Mr. Fighting Episode 13 Recap
> Mr. Fighting Recap
Fu Zi’s father carefully packed a variety of medicines, including vitamin C and cold remedies, into her luggage. He also gave her a stack of cash, which deeply moved Fu Zi. Meanwhile, Fu Zi herself meticulously prepared numerous items for Hao Zeyu’s trip to the film set, such as fruits, Chinese anise, cumin, and an electric cooker, fearing he might not adapt to the local food. She was determined to be the most thoughtful assistant.
Her father, while outwardly gruff, couldn't hide his concern, urging her to take care of herself. Hao Zeyu was also packing, preparing for his first significant role in a film. Niu Meili, having received a selection of clothes from Zhao Xiaobei, praised his taste and chose a specific outfit for Hao Zeyu to wear for an "airport look." Fu Zi was thrilled about the plane tickets, but Hao Zeyu expressed nervousness about flying and wished to travel by train instead.
He firmly refused to wear the outfit Niu Meili had picked, but she insisted on the "airport look" for publicity. She announced she wouldn't be seeing them off. On the way to the airport, Fu Zi gazed out the window with excitement, while Hao Zeyu seemed preoccupied and troubled. Upon arrival, only one of the three members of Hao Zeyu's fan club showed up.
Fu Zi quickly instructed her to mingle with Bai Jiaojiao's larger fan group and shout Hao Zeyu’s name. When Bai Jiaojiao appeared, Fu Zi pushed Hao Zeyu closer, hoping he would get into her photographs. Unexpectedly, a young woman named Xiao Xiao approached Hao Zeyu, tearfully telling him she had admired him for ten years and that he had inspired her to attend university in Beijing.
She presented him with a jar of intricately folded paper cranes, which brought a look of profound gratitude to Hao Zeyu’s face. Fu Zi, witnessing the genuine interaction and the dedication Hao Zeyu could inspire despite his struggles, felt deeply moved. She then insisted on upgrading Hao Zeyu’s seat to first class, reasoning it was a crucial opportunity for him to network with Bai Jiaojiao.
Despite Hao Zeyu’s reluctance, Fu Zi paid for the upgrade, asserting it was a rare chance for him to advance his career. In the VIP lounge, Fu Zi eagerly helped herself to a generous amount of free food. Hao Zeyu asked her to prepare him some instant noodles. Bai Jiaojiao, observing this, seized the moment to subtly mock Hao Zeyu, implying he was undeserving of first class, especially after trying to gain exposure by appearing in her photos earlier.
Hao Zeyu, though embarrassed, defended their actions by stating they were for his career and his assistant’s benefit, and requested that Bai Jiaojiao be more respectful towards Fu Zi. Bai Jiaojiao responded with a dismissive laugh. Defiant, Hao Zeyu declared his intention to focus on acting properly. As the flight neared departure, Hao Zeyu grew increasingly anxious. He tried to get Fu Zi to upgrade her seat so she could sit with him, but Bai Jiaojiao abruptly interrupted their conversation.
Fu Zi, relegated to economy class, worried about Hao Zeyu in first class. Once the plane began its ascent, Hao Zeyu squeezed his eyes shut and gripped his seatbelt tightly, his fear of flying evident. Bai Jiaojiao noticed his distress and offered him sleeping pills, advising him that sleep was the best remedy for such fears, and that he would face much greater challenges in the future. He swallowed the pill but still struggled to sleep.
From economy, Fu Zi repeatedly asked a flight attendant to deliver fruits and snacks to Hao Zeyu, much to Bai Jiaojiao’s annoyance. Eventually, Hao Zeyu declared to Bai Jiaojiao that Fu Zi was the one who gave him a sense of security. He then exchanged seats with a passenger, moving to sit beside Fu Zi.
Although Fu Zi initially grumbled about the money spent on the first-class upgrade, Hao Zeyu, now visibly calmer, held her hand and closed his eyes, finally at ease. After landing, Fu Zi’s excitement quickly turned to disappointment when she discovered that the production crew had arranged for them to stay in an unremarkable inn, not the five-star hotel she had anticipated. To make matters worse, Bai Jiaojiao’s driver took the room that was initially assigned to Fu Zi.
Consequently, Fu Zi ended up sleeping on the floor in Hao Zeyu’s room. Later that night, Hao Zeyu, unable to sleep, woke Fu Zi. She asked him why he was so afraid of flying. With a somber expression, Hao Zeyu confided that his father had died in a plane crash. He shared that his father, an actor in a city theater troupe, had introduced him to the world of acting, despite their often strained relationship.
At eighteen, Hao Zeyu declared his own desire to become an actor, leading to a heated argument with his father. Defiantly, Hao Zeyu left home to participate in a talent show, where he was discovered by Teng Dan. His early career was demanding, requiring him to travel to many cities each month, leaving him no time to visit his father.
He eventually arranged for his father to come to Beijing, but his father passed away on the flight due to health complications. They never had a chance to reconcile, a regret that haunted Hao Zeyu deeply. Fu Zi, hearing his poignant story, was deeply sympathetic and moved closer to comfort him. Hao Zeyu then confessed his nervousness about the next day’s filming, admitting it had been a long time since he had genuinely acted in a significant role.
The next day, Fu Zi explored the film set with wide-eyed wonder. Back home, Niu Meili showed Fu Zi’s photos to her father, who feigned disinterest but secretly cherished them. Fu Zi called Niu Meili, but intentionally omitted the less-than-ideal living conditions, while her father kept interjecting, reminding her to take good care of herself.
