The two of them return to Fairy Spring again. Xiao Wudi analyzes the pattern of the recent summons and concludes that the crucial factor isn't Nan Xing's state at the time, but that she needs a perfect boyfriend. Nan Xing grows nervous and is forced to reveal her wish. Xiao Wudi becomes angry, accusing her of speaking recklessly, which caused him to be stuck in the modern world and unable to return.

Nan Xing doesn’t understand—she hasn’t competed or fought for anything, so why is she unworthy of love? Xiao Wudi, furious, says that with his personality, he would never help her with romantic matters. But when he sees the modern survival guide Nan Xing made for him, he feels a touch of emotion. Nan Xing drinks alone in silence. Suddenly, a heavy rain starts, and Xiao Wudi appears before her holding an umbrella.

Nan Xing thinks Xiao Wudi has come to mock her again, so she pretends to be strong and insists on going home by herself. Xiao Wudi stands in her way and says he’ll give her a love so unforgettable it will be etched in her bones. Nan Xing thinks Xiao Wudi wants to fall in love with her, but quickly realizes she overthought it.

Xiao Wudi means he’ll help her find a boyfriend—this way, he can complete his mission and perhaps return home sooner. Nan Xing feels embarrassed and deliberately claims that she isn’t lacking in suitors. The two banter and prepare to go home, only to run into Nan Xing’s mother at the door. On a whim, Nan Xing introduces Xiao Wudi to her mom as Sisi’s cousin. Her mother cooks a large meal and invites Xiao Wudi to eat at their home.

Nan Xing’s mother is very fond of Xiao Wudi and asks about his background and work. Xiao Wudi says he helps others solve love problems, and Nan Xing’s mom interprets this as being a dating consultant. After Xiao Wudi leaves, she encourages Nan Xing to seize the opportunity, believing she’s interested in Xiao Wudi—otherwise, why would she rent the apartment across from theirs to him?

Xiao Wudi agrees with Nan Xing to go to her school to find a romantic substitute. Seeing her situation, he feels even more certain he won’t be able to return. Sisi comes to flirt with Xiao Wudi and reveals that Nan Xing has never dated. Xiao Wudi is visibly disgusted and further convinced of his idea. He realizes that finding a match for Nan Xing is nearly impossible.

Nan Xing doesn’t want to keep Xiao Wudi and tells him to do his best to find a solution—she won’t let him stay. Xiao Wudi thinks she’s hopeless and decides to handle things himself. Nan Xing arrives at the office early and enthusiastically prepares flowers for everyone, trying to make a good impression. But her colleagues don’t think highly of her, believing Lu Zichen will definitely fire her.

Lu Zichen arrives at the office and runs into the clumsy Nan Xing. As soon as Nan Xing sees him, she’s tongue-tied. Lu Zichen questions Ye Qing and makes it clear he doesn’t like assistants like Nan Xing. Ye Qing says that if Nan Xing doesn’t improve within a week, she’ll fire her. Lu Zichen asks about Ye Qing’s boyfriend and learns they met playing golf. Nan Xing feels awkward about earlier and tries to initiate conversation.

But when Lu Zichen appears, everything she says makes her want to disappear. After a whole day in the office, Nan Xing grows anxious—she accidentally bumped into Lu Zichen and is afraid she’ll be fired. Her colleagues pretend to comfort her, saying even staying one more day is a success. Xiao Wudi thinks about Nan Xing’s style and decides she needs a major makeover.

Nan Xing brings him breakfast at work and tries to sneak a look at his phone, but Xiao Wudi stops her. When Nan Xing gets to the office, she overhears coworkers talking about how she hit the boss yesterday. She panics and asks Jiaojiao to assign her some work. Jiaojiao sends her to the warehouse to move boxes. Seeing how messy it is, Nan Xing can’t help but organize everything. Jiaojiao praises her, and just then, Xiao Wudi arrives at the company.
