Niu Meili rushed home, concerned that Ren Jiajia hadn't eaten, only to find that Ren Jiajia, who was staying with her, had already cooked noodles for her. Niu Meili was saddened by Ren Jiajia's father's words and, though reluctant, informed Ren Jiajia of her father's upcoming marriage. She encouraged Ren Jiajia to accept her future stepmother, explaining that her father wanted to provide her with a complete home.
Ren Jiajia misunderstood, thinking Niu Meili wanted her to leave, and in a fit of anger, departed Niu Meili's house, forbidding her to follow. With nowhere else to go, Ren Jiajia made her way across Beijing to Fu Zi's house, looking for Hao Zeyu. Fu Zi told her Hao Zeyu wasn't home and invited her inside.
Fu Zi's father began to scold Ren Jiajia, who tearfully complained that no one had cared about her growing up, and now that her mother had died, everyone was pretending to care. She also asked Fu Zi if she, too, had lost her mother. When Hao Zeyu returned and heard this, he immediately dragged Ren Jiajia upstairs to the rooftop.
Niu Meili, having rushed over, worried that the "big scoundrel" Hao Zeyu and "little scoundrel" Ren Jiajia would cause trouble, and attempted to intervene. However, Fu Zi and her father remained calm, believing that "violence against violence" was better than being helpless. On the rooftop, Hao Zeyu loudly lamented Teng Dan's tragic life, calling her child and partner "scoundrels." Ren Jiajia tried to stop him from speaking of her mother that way, eventually falling into his arms and crying.
After calming down, Hao Zeyu and Ren Jiajia talked. Hao Zeyu understood that Ren Jiajia was worried her father's remarriage meant Teng Dan would be forgotten. He advised her that the best way to remember someone is to let go of sadness, regret, and unwillingness, to live openly, tell them you're doing well, and bid farewell to the old life, so the departed can rest assured.
Ren Jiajia asked if he had achieved this, and Hao Zeyu admitted he was still trying. After an entire night of emotional turmoil, Ren Jiajia requested Fu Zi's father make her sauce noodles, and Hao Zeyu reminded him to make one bowl for each of them. Meanwhile, Niu Meili grew increasingly distressed by Hao Zeyu's attitude.
Zhao Xiaobei advised her not to take Hao Zeyu too seriously and encouraged her to sign new artists, assuring her that he would handle the process. Hao Zeyu met with Director Wang to sign a contract. Director Wang apologized for the previous incident involving Teng Dan's photo and expressed his belief that Hao Zeyu's past experiences would make him a good actor. He gave Hao Zeyu the script, which required him to portray a character in love.
Director Wang instructed Hao Zeyu to experience falling in love during the month before filming began, believing that only by knowing how to love could one truly understand human nature. He also felt that Hao Zeyu must have someone in his life who made his heart flutter. On his way home, Hao Zeyu texted Yan Rujing to thank her. For his romantic research, Hao Zeyu immediately thought of Fu Zi, as both of them had never been in a relationship.
Hao Zeyu told Fu Zi about the romance scenes and asked her to practice the script with him, admitting his lack of experience. Fu Zi's father vehemently disagreed, lamenting that Hao Zeyu, who had come to them for refuge, was now like "inviting a wolf into the house." He declared that he would practice the script with Hao Zeyu instead, leaving Hao Zeyu speechless. After dinner, Hao Zeyu and Fu Zi's father went to the rooftop to "find the feeling."
Fu Zi watched from the window, laughing uncontrollably as the two men awkwardly practiced romance scenes, almost coming to blows again. They moved their practice to the bedroom, where Fu Zi's father read the cheesy lines clumsily, offering his own commentary, which caused Hao Zeyu to "collapse" in exasperation. Just as they were about to sleep, Fu Zi's father called Hao Zeyu up again to impart his wisdom on love.
He explained that he had only had one relationship in his life but was lucky enough to meet the right person—Fu Zi's mother—whom he had pursued relentlessly. He believed that common people's love was simple and about living a down-to-earth life. Hao Zeyu, though teasingly, responded that young people today longed for both tranquility and passion, not just simplicity. Fu Zi's father retorted that one profound relationship could last a lifetime.
Hao Zeyu listened thoughtfully to Fu Zi's father and mother's love story. The next morning, Hao Zeyu dressed up, announcing his plan to "cast a wide net" by visiting Beijing's three major holy sites for matchmaking. Fu Zi was speechless, scolding him for being heartless and unrighteous, and declared she wouldn't let him "harm" other girls.
She decided to "sacrifice herself" and practice the script with him, agreeing to meet in the backyard that night after Fu Zi's father had fallen asleep. Meanwhile, Yan Rujing was not pressuring Hao Zeyu, confident that victory was secured. Director Wang had cast a newcomer for the female lead. Yan Rujing informed Bai Jiajiao that she had worked hard to secure her a cameo role.
Bai Jiajiao smiled outwardly but rolled her eyes inwardly, complaining about being merely a "foil" for a newcomer. Yan Rujing simply hoped Bai Jiajiao would consider the role carefully. That night, as Fu Zi's father's snores echoed, Hao Zeyu tiptoed to the backyard with the script. Fu Zi helped him practice his lines, but they both found the romance scenes incredibly awkward, with Hao Zeyu even remarking that it was worse than practicing with Fu Zi's father.
Fu Zi struggled to get into character, so Hao Zeyu decided to skip the lines and suggest a kiss scene. He proposed Fu Zi kiss him, thinking it might help her immerse herself in the role. Fu Zi was frightened and shook her head, but after much deliberation, hesitantly agreed. However, she found she couldn't bring herself to do it. Hao Zeyu, somewhat excited, had leaned forward, but seeing her hesitation, then said he would kiss Fu Zi instead.
