Han Mingxi is a member of Tianyi Pavilion, and he told Ye Li about his previous experience of being captured. After analysis, Ye Li suspected that Han Mingxi must have been taken to Songyue Mountain Villa when he was captured, and the owner of Songyue Mountain Villa is Mo Jingli. With Princess Lingyun's death in Great Chu, there is no hope for peace talks between the two countries, and war is highly likely to break out.

Furthermore, the previous incident of Zhang Hengyuan assassinating Zhong Xingtong using a secret letter was also intended to sow discord. Mo Jingli has done so much behind the scenes, yet it is all for his own selfish desires, plunging the common people into misery. Mo Xiuyao was still hunting down criminals outside the capital when he accidentally captured a suspicious person. He searched the person and found a secret letter stating that Princess Lingyun had died in Great Chu.

Mo Xiuyao made a prompt decision to shift the focus of the hunt to intercepting this secret letter from being delivered to the Cangbei Royal Court. This messenger had poison hidden between his teeth and bit into it to die while they were off guard. Mo Xiuyao assigned tasks to Jin and Wang Suwu respectively. Since the matter was grave, he planned to ride back to the capital as fast as possible.

Han Mingxi had thought about taking the blame for killing Princess Lingyun all on himself to get Ye Li out, but Ye Li refused to do so. She took a sharp hair-binding accessory from Han Mingxi's head, made herself bleed, and faked the illusion of being poisoned by Zhenyu Hong.

Before passing out, Ye Li told the Minister of the Secretariat that she was poisoned with Zhenyu Hong, and if there was no antidote within two hours, she would die from bleeding from her seven facial orifices, and the antidote was in the hands of Gu Zheng of Jingzhao Prefecture. While the Minister of the Secretariat was hesitating, Han Mingxi added fuel to the fire with a few words, and the Minister of the Secretariat dared not delay any further.

Li Feibai met Gu Zheng and requested to enter the Imperial Court of Judicial Review to see Ye Li. Gu Zheng said that he did not have the authority to enter the Imperial Court of Judicial Review. Just then, the Minister of the Secretariat sent someone with a message, so Gu Zheng took a bottle of stomach-strengthening pills to the dungeon of the Imperial Court of Judicial Review to visit Ye Li.

In fact, Ye Li was not poisoned at all. She quietly passed a message to Gu Zheng, asking him to send people to the Cangbei Posthouse to keep a close eye on Su Zuidie's every move. No one knew except Ye Li that the important posthumous edict was hidden by her under a cushion in Qingfeng Mingyue Tower.

Qin Zheng requested to return to Nanyi, and Guo Jin agreed, asking Shunxi to prepare a pot of orchids for Qin Zheng to take back. Su Zuidie found Marquis Muyang Zhou Jing and identified herself as someone from the Eastern Palace. Zhou Jing immediately understood that she was the one behind Princess Lingyun's death, with the purpose of provoking a war between the two countries.

Over the years, Chen Longxiang had helped Zhou Jing smuggle military weapons to Cangbei, holding many pieces of leverage against Zhou Jing. Su Zuidie told Zhou Jing about Chen Longxiang's disappearance, using this to manipulate Zhou Jing into helping them frame Ye Li as the real killer of Princess Lingyun, thereby dragging Prince Ding's Mansion into the mess.

By then, Mo Xiuyao would also be implicated, and no one in Jingzhao Prefecture would be able to investigate the matters behind Chen Longxiang. Later, Zhou Jing's subordinate, Zhao Ting, charged into the Imperial Court of Judicial Review with a death-defying determination, intending to silence Ye Li. Fortunately, with Han Mingxi's help, Ye Li was unharmed. Seeing that the assassination had failed, Zhou Jing's subordinate cut his own throat and died on the spot.

To find the real culprit, Ye Li convinced the Minister of the Secretariat to let her out, and she found Su Zuidie. Ye Li intentionally guided Su Zuidie to speak the truth, after which the Minister of the Secretariat appeared with his men and caught Su Zuidie red-handed. Zhou Tianyang did not leave the capital, and Zhou Jing learned from him that Guo Jin had sent someone to bring him back.

Great Chu had caught the real culprit, Su Zuidie, with ironclad evidence, leaving Lei Tengfeng with no choice but to acknowledge it. Ye Li specifically requested to go to court to accuse Marquis Muyang Zhou Jing of treating human life like grass and attempting to murder her to silence her.

In front of everyone, Ye Li stated that Zhou Jing's subordinate, Zhao Ting, had sneaked into the Imperial Court of Judicial Review to kill her, and the jailers of the Imperial Court of Judicial Review saw it all very clearly.
