Mirror: A Tale of Twin Cities Episode 6 Recap
> Mirror: A Tale of Twin Cities Recap
At the Hall of the Five Masters in Cangliu, Saintess Yu Zhu reports that the Greed Wolf Star is shifting abnormally in the direction of Tianque, signaling chaos. Despite Master Peng advising against rash action, the masters ultimately vote to kill anyone who passes through Tianque to prevent any potential disaster. Meanwhile, Bai Ying searches for the person prophesied to bring hope to Kongsang. She is unexpectedly saved by Su Mo.
Reunited after a hundred years, an emotional Su Mo embraces her, confessing that he has dreamt of her constantly and believed her to be dead. Bai Ying, however, coldly tells him to treat their past as a dream. She states that the Bai Ying he knew died when she jumped from the Jing Pagoda a century ago, and her life now belongs solely to Kongsang. Elsewhere, Na Sheng, venturing alone through Xueling, accidentally falls into a deep abyss.
She awakes in an eerie, unfamiliar place and her attention is drawn to a box containing a beautiful gemstone. As she reaches for it, the gem transforms into a ring and flies onto her finger. Panicked, she frantically tries to remove it, fearing it is a demon. She desperately pleads for it to come off, promising to do anything in return. A voice suddenly responds, and a spectral figure, the soul of Zhen Lan, manifests.
Terrified, Na Sheng screams, causing the cave to tremble. Zhen Lan warns her to stop, then instructs her to use the ring's power to move towards him for safety. In Kongsang, the High Priest and several princes observe an abnormal reaction in the Water Mirror. The High Priest confirms it is the Heavenly Ring, which hasn't shown a reaction in a hundred years. He immediately directs the princes to Tianque Snow Mountain to search for it.
Zhen Lan explains to Na Sheng that the ring is "ordained by the heavens" and she cannot remove it until its next master appears. He reveals his request: she is to wear the Heavenly Ring and take it to Taoyuan Province, a small town near Tianque Snow Mountain, where his people will be waiting. Despite her reluctance, Na Sheng agrees after Zhen Lan promises her Yunhuang money as compensation, reminding her not to let anyone see the ring.
Meanwhile, Lord Zhi Zhe of Cangliu confirms that one of the four seals has broken and the Heavenly Ring has reappeared. He issues an order for all those who pass through Tianque to be killed, which Saintess Yu Zhu receives. Later, Master Peng reiterates Zhi Zhe's directive to Yu Zhu and suggests bringing her brother, Yu Huan, back from his punishment in Banbu City to carry out the task.
Master Peng, who had saved the siblings years ago, hints that this is a political maneuver against Master Lang. He also questions Yu Zhu about why Lord Zhi Zhe has kept her as saintess for an unusually long time. In the desert near Banbu City, Yu Huan relentlessly pursues Xiao, who attempted to assassinate him. Xiao defiantly calls Yu Huan "Cangliu's dog." Enraged but refusing to grant her an easy death, Yu Huan drags her through the scorching sands.
They are eventually rescued by Cangliu soldiers, led by General Fei Lian. Yu Huan instructs Fei Lian to send Xiao back to Jing City for interrogation. He then receives a secret message from Yu Zhu, ordering him to proceed to Tianque to eliminate all passers-by and providing a special pearl for protection. As Na Sheng and Zhen Lan traverse Tianque, they startle some guards and hide. They overhear the guards discussing the new kill order.
Later, Yu Huan arrives at the Tianque checkpoint for inspection. Discovering the guards drinking and neglecting their duties, he kills them all for their dereliction. At the Tianque Heavenly Temple, Bai Ying reflects on her encounter with Su Mo. Acknowledging the divide between Kongsang and Quanxian, she resolves that they are not meant to be together and that her life now belongs to Kongsang.
Her primary duty is to find the person passing through Tianque, Kongsang's hope, before Cangliu's soldiers do. Feeling hungry, Na Sheng stumbles upon a Snow Poppy, which Zhen Lan identifies as the most precious medicinal plant in Yunhuang. He remarks on her good fortune and she picks it. As they continue, they spot many Cangliu soldiers pursuing Su Mo.
Zhen Lan, acknowledging his limitations as a spirit, advises Na Sheng to seek help from Su Mo, suggesting she show him the ring if he is reluctant. Na Sheng catches up to Su Mo, desperately pleading for him to save her and take her to Taoyuan Province. When he questions her, she reveals the Heavenly Ring. Recognizing the powerful artifact, Su Mo immediately grabs her and flies to a mountain peak, narrowly escaping the pursuing soldiers.
The soldiers report that a merman in blue clothes and a girl from the Central Plains have passed through. As Su Mo questions Na Sheng about the ring, Bai Ying, in the temple, senses his presence and murmurs his name.
