Mr. Fighting Episode 33 Recap
> Mr. Fighting Recap
Fu Zi, blushing, retreated to her room, stating she needed to "brew" her thoughts. She then drank an entire bottle of wine. Outside, Hao Zeyu waited, bundled up, engaged in an intense internal struggle as both longed to approach the other under the guise of script-reading, yet were exceedingly bashful. Emboldened by the wine, Fu Zi emerged and attempted to kiss Hao Zeyu but passed out midway.
Hao Zeyu laboriously carried the unconscious Fu Zi upstairs, safely tucking her into bed, almost out of breath. The confused and drunken Fu Zi confessed her feelings, saying, "You can kiss me because I like you." Hearing this, Hao Zeyu, overjoyed and with a nascent smile, seriously suggested, "Let's just date directly." Fu Zi, having fallen into a deep sleep, did not respond. Hao Zeyu stood by the window, head bowed, smiling like someone experiencing first love.
The next morning, as dawn broke, Hao Zeyu, filled with joy, brought soy milk to Fu Zi and proposed they "date today," fulfilling a promise he had made earlier to help her experience dating. He explained they should cast aside all work and earnestly engage in a full day of romance. Fu Zi, still waking up, was a bit dazed but ultimately agreed.
She was very happy and made it clear that as it was her wish, Hao Zeyu must listen to all her demands, to which he readily accepted. Meanwhile, Zhao Xiaobei brought Niu Meili to a film school to scout for new talent. Niu Meili was overwhelmed by the sight of so many young hopefuls, wanting to sign them all.
Zhao Xiaobei arranged for several film students to perform their talents, but Niu Meili found them one by one alarming, with acts like clapper talk and opera, leaving her unimpressed and even scared. She set her standards high, feeling no one could be worse than Hao Zeyu, and grew suspicious of Zhao Xiaobei's intentions, realizing he wasn't well-intentioned.
Later, Niu Meili continuously complained to Fu Zi's father about Zhao Xiaobei's "ill intentions," but Fu Zi's father insightfully pointed out that her anger stemmed from insecurity and a crisis of confidence as Hao Zeyu improved, fearing he might leave her once he gained independence.
He advised her that Hao Zeyu's presence or departure was a matter of fate, but Niu Meili, having gone through many hardships with Hao Zeyu, found it difficult to accept him leaving so easily, remaining resentful and unwilling to listen. For their "love day," Fu Zi took Hao Zeyu to a park near her home.
Hao Zeyu complained about the lack of romance, finding it particularly unappealing, but Fu Zi was content simply being together, feeling satisfied just being with him. She produced instant noodles from her bag. Hao Zeyu, though initially dismissive, still felt a craving and snatched them, a memory of a previous instant noodle meal with Fu Zi and his promise to buy her clothes from the mall flashing through his mind.
He then suggested they buy clothes, emphasizing that they could now afford them. In the deserted winter park, Hao Zeyu gradually felt the atmosphere of love, as Fu Zi shyly leaned her head on his shoulder, quietly watching the falling leaves. This day, though ordinary and lacking formal romance, made Fu Zi feel particularly happy and grateful to Hao Zeyu, as her desired love was simple, and she was happy and content just holding hands.
That evening, Fu Zi prepared a table full of dishes and lit red candles at Hao Zeyu's home, creating a lovely atmosphere. Fu Zi expressed her great satisfaction with the day's dating experience, stating she didn't yearn for formal romance, only simple togetherness. Hao Zeyu had prepared sparklers for her as a small romantic gesture. They went outside, lit the sparklers, and waved them in the night sky, envisioning a radiant future and feeling very happy.
Hao Zeyu remarked, "How beautiful the moon is tonight." Fu Zi looked up and corrected him, "There's no moon tonight." Hao Zeyu was momentarily speechless, explaining that he meant it as a confession of his feelings. Fu Zi then lowered her head, slightly crestfallen but still very happy, acknowledging that she understood this "love day" was part of his work and acting experience.
In what seemed like an ill-timed moment, she also reminded him not to use his feelings to avoid repaying her, asserting her incorruptible and impartial nature. Hao Zeyu, watching her, was exasperated, feeling she should be saying sweet words in that atmosphere, but was also so moved that he instinctively leaned in and left a light kiss on her lips.
Fu Zi's mind buzzed like blooming fireworks, and after a long silence, she shyly asked if he intended to use the kiss to repay his debt, then broke into a foolish smile. Hao Zeyu held Fu Zi tightly in his arms, even playfully comparing her to a quilt. He expressed regret that he had helped her fulfill this wish, as one day was far too short.
He reflected that he liked Fu Zi, finding her "not bad," though Fu Zi complained about his remark, feeling wronged. Fu Zi hugged him back tightly and shyly promised to "reward" him with another day after he returned from filming. Following their "love day," the relationship between Hao Zeyu and Fu Zi grew more ambiguous. The next morning, Hao Zeyu brought a steaming cup of soy milk, carefully kept warm, to Fu Zi.
He tried to pick a flower and place it in her hair, but Fu Zi's father promptly interrupted them. The pair even spent a full hour "chasing pigeons" on the rooftop, only for Fu Zi's father to appear again and shoo them away. Whenever Fu Zi's father saw Hao Zeyu and Fu Zi together, he would sit between them, driven by a strong sense of possessive crisis.
Later, as Hao Zeyu and Fu Zi relaxed on the sofa, feeding each other snacks, Fu Zi's father, seeing their closeness, once again positioned himself between them. That night, taking advantage of Fu Zi's father's snoring, Hao Zeyu stealthily crept into Fu Zi's room, placing an empty wine bottle outside the door as a makeshift alarm. They sat by the bay window, looking at the moon and stars, with Hao Zeyu holding Fu Zi's hand.
Fu Zi shared her decision not to join him for his upcoming filming, a plan Hao Zeyu had also considered. Fu Zi then playfully feigned anger, suggesting he intended to stay in Beijing so he could date other actresses on set. Knowing he would be gone for several months, Fu Zi asked if he would miss Beijing. Hao Zeyu replied that he didn't know if he would miss Beijing, but he would certainly miss her.
Later that night, Fu Zi's father awoke to find Hao Zeyu missing. He rushed out of his room to check on Fu Zi, but tripped over the wine bottle, causing a noise. Hearing the sound, Hao Zeyu quickly scurried back to his own room. Fu Zi, meanwhile, quickly pulled the covers over herself and feigned sleep. When her father entered her room and saw her sleeping soundly, he was confused but returned to his room.
There, he saw Hao Zeyu already lying in bed, sleeping, which struck him as inexplicable, almost like seeing a ghost. The following morning at breakfast, Fu Zi attentively peeled shrimp for Hao Zeyu, and Hao Zeyu likewise served her food. Watching their tender interaction, Fu Zi's father, clearly annoyed, angrily served food onto Hao Zeyu's plate as well.
