he received due to his recent house demolition.

Fu Fangshu, aware of Gu Dapeng's romantic intentions, tried to dissuade him, describing Niu Meili as sharp-tongued, arrogant, and capricious, believing they were incompatible. However, Gu Dapeng was undeterred, expressing his admiration for strong women who could protect his newfound wealth and provide companionship. Reluctantly, Fu Fangshu agreed to arrange a meeting. At a subsequent dinner at Fu Fangshu's home, Niu Meili quickly recognized Gu Dapeng's "nouveau riche" demeanor and proceeded to get him heavily intoxicated.

Fu Fangshu, returning from the kitchen to find Gu Dapeng passed out, angrily accused Niu Meili of bullying an honest man, clarifying that he had arranged a blind date, not a drinking session. Niu Meili, equally furious, accused Fu Fangshu of making her "accompany him to drink" and feeling "lowly." She asserted her independence and clarified that her earlier complaints about loneliness were jokes, not pleas for a subpar match.

Leaving in a huff, Niu Meili later found solace in music and wine, reflecting on the solitude of her life despite her brave front. With Hao Zeyu needing to gain weight for the role, Niu Meili assigned Fu Zi the daunting task of ensuring he gained 10kg within a month, providing a strict daily budget of ¥200, with any overspending to be covered by Fu Zi herself.

Despite his previous drunken encounter, Gu Dapeng remained persistent, visiting Niu Meili with more gifts to apologize. Upon his visit, Niu Meili began to subtly trick him, aiming to leverage his newly acquired demolition money.
